@PureFootage Ex cab gives you more room to tear your chair apart and put it in the back. A crew cab has the door post which would make it a little harder. I'm gonna try it in a crew cab one of these days... lol

I bought my dodge diesel 4x4 in 1995 (im t12) complete and used the drivers side for 13 yrs, i was fortunate to have alot of upper body strength and it took no time at all. 30 sec i believe,from grabbing the door handle. Now im driving an srt10 ram, and its so much easier than getting into a car! I guess it might matter if one is left handed or right?? way to go dude, i love the looks i get from ppl...or used to get.. prob still get,only im not lookin :)

sweet deal man i to have to do knarly transfers haha i'm Paraplegic and drive a 08 jeep wrangler 4 door with a 2" lift so we're prob sitting around the same seat height. i used to have a 05 ford focus which believe it or not was harder to get into.. but anyways thats sweet

if you went in the drivers side way it would be way more of a hassle putting the chair away, going in the passanger side he just slides over and the chair follows, dosent have to lift it over himself

Dang! That is some transfer. Nice skills. I love the FJ cruiser and was thinking of getting one but couldn't put the wheels on the chair when getting out. You have a lot of strength and make this look easy. The FJ has suicide doors as well, do you think I could learn to do this with practice?

Oh I'm sure you could learn it with practice. It took me quite a few times to get this transfer figured out. Now its easy.

This is awesome! You have the truck I want. The only thing I'm gonna do different is get in on the drivers and my chair folds up nice and small so it should fit behind the drivers seat nicely.

I have a Quickie Revolution. It's classed as a rigid frame but it folds up even smaller than a conventional chair. I love it so much I've had several. Any idea what the distance is from the back of the drivers seat to the back of the cab?

Interesting technique but a bit more trouble than I care to go through several times a day. I will stick with my lower cars for now. What do you do when you drop a wheel? Use the door hook rod and hope it didn't roll bounce far away?

Yup, I've used the hook to grab it.  I've only had it roll away once, and that was the 2nd time I've did the transfer...Neighbor saw it and picked it up for me.

I use a rod that I bent into a hook so I could grab the door handle from inside.
