  • versicolors look fake even though i know its not

  • arent red knees more expensive than fire legs

  • Your videos are incredible mate,I've watched hundreds of them and never get bored! My G.pulchripes wouldn't let me do that though, she's a phsycho, teleporting maniac on good days!!

  • i'm a beginner and i have an a.geniculata and a chaco golden knee... i'm thinking of getting the salmon pink birdeater ! should i get a L.Parahybana ? Are they docile and slow moving ? thanks :)

  • did you got a spiderbite ??

  • Could you make a Video explaining the Basic Starter T. behaviors?

  • what do you recomend for a 13 year old??

  • @froggy10145 I'd suggest almost any grammostola species. or brachypelma; quite docile, and pretty slow-moving. :)

  • @froggy10145 hey, i got my first t when i was 5, it was a grammostola rosea, chilean rose hair, and i still got her, and i also have a brachypelma vagans juvenile, both are really colourgul and docile, and i handled my rose hair for the first time when i was 13, so yea, get something from the brachypelma or grammostola genus

  • Really enjoy your vids very informative

  • Amazing how good you are with your spider! Love your videos.

  • i have been interested in getting a t. but a lot of the care sheets say that you should hold a t. unless you have to, and they are extremely fragile, is that true?

  • @zachryan10 yes it is, some Ts you can handle more than others, if you want to get a good T, i can also reccomend a Mexican Red-Knee aka Jazz from this video, theyve been known for many years to be one of the more-docile tarantulas their also not the biggest of Tarantulas, not too small eitherm but they make good pets as far as Tarantulas, if you want a T that lives longer, id say get a Female, they live longer thna Males usually by a large amount 15 to 25 years is fairly normal for Females

  • aww i love and miss Mel thats what i named my second T rob a B Auratom lol

  • can you handle GBBs?

  • Love your videos T guy, im jealous as to how docile your T's are here, almost as if you've trained them hahaha, is there a tip to keeping them calm while handling them?, i dont handle mine very often but when i do they are some times quite jumpy, i think its because im a little nervous, can they sense this?

  • @J3WB4G1991 Try handling them out of there enclosure that way they will be alot less defensive.

  • hey tarantula guy i have a usambara baboon, what do you think about handling the baboon tarantula ???

  • @emaadhasan88 thats a terrible idea haha theyre also know as OBT's which often times stands for orange bitey thing

  • @emaadhasan88 Very bad idea...they have a VERY nasty bite, I know from experience.

  • I hold mine once every 3 days sometime soon it will be a small amount I'm trying to get her ready 4 her move so I can hold her to place it in

  • Comment removed

  • @DjChopstyk handling is not necessary, it can actually stress them out.

  • Fascinated by all your videos, I love your tarantulas, but much to skittish to hold one =x. Do they need handling? I just like looking at them, and watching them feed.

  • @tyrannicworm they sure both great T's...friends if you want terrestrial out aorbeal....go here to get it...paul(at)petcenterusa(dot)net.

  • @tarantulaguy1976 Thanks very much Rob keep up the great work :) :D

  • @tarantulaguy1976 Hey RobC! I love your videos and it is the reason I am now getting a Pink toe tarantula after about 8 years of not owning one (Rosie, don't want to go into details its a long story). But I was thinking that if I do start to breed tarantulas I would like to send you a A. Avic spiderling for free (does Brandon need a new one? What happened to that male, LOL) as a thank you and to keep up the great videos and helpful advice!! (Oh and those crazy unboxxing and callingoutscammersLOL

  • Hey Rob,

Have been watching your videos for a while and you've got me extremely interested in this hobby. And I dont know which would be more suitable A.Avic or a B. Emelia? And also would it be better getting a T off the internet or a store? Thanks very much Rob keep up the good work :) I've already subbed :D

  • I'm thinking about getting an A. Versicolor but there's two issues. One, they're expensive. Two, my mum is not keen on him/her getting out and running away and into the house. Ar they unmanageably fast? Is it possible to barricade the area when I'm holding them so they won't get away? Also do you know a good place to get one?

