Does anyone know how to go natural with out cutting your hair? Last time I had a perm was Nov. 28.. I don't want to go back to perks anymore. But I'm so frustrated
Ladies, Shea butter is an sealant, there is no water in it! For it to be a moisturizer, one must get water into it. After I spray veg. glycerin n water mix in my hair, put leave-in conditioner and seal with shea mix of coconut, olive n jojoba oils. You don't need alot unless you have lots of hair I don't short boy-cut ceaser. My hair looks and feels great. If you want water n shea you must preserve it with oils for that reason and use a product for blending with water. Look up products...TRACK
I can understand the frustration of going natural and trying to find products to restore the health of my hair. Sometimes I feel that it's too late for my hair because i'm 24 and I been natural for a year and I feel like I'm stilling learning how to take care of my hair. Right now, I been using Dr. Bronner's conditioning rinse as a co-wash weekly and castor oil as my leave in conditioner. So far, it's working. I feel empowered, being natural.
I kinky curly because it is the only product that doesn't itch my scalp. It has no chemicals, i.e., alcohol, dimethicone, silicone, mineral oil, and no parabens. My scalp started to itch really, really bad when I was wearing the perm, so I cut it all off, and I am completely happy with my TWA and the KC products.
I am natural and I buy and use 100% Pure Coconut Oil, Castor Oil, Lavender Oil, Rosemary Oil & Tea Tree Oil...I mix those 5 oils in an applicator bottle and use them whenever my hair needs to be done and needs replenishing and they do not cost me much..AND THAT IS ALL I USE. I DO NOT BUY hair creams and all that jazz...the only factory produced products I buy are shampoo and conditioner to wash my hair when the time comes. To me it seems yall are being ripped off..I keep it very simple with oils
Most ppl r programmed 2 hear herbal, oils, etc & think "GOOD".Many of the ingred can be purch at natural stores/on-line in large bottles that could last u 6m-1yr! but truthfully many LIKE the time & focus they spend being "natural". Worry abt what SHOULDNT be in ur hair products(sulfates, cones, parabens,petro..ect) & if u want extra herbs/oils, buy a few bottles that u like (jojoba, avacado, coconut, hemp, etc)& add things 2 ur condish&styling products & LEARN works 4 YOUR hair.U dont have 2 go broke
I completely agree. Going natural shouldn't cost an arm and a leg. Carol's daughter and Kinky Curly are too expensive. That's why we need to make our own products.
Sooooooo glad you did this video! I have bottles of SEVERAL different oils since being newly natural and the cost at the end of the day is NOT cheap. Hopefully others see this in time before going on an oil/product shopping spree on amazon!
hi, new to youtube here and i was wondering how you feel about interracial dating. are white guys ok for you? sorry, i know this is off your subject, however, i would really like to know more about black and multiracial womens' opinions on this. thank you. by the way...do not change your hair, it looks great.
While I was doing my trial and error hair product purchasing, I purchased items from places where I could return them if I didn't like them. Now I've found my staple products and I don't have to break my bank. I do have shea butter and coconut oil simply because my hair LOVES those products, but I don't have buy them often (maybe twice a year), so yeah, you're right. You don't have to go broke to go natural.
I have about 5 products I use. Shea Butter (once every week to stretch), Shampoo (every 2 weeks), Rinse-out conditioner (once a week), Leave in (make it-mixing stretches the product too), and hair lotion (daily). I might spend 60 bucks every other month. Less than I used to spend on fast food and it all goes on my grocery list. I don't buy clays, hennas, proteins tmts, and masks, too scared.
Mist it with a oil and water mixture. You want it to elastic so you can stretch it to unravel without it breaking. At least thats what I do. I got that tech from mummy:). Go slow too, seduce your hair!
Finally someone says it ! I was overwhelmed with all the products these women on youtube use. I too was close to broke :-). I am however still trying to figure out my own hair regimen. Enlightening.
Girl......thanks for this. I so feel you. I went thru a phase as well.......my natural hair "journey" is mainly for my daughters. I needed some help managing my 4yo hair. washing and combing was like torture (for both of us!). Since I have somewhat of regimen and picked up techniques it has become so much more pleasant. I want to say that the one thing I MUST have is virgin coconut oil. that and water I would be good!
