most of the time you have to wait for the the food to be falling before you open the door, it has some sort of sensor that knows if you open the door before the food drops in the new ones

Not sure if this works, but I think it depends on the actual vending machine, because where the food or drink hits, it's some sort of weight, so pushing the door to stop the food or drink from hitting the bottom is a brilliant idea, however now days it small operating system within the vending machine is a better calculator than the old ones, so it might of calculated you bought some thing before you did, but I'll check it out. This works for the older machines that uses Letter+number keys. Just hold the door flap up and press the return. Reuse for another snack :D

I've seen that happen. Sometimes you can just push the door open hard enough you can bounce your item up and it'll reposition itself so that it come though. I've seen people leave their item there when that could have been done...

i have got a better trick, i have been doing it since i was a kid.

u take an old dollor bill, cut a part of it, and then insert it into the vendy's, and the machine will return the money back, but it will say £1 on the screen.

With the snack machines you can press on the glass to stop the bag of chips or what ever from falling and it will continue to spin and give you 2 or more, not sure if anyone knew that but we used to do it all the time in my old school. This trick only works with the stuff on the top shelf thing the bottom stuff doesn't stick out enough to get stuck.
