Day of the Dead? Not my favorite of the "Dead" movies, but it was still one of the best horror movies in the 80s. Someone else posted "Braindead" aka "Dead Alive.". Awesome movie. Sick.
Speaking of J. Carpenter, another 1 of his movies from the 80's era that deserves billing is 1987's Prince of Darkness. 4 sum reason, that never seems 2 get the recognition it deserves. Plenty of 'edge of your seat' moments thruout begng to end. Come 2 think bout it, 1 of its memorable moments has Alice Cooper playing the leader of a satan worshipping mob that consists of zombie-minded homeless people. I mean, if a movie can make Alice Cooper scarier than he is already, it deserves 2 b ranked!
Definately agree having The Shining up at the top. Trying 2 think what would be my choices but do know that The Shining is in my top 2 no doubt. I agree w/othersthat it should've been included somewhere. The suspense that stays built up nonstop from arnd the 15 min mark thruout til the end along w/the resembling 'heartbeat' type music that's typical John Carpenter makes the flic a horror classic
Friday the 13th Halloween Puppetmaster Braindead Cannibal holocaust Hellraiser Nightmare on elm-street Gremlins The hills have eyes Black christmas mah list winz.
The THING, Child's Play, Aliens, Predator,The Blob, an American Werewolf in London, Creepshow, Return of the living dead, Phenomena, The serpent and the rainbow, Dead Ringers, Demons 1-2, Intruder, Maniac Cop, Fright Night, House, Phantasm 2, Stepfather, The Prowler. Just a little addition LOL!
@junkyturd Don't forget Madman, Home Sweet Home, Crazy Ethel 2, The Forest, Woodchipper Massacre, Sleepaway Camp, Summer Camp Nightmare, Cannibal Campout, Cannibal Ferox, Cannibal Holocaust, The Ghoulies, Ghoulies II and Troll.
