Ridiculous first comment. It's dangerous no matter what! It doesn't matter who you are the human body is the human body. Sure it helps to know what you're doing but even if PLC for example went head first into the sand there, with the force of that wave, experience isn't gonna help.

Grew up at the wedge 25 years ago. Huge day where you could ride the barrel all the way up and get washed up onto the sand on your sponge. Walked away with torn ligament in my neck and didn't even know it, from getting washing machined. 5 days later i almost died. Never hit my head on the sand or anything. Just spun real hard. Still my hands down favorite spot to this day, and have ridden it up to 30 feet. Beach has changed a lot, it doesn't break as clean like it used too.