  • @EricTzeo3 she is a terrestrial.

  • @tarantulaguy1976

Hi Rob, Thanks for coming back to me from b4.

I have been looking at a few different spiders from a store in the UK and i like the look of a Aphonopelma chalcodes - Desert Blonde juvie for my first spider.

Can i have ure opinion or advise please?

    thanks

  • @youngblood117 They grow very slow but are great T's!!!!

  • haha my mexican fire leg is mean! she wont let me hold her i put tongs in there to take out the remains of the cricket and bang she bites it and wont let go

  • what avic would you think would be the easiest to care for when someone doesn't have a tarantula room that is set to a certain heat and humidity

  • MY SLING BOEHMEI IS COMING TOMMOROW!!!! |I HOPE IT LIVES IT MINUS 30c here>.>

  • Hey Rob. I love the B. Emilia, I just got one myself its only like 1.5 inches if that. how fast do they grow and about when do you see full coloration on them, also are males or females brighter or are both genders colors about the same?

  • @RollerToaster34 They are slow growers but get color at about 3-4"

  • @tarantulaguy1976 is mel a aboreal t?

  • I just got a grammostola concepcion yesterday

    its about 3/3.5 inches

how old would you say it is?

    im thinking about 2/3 years

  • Hey Rob, you don't have an E.campestratus? I hear they're the most docile of all Ts, and perfect for beginners. What's your take on this?

  • @delightracardeanne I have never owned one LOL!

  • @tarantulaguy1976 it's also known as the "Pink Zebra Beauty" because it's body sometimes has a deep pinkish coloring to it, and it has striping down the joints of it's legs. It's a remarkable spider and as I said, very very docile. I read it's a great spider as far as kids are concerned. :-)

  • @Stoopudjurcee1 I tried to save my buddies in the video "How to hydrate a tarantula"

  • You have some gorgeous Ts and brilliant setups - love your Avic tanks! I'm jealous of how calm you are handling your spiders - I have a 2 inch legspan curly hair that I'd like to handle but I still feel a little jumpy as he moves so fast, so I need to get over my nerves first as I'd hate to jump and drop/hurt him at all. x

  • Would you say a red-knee would be a better species for a complete beginner than an Avic? Are Avics a little harder to deal with?

  • @Gaiacarra Depends on what you want, avics = more active & cool webs

Smithi = more color, a bit easier to care for and more color

conclusion = Get them both!! LOL!.

  • is it worth buying a male versicolor do the live longer then other males i think this is what im gonna get i cant get over how beautiful they are what would you go with male or female and do you have some for sale id love to buy from you

    thanx heather

  • @heather21206 The MM's are a bit more vibrant but will only have a total life span of 2-3 years, a female is 6-10 years

  • how many times were you bitten by a spider :D just asking

  • Hi, I recently ordered a g. pulchra and i was wondering if you have any and whether they're a good beginner species? :)

  • @fluffyreptiles They are a great starter but grow very slow!

  • @tarantulaguy1976 that's okay I got a sub adult so it won't be that bad. :) thanks!

  • aphonopelma seemani is the docile??

  • @kenko04 There is not a A. seemani in the vid?

  • Hey Rob, thanks for your video. I remember you helping me on Arachnoboards a while back. You're very knowledgeable and helpful. How do you hold your T's with such confidence? I still can't handle mine due to being intimidated by its speed and teeth.

  • @mymatryoshka Well probably because I used to handle pit-vipers at the St. louis zoo so a T is no threat to me LOL!!

  • I just bought a mexican reed knee, great spider!!=o)

  • what was the name of the T that u showed right after the red kne that u said shouldn't even have fangs she was beautiful and how much do they run price wise

    thanks

    heather

  • @heather21206 That was a B. emelia (mexican redleg)

  • Please make more videos Rob!!=o)

  • I want a mexican redknee, it is such an awesome spider!!=o)

    How much does they cost?=o.

  • @trommelumsen A adult is about 200-250 for a female.