SO TRUE!!! ALL YOU HAVE TO REALLY USE IS WATER, HAIR GREASE,"NATURE BLESSING, OLIVE OIL, OR BLUE MAGIC HAIR GREASE", A SOFT BRUSH,HARD BRUSH,AND COMBS, AND KNOWLEDGE OF WHAT YOU ARE DOING.YOU DONT HAVE TO SPEND MONEY ON PRODUCT THAT SAY NATURAL TO BE NATURAL!!!!!
Going natural is only expensive when people can't stick to something that is good for their hair. If you find a product you love then stick to it and stop spending hundred of dollars for something better.
lol from the MOTHER LAND !! i love that you did this video, i jus did the big chop last week and im a college student, so i really can't afford miss jessie's/jane carter/carol's daughther..u give me hope!
you're in your 30's? you look younger! on another note, I'm transitioning and I find that it is cheaper to go natural than having to get relaxer retouches every 6-8 weeks, etc. there are many good products out there that don't cost an arm and a leg.
I make my own hair products...there is no way in hell I 'll spend so much money on these other products. Basically, check the ingredients from those natural hair care products, and research homemade hair shampoo recipes, and concoct your own recipes. First thing is the distilled water, then about 3/4 cp depending on the thickness N length of hair castille shampoo, oils, and essential oils. That's it.
also either buy or use your local library and find a book on homemade hair and body products. You can make your own conditioners, spritzes, etc. There are plethora of books with easy to more advanced skills on making these products. I simply condition my hair with either coconut oil or mix in other oils. During the summer I use lighter oils N in the winter I use heavier oils like EVOO. N you do not need to add too much oil in these recipes. I've been making my own stuff for a year, now
I am so happy to come cross this video. I have been natural for about 5 months and have spent over 300 bucks. Theses products have made my hair dry and fizzy. I have realized the old fashion hair greese and castrol oil works well on my hair. I purchased the castor oil for a laxative for 2.29 and blue magic coconut oil hair greese less then 5 bucks. great stuff my hair stay soft now and I am loving my journey. I think the economy is trying to profit off the naturals as they do the permed.

carols daughter is horrible!, overated, over price corn oil. i stop using her stuff becuase it kept rising in price. i do like the east indian herbal oils like amla which i find to be very affordable and better.
Grt Post! 110% Ditto! My mom didn't have all these fancy products they have for our hair today. Born in the 60's, you can imagine what was available....LOL! when I became of age to maintain my own hair I invested in a good moisturizing/cond shampoo, hair oil, comb, brush. What's the point if going natural consist of costly high maintenance products to keep our hair natural. Keep it simple. I'm sticking with the basics.
@mssquirrely I know this is a really really old comment but I am just starting out. I grew up in the eighties and all I can remember was my mother using Blue magic which she used for hot combing my hair, Royal crown, ughh! It always smelled like bacon grease to me! LOL! Then the wet dreadful Jheri curl which I had more hair but I had a sweet tasting wet juicy head! LOL! We sure didn't have all of this information then. Bless YouTube! LOL!
Sorry, what exactly do you mean by "mineral oil based products"? What should I look for on labels? I am just starting out growing my hair natural and figuring out what products to buy is a big challenge. Pretty much everything I thought knew about caring for my hair has to be relearned.
Thanks for saying all of this. my hair is very dry and tightly coiled. Not the kinky curly type so i have a pretty good hunch that it wont give me the same results as other naturals. I found that bronner bros moisture oil lotion and soft and precious detangling spray moisturize my hair very well and each barely cost more than 3 dollars.
Lol. So true. I use the cantu products, very affordable and add my olive oil and other oils in my leave in. I've been natural for two years and my hair is just past shoulder length. The high price products don't grow your hair or make miracles happen it's the attention and tender love you show your hair.
I'm not totally homeless, but these products are giving my wallet a run towards the door. I've given up on the idea that I MUST have the most expensive product. Cost doesn't always equate to quality. I gotta go, my wallet is turning the door knob.
THIS IS A GREAT VIDEO & A VERY TRUE SUBJECT KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK. ""I've been using this ebook called 'Secrets to Growing Black Hair Long' for the past 2 months and my hair is growing like crazy and even has a looser coil texture :) ! the link is on my channel page.Good luck :)"
Enjoyed your vid. Thanx 4 that sis. I like what your said about the shea butter from "The Mother Land". Like o.k. not knocking the it but like you said is it really for me. All I know is I'm using what I have first b4 I invest in anything else. I have pretty good products @ home and I'm still transitioning so there you have it. I really do enjoy the wealth of info on YT and other sites. All you need is to pay attention to your hair, read, listen, and research. Peace and love.
