I'm having problem making these. Is the way your making blood appear through compression. If so, i cant have that in my play, as the person is caught unaware, so compressions doesnt cut it. Any ideads anyone?
If you mean that the injured actor will not be able to react to the wound (bringing a hand to the pack in order to break it) you should look into squibs... very cool good for gun shot injuries
You can purchace "mouth blood" or make your own concoction with corn syrup and food coloring. The only limitation is the size you can hold in your mouth and not look like a chipmunk. Some costume stores sell blood capsules that taste horrid but give you a little more mouth bleeding than packs do, plus no need to find time to spit out a plastic bag. Good luck!
Too many people neglect to narrate their tutorials. You can give your viewers a lot more info that way, which really increases the value of your tutorial. The music is fine... but it does not add anything.
That's cool, I was mostly having fun with my camera and found it was an easy way to show a friend of mine across the country what I was talking about. Perhaps in the future I will strive to be more professorial.
Slow the video down so that someone can actually gain the knowledge you are trying to provide. Kudos to you for providing the information, but you do have about 6+ more minutes to convey it.
I just did a show where I used Glad press and seal, and while you can't really make a lot of packs in advance because they start to leak, it's great if you want the release to be idiot-proof and if you need blood packs quickly and on the cheap. I found it works best if you cut a wide strip (like 5"), fold that in half, and seal up one of the sides adjacent to the crease about an inch then use a turkey baster or whatever to pour in the blood. You have to keep the stuff clean or else it won't seal
It's an old Seal-a-meal (look around thrift stores for them) or you can buy a new version if you search for "bag sealers" just be sure it's not the vacuum kind. Good luck!
This is great! I never thought of using shampoo. I've also been using a mixture of whisk (it works the same as the shampoo, but it's blue so it adds to the color mixing), chocolate syrup, and red food coloring.
I just want to know where to get a blood bag from!!!

@pacotheparrot1 That's what the seal-o-matic was for. I've never tried using an iron for the task.

Are you able to do blood capsules to put in your mouth?
gonein1hr 2 years ago
I hear tales of people making them, but I just buy capsules from the make-up store. Ben Nye and Kryolan both sell pretty good ones.

@eleanorerigby well I live in Aus so I got no idea what those people are

If you dont want it to taste bad, use chocolate syrup and food coloring. It looks extremely real and tastes delicious!

@XandeRToXic Wtf?
Lolcatwitwut 1 year ago
Why dont you use the seal a meal to close up the blood bag instead of putting a knot in it?
XandeRToXic 2 years ago
really messy and hard (impossible?) to get a good tight seal... but I did try it once.

I've found that different types of "injuries" all seem to have different solutions . This is just one method, there are so many more.

condoms don't work at all. condoms aren't designed to break.
revkev24 3 years ago
yea, I've found condoms (with a little hole in the tip) work pretty well with blood knives but not as much with wounds. Thanks for watching!