  • @tarantulaguy1976 thank you !=o) Im gonna look 4 a young redknee T, really beautifull spider, i envy you for having one!=o)

  • the a. metallica is that type of t price??

  • @gigaboot2 P. metallica is!

  • What is the 2nd one? sorry but i couldn't quiet catch that. :0)

  • @TheTarantulaBoy1996 It is B emelia (Mexican redleg)

  • i love spider

  • Comment removed

  • That is correct!

  • wait im so confused! i just got an avicolor versicolor as like a tiny little 1/4th inch baby at the white plains reptile show because i thought they were bright blue? mine is bright blue now are you saying that its going to turn red and black....?

  • she will turn blue, green & red when adult.

  • wow i had no idea, thanks for the info though. i wish i could sex my tarantulas i have a rose hair, the avicularia, and a cobalt blue but i dont know the sex of any of them

  • do you have a xenethis immanis or intermedius

  • any recommendations for a guy that is allergic to those hairs?

  • great!

    can i add?

    aphonopelma hentzi

    brachypelma albopilosum

just about any avic is docile i think.

    metallica, versicolor, purpurea, avic. avicularia.

  • ALL OF THOSE ARE GREAT!!

  • yup. i agree. i really like the avics. just cant find any in here. i heard only 2 people in here own purpureas. very colorful and active. unlike most docile terrestrials that hardly move.

  • a tarantula can kill a dog or a cat

    ?

  • There venom is no where mear strong enough, some have more potent venom that could make a dog or cat sick but not kill it.

  • Thanks

  • rob buddy have you ever seen a haplopelma schmidti von wirth i have one second t i bought kinda big what are they selling for help me kinda want another one i might call paul cause he told me what it was thanks joseph

  • I would talk to Paul, he is an expert on haplos...I never got into them so I can't answer too many questions about them.

  • what would you suggest for a person who's getting thier first T? i hear a mexican red knee is one of the best, but ive heard a few others XD

  • mex red knee is rlly good or the pink rose hair either or, i jus got my first T is a mex red knee, so docile

  • aa rob whats does it mean whe a tarantula is throwing hairs

  • The T will kick hairsd off the abdomen onto your skin and it will itch,....sometimes burn!!

  • its like a defense mechanism, you'll kick when their irritatated

  • they use a back leg and rub their backend and the hairs fly off giving you a whole lot of itchiness

  • are versi colors docile cause i want to buy 1

  • are those bite marks on your hands? lol and how do u have so much confidence to pick them up? any suggestions on how to get them use to being handled?

  • That is from itching from the hairs.....

  • the big red welts? and i own a few t's gonna buy a few more:P probably pink toe mexican red knee green bottle blue and maybe a cobalt blue not sure on that one thow u should make a vid on setting up a terrestrial enclosure :P

  • hey rob i got one g. rosea 1 b.smithi and two a. metallicas . im trying to get more advanced AT tarantulas what would you prefore for my next tarantula

  • Nice Genicultata :D

im have Geniculata bat mine is biger :DD

Look for my kont youtube :)

  • hey what was the second T u showed and are rose hair turantulas good to or what

  • That was a Mexian redleg (B.Emilia)....I would get a bracky over a rosie anyday!!

  • Do you buy your Brachys as slings, or they're already females?

  • I buy them as Juvies!! or adults!!

  • Awesome documentation again Tman.

  • how many spiders do u have

  • Right around 700

  • holy shit thats insane okay 700 how do u know when to feed clean... etc

  • I have a oprogram that I enter in all info...breeding,last ate, how much maintance...it is fun!!! I have 5 people helping so it is not that bad!!

  • do you have any australian T's i keep 2 at home?

  • Where could I get an A metallica sling? I've been looking around, but I haven't seen that many sites with them...

  • Check on Arachnoboards - Ken the bug guy and Reptist are two awesome dealers and both should have some...I'd also recommend Alex080 - he's a very good friend of mine and another great dealer!