@bitchiteen yes!! if you comb it when its dry it will be a whole lot harder to do and you cause alot more breakage that way.. thats why its best to do it when its wet
@polarBEAR819 well when you comb your hair when wet ...youre streching the hair causing it to tangle and break ....so no it's not best to do it when wet only if it's with a wide tooth comb.....and with dry hair i think its better to comb it when you have some type of conditioner or oil in it for less breakage...
i bought tons and tons of oils and butters - just to find out that my hair is does NOT like most oils...castor oil, coconut oil, jojoba oils all made me shed tons of hair...the shea butter i use as body butter. just like you i want touchable hair, too..LOL live and learn - and this has been an incredibly expensive learning journey lol
excellent - i had to laugh at the thing about "THE mOTHERLAND" -thing (and i am african). love your hair and totally agree about the extent some of us women to go...*smh*
I really wish I'd seen this video before I wasted money on Mixed Chicks Leave-In the other day. My hair actually had better curl definition BEFORE I used it. I'm going to try the Bio Infusion next :-)
I'm really glad I watched your video b/c I'm transitioning and wasn't sure if I needed to start going out and buying natural prudcts left and right! I need to save my money; now I know I dont have to buy expensive products to take care of my hair
You've sealed the deal for me and I'm going with my instincts for this one. Thanks for posting this up, betchu I get all that I need for my hair under my 30.00 limit.
...would like it if it were lighter. That's when I discovered Shealoe butter and I've never been happier. It's too heavy to use all over my hair but my ends really like it. I ordered 12 ounces of it from a cosmetic supply site and almost a year later I still have half left. My family size suave costs under $4 and a big container (not the tub) of ecostyler is $4 and lasts me months too so you really don't have to spend much if you take a little time to figure out what your hair likes. :)
Great video! my hair is much like yours in that it likes a LITTLE oil but anything more than that and it's heavy or greasy. when I was growing up my mom used to grease my hair and scalp frequently and I hated it, even though she changed from mineral oil based grease to coconut oil. My hair just needs a little oil and a lot of moisture and I honestly use suave naturals conditioners as my leave in with a little gel added to frizzier areas on top and I get great results! As for Shea, my hair
Thank you, I'm going natural myself and was driving myself crazy trying to fine product for my hair, I was using do gro for my and it was work great, but sinice made the decision to go natural, I don't use it as much instead I have been driving myself crazy try to fine the right oils, but your helped. I going to stick with what works for me!! do gro!!!! thank you!!

I have been using Bio Infusion Nautral and Bio Infusion Professional for three years now. I use Rosemary Mint shampoo and conditioner. Walgreens sales it for $14.99 but has it on sale once a month for $9.99. The ingredients listed on Bio Infusion Natural and Professional shampoo are EXACTLY the same. This shampoo and conditioner leaves my natural hair soft and healthy. Check out the ingredients, they are better for your hair than Carols Daughters shampoos and they smell just as good.
hi! thanks so much for sharing! i just big chopped last week and have been cowashing as suggested by all of my natural hair friends. my hair has been feeling soft and healthy and CURLY! i just am a little lost as to which products to use. i will definitely look for the biofusion. i'll let you know how it turns out.
i keep seeing these two "lanolin or linalool" ingredients in many cleaning detergents. i d rather study my hair type and the best ingredients for hair, in general, then try to create my own with help from ppl who are already doing it. btw "fragrance" is not one product. it consists of maybe 10 other ingredients, believe me. this is not easy of course but africans need to know that it s not gonna be easy getting back the cultural history, richness and beauty that was erased.
didn' t understood all what you said(,i learned english of london!!)
,but, living in france,am interested in afro americain way of keepin hair naturally curved, and moisturing with all natural products ,(not oily, and greasy),that can
t the freezy hair protect
am the little "metisse"(the hillokitty)'s mother
her father is afro cuban
muy daughter has hair like you
am white, and hair like julia roberts, not so esay neither
Ok, Im agree with u 100%. But I'm trying to go natural, so I cut off my hair n wear sewing hair. My biggest issues are that Im a black female in the army. We have to wear these gear, and putting perm in your hair is simple. Espeacially going to the field for weeks. Now I see natural hair and I feel it would be better during deployment. My white friend go in the shower wash their hair n then its good. Do you think that washing natural hair daily is good?
