Been here myself, except I was a teen with my 3 brothers, sister, mom and dad. Eventually ended up having to stay in churches (which only had certain hours you could be there), eating maybe once a day - which was usually sharing a package of lunch meat - the paper thin kind. I'm now 32 years old and can tell you it is not as easy as people think and its happening to people every single day. Do not exist; LIVE and make the best with what you can, appreciate what you have. Been here myself, except I was a teen with my 3 brothers, sister, mom and dad. Eventually ended up having to stay in churches (which only had certain hours you could be there), eating maybe once a day - which was usually sharing a package of lunch meat - the paper thin kind. I'm now 32 years old and can tell you it is not as easy as people think and its happening to people every single day. Do not exist; LIVE and make the best with what you can, appreciate what you have. First off to those who didn't listen before being judgmental... she had a steady job, she had a home. She had five beautiful children. She lost her job then her fiancee got injured and was unable to work. That is what happened. She got & shelter. She feeds them. Those kids know they are loved. What she did not do is give up, get bitter, and quit trying. She didn't ask to win the lotto, she asked for a good steady job. Hell of a woman, and SHAME on those of you who would pass judgment on her.

I'm sure most of the educated people who have been posting here would agree that most homeless individuals and families simply want to be given the opportunities that had been taken from them, through misfortune or what have you. Unfortunately, it's much easier to kick someone when theyre down than to take the time and energy to help them out. I used to have a very negative outlook on life, but I am always amazed at those who still do the right thing.

I know I'm going to get a lot of shit for saying this but owell....it's my opinion.
First off, 5 kids!! That's selfish of the mother to have 5 children when she knew that she and her husband were financially unstable. If your job only pays you minimum wage especially when it's a low skill job like being a nanny, kids should be the LAST thing on your list.
Also, how do you loose a house and two vehicles when both parents are providing income? There's two sides to every story ya know...

I understand if you're in those situation with a kid or two, and I show sympathy. But the #1 reason you're this low is because of 5 kids. I'm a Missouri resident so yes, I know what minimum wage is set at(it's going to increase in the next year I believe). Unless you are in Springfield or Branson, the only hotel options are ghetto. In Missouri, just find a hog farm.

@LYHOTSproductions The only problems with Extreme Home Makeover is that you have to already own a home for them to come, & they usually build such a ginormous house that the tax & utilities bills drive the recipients out of them eventually anyway. Occassionally I have seen them pay off someone's mortgage, so probably those instances are the only ones where the people can afford to stay in the home, since they can then put the money they were paying toward the mortgage toward the utilities & tax