  • How do I get in touch with Alex? You seem to have a ton of good reviews about him!

  • He is a great guy!! I would just click on his name & send him a message.

    Rob

  • can you do a vid on pink toes

  • he got a hair kick on him

  • At aprox 0:31 i can see a red marking on your hand.

    What is that?

When you get bitten i would be great if you could document it even if its small bite from a brachypelma juvi=) bites are very interesting.

I also must say that your videos are totaly awesome, i really enjoy watching them.

And if your have a Selenobrachys philippinus i would like to see it.

    Cheers

  • The red mark I think is where I scratched at some Blondi hairs. LOL

I do have a documented bite on youtube - it was from my 4" P. Regalis and hurt like hell!

  • Yeah i have seen the regalis bite vid=)

But if you ever get bitten again please document it even if its a aviculara or similar.

    Good for beginner to see

  • about how long did it take for that emilia to reach that size?

  • Rob, how many molts did it take for you chaco golden knee to get that size?

  • I believe it was 8+ molts!!

  • Mine just had it's third last week...they aren't kidding when they say these guys grow slow!

  • that's a very nice room you got there. i see all your juvies are kept in containers without hides. is that ok?

  • If it is the pokies you are talking about, they web up a hide and make there own!!

  • i meant the brachys and the grammy. i give my brachy and grammy slings a half cut squash ball (like a cave). i was wondering if yours are perfectly happy without a hide.

  • The ones in the small containers basically use their container as their hide...they put webbing and substrate on the walls and top. They seem to love it!

  • how can i tell if my chilain rose is male or female

  • You can sex it by the molt!!

  • Hey Rob, do you think that curly haired Ts are as easy to keep and handle as B. smithi? thanks!

  • Yeah, just keep the curly hair a little moister and at about 70% humidity...

  • jazz is so beautiful

  • Thanks! I agree!! LOL

  • Great advice Rob :)

  • if you see my rosie you'll think its a glioth she has bitten me 12 times when i tried totake her out of her cage to clean . and i've only had her for 2 monthes ps i'm your biggest fan. pss.i am your biggest fan i ve seen all your videos!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 12 times?? Wow! You got me beat and I've been doing this for 20 something years!!

    Thank you!!!

  • Hey man, I was wondering if you had any B. Smithi Ts for sale and what size/how much. Thanks.

  • I have none at the moment!!!

  • The thumbnail of the video looks like a foot.

  • Comment removed

  • awesome video rob!!! i just love all those Ts to death!!! owen is awesome!! i like jazz as well,al cool Ts man!!! hey im gonna ask u a question in a PM,okay lol

  • those hair kicking are itchy...Itch me for about 3 weeks.

  • Love this vid. I just got a young emilia and haven't yet handled it. She can be a little quick; you think she'll be good? I love the comment "she shouldn't even have fangs."

How did your regalis bite turn out?

  • I was lucky, I was better the next day!

  • "come on owen! OWEN!!!"

    :D so cool

  • LOL - yeah, I talk to my T's....I will say that I swear one time I said "Owen!!" and he came out!!! Call me crazy but I swear it happened once!! But then I am a litte "off"...LOL

  • funnily enough, i only talk to two of my t´s. don´t know why i don´t talk to the other ones... :D

  • WOW she is nice did she molt recently she looks bright

  • I meant your B smithi

  • She molted about 3 or 4 weeks ago....she's gorgeous!!

  • nice!! hey guess wut iam gonna get a 2-3 inch KB a curly hair-tigerump -and horned baboon from alex iam so excited lol!!!!1

  • Awesome!!!

  • iam getting them from alex!!

  • hey men how much time u got with ur b. smithi and the with the avicularia

  • We've had the B. Smithi, Jazz, for about a year and half (she's only 2) and we just got the A. Metallica...we've had the Vericolor for about a year...

  • i have a 1cm chaco golden knee and its very fiesty will i calm down over time?

  • There's a chance it may calm down as it matures...try getting it out of the enclosure using a small container then try to hold it...it should be more calm out of it's home.