It depends. If your using a sulfate shampoo, absolutely not. If you aren't, then you should be able to wash your hair at least once a week. If you really want to cleanse it daily, you can always co-wash which is basically using a conditioner instead of a shampoo to cleanse your hair.
My mom relaxed my hair when I was very young and now that I'm 18, I've transitioned back to natural and I have to say that not only my hair looks better and much edgier, I'm not spending an arm and a leg for touch-ups or unnecessary hair products. Olive oil is my best friend. =)
@Pretoriafly exactly the same story here. plus my natural hair is actually been very recession proof for me now that i am in college. no more spending tons on perms and weaves.
Shea butter products make my hair softer and its a good moisturizer. Grease doesn't moisturize or make your hair soft. It does just was it says.....it greases you like a car engine. It doesn't prevent you hair from growing, (my hair has always been long) but there are no benefits from it's use. The only reason it was created originally was as a lubricant for the straightening comb to glide through your hair. I looked it up.
I think Carol's Daughter's product were better when they were indie because I believe their formula changed up once they started producing mass quantities. The price they paid to go commercial. BTW I hate shea butter on my hair, its good for skin but for my hair I can't take it. The smell, the way it just sits on my hair. I know everyone's downing "hair grease" but that stuff works wonders. I don't use it anymore because the oil always gets on my face and causes break-outs but I love it.
Note: Carol's Daughter's products are no longer "natural" they are nature inspired. I used her products B4 she went national w/ her chain & there is a difference... even on her website she has changed from natual to nature inspired.
Lastly, I get my products from the Vitamin Shoppe and Trader Joe's with the exception of my She butter and they last a long time and I don't spend a lot of money...this was a good informative vlog because i know people that are trying every product on the market
I like pure unrefined Shea butter. It works well for my hair and only costs $6 at my local beauty supply for 10 oz. Plus a little bit of it goes a really long way. A jar can last a couple months for me...plus using smaller amounts prevents the waxy feeling on my hair and just makes it feel very smooth and extra soft.
Thanks showing me that going natural does not mean going broke. It is soo... many products out there it is confusing for someone like me who is trying to go natural and doing the big chop this week.
Heey heey, I like ure video, ure hair ( wauw) and the way u let people believe that it doesnt have to be expensive..... thats the truth... Im now almost 4 months natural and it cost a lot.... because live in Amsterdam Holland... I spend €75 just to buy shampoo/ conditioner and moist..... So if u could sugest somthin else ( that i can buy here) it would be nice.... Thanx for givin people like me hope... xxx
I feel you, no point in going broke.I havent really changed to much, but I have to make sure my products are moisterizing to my hair and they go a little something like this: Carol's Daughter Healthy Hair Butter $16.50, Carol's Daughter Loc Butter(Twists for my protective style) $15.50,Aussie Moist Shampoo $2.97, Giovanni 1 Liter Smooth as Silk Conditioner $12.99 total about $50.00 and they last anywhere from 4-6 months. Now thats not too bad.
I couldn't agree more! I actually did some calculations and i spent more money on my hair when i had a relaxer!!!
I find that the more expensive products (usually) have bad stuff in them.
there are cheap alternatives like olive oil and coconut oil which may be initially a bit pricey ( if you don't catch it on sale) but will last you a very, very long time!
@agirlnameryan you just cant go product crazy, I did and I have like 14 different shampoos and 6 conditioners, now that I found what I need for my regular routine, its about $50.00 every 4-6 months
I really enjoyed this video, most natural hair products are very expensive, and especially when you factor in shipping cost if you can't find anything that you like locally.(I did not like Carol Daughters hair products) I've been ordering faithfully online and having to do that so often gets tiring. I will check this out! Tnks!
omg you couldnt have said it any better! i mean yea some of the products have really good review but cmon $58 for a hair lotion smh cmon i cant believe. Thank you so much!!!! really enjoyed this video
Thanks, I am still learning about hair products and naturals. I don't buy hair products like I use to, now that I have youtube. The reason that I bought them was to find something that made my hair healthy and managable. I don't mind people becoming rich but not on my ignorance or lack of knowledge. We can be helpers on to another and share info.
I love your hair. It's so thick and long. I have been transitioning to natural hair for almost 5 months now. I need suggestions on what products to use for my natural hair. Which shampoo and conditioner do you use for your hair?
enjoyed your video and totally understand what your saying. I feel the person who your responded to because I went from buying a hair grease that cost between 2-4$ and now my oil that I use is 8$. While that may not seem much that is a difference and you spend more time on your natural hair. I am using Taliah Waajid & its an african healing oyl & it has the same ingredients you mentioned. My hair is still light and soft before and after applying the oyl.
i only use shea butter to lock my twists because it has that natural waxy feel to it
its better to use all organic materials: oils that arnt commercially made but its important that u use it correctly that way ur hair feels great but also looks great as well
Thank you so much. I was starting to feel alone on the whole Carol's Daughter/ expensive products thing. When I first went natural (not knowing much then) I ended up spend a little over 80 bucks on some little itty bitty bottles from carol's daughter for my hair to laugh at it. I had to do my research....
omg i looove ur hair! my hair can take shea butter and other moisturizers like that, it makes it soft. it is good to avoid mineral oil and petrolatum. i dont need expensive products. the stuff i need thats good for my hair i can just get at a beauty supply store. do u braid ur hair every night tho to make it look like that? cuz i have to
I agree with what you say. I do like to experiment though, and to find what works I think that's fine. ^-^ I don't use too many things in my hair. After washing it, 2 products go in it and 1 is liquid shea butter (lmao) but it's wonderful to help reduce frizz along with my Herbal Essences (love this stuff to death).
Carols Daughter sucks.... You are right in the sense that CD is almost the same as Drugstore products, ingredient wise.
That product recommended isn't good either, if you are going to use a product with Propylene glycol you might as well go ahead and still use mineral oil.
I feel like if you want hair products that aren't expensive you are most likely have to mix & make them yourself, which to is inexpensive. Most things can even be found in a grocery store. And will last a long time too.
Thank You for speaking the truth! :o) so many people think u hve to run out and buy the most expensive thing to stay natural when as u stated all u have to do is read the label. BTW: I use bio infusion olive oil shampoo and LOVE it!
Love it... I been transitioning for 3 months now an looking for a product that is good and cheap... But, I uderstand where your coming from if you jut take care of your hair your wouldnt have to go all natural and buy those things
I use Shea BUtter but you have to melt it and mix it with oils, then it's not waxy. Depending on ur hair u can make it to suit ur hair. I do know some ppl w long hair that still use petroleum based products tho. I used to use grease mineral oil and my hair was still healthy but I do notice that now that I've stopped my hair is not weighed down. I think mineral oil wont hurt ur hair, but it wont nourish like Olive oil or avocado oil. Just take GOOD care of ur hair.
I found letting it (shea butter) sit at room temp then adding oils to it and mixing it is really great! WHen I was melted the shea butter and added the oils it was an oily mess (in my opinion).
Since I have gone natural, I have spent less money on hair products. When my hair was relaxed, I spent tons of money buying and trying different hair products.
lanolin functions the same as mineral oil, petroleum, and silicons. There all referred to as "plastic wrap" by some chemist in the way it coats the hair and blocks out moisture. Propylene glycol is a cosmetic form of of mineral oil (petroleum derivative). My tip for cheap natural products is don't always buy products for "afro hair" their going to charge you an arm and a leg for it. Buy products like Giovanni and Aubrey organics don't discriminate .
pure shea butter suffocated my hair and made it brittle which my hair is never brittle. So never again. And it was raw shea butter straight from ghana
Thanks so much for this response...I just recently went natural and went insane buying all these products to make my hair "healthier". I had to pause and really look at the things I was buying. I stopped the insanity and bought simple rosewater and glycerine which my hair loves!!! I have a simple regimen and love the way my hair feels. Best of all....I'm not broke! LOL!
Well said love this video some people needed to hear that..lol..some people seem to be panicking about hair products. carols daughter products don't work for my daughters hair the black vanilla the only one that works so i just don't buy it at all.
@AbsolutelyNameless I totally agree with you. The items in your cupboard are really all you need. I make my own shampoos and moistures and it works for me. Those items go a LONG way.
I enjoyed you insight hair products and it was very informative. I am one of those Carol's Daughter users but before I "go broke" after I use up what I brought I will go on a cheaper venture. Although I have been natural for about 7 years with dreads I just recently cut them off considering perming but changed my mind after watching so many tubers it caught my interest to stay natural and I am learning so much. By the way your hair is BEAUTIFUL!!!!
Thanks I needed this cause I was just thinking about buying some new products.

I can understand the frustration of going natural and trying to find products to restore the health of my hair. Sometimes I feel that it's too late for my hair because i'm 24 and I been natural for a year and I feel like I'm stilling learning how to take care of my hair.

You don't have to go broke to go natural.
ladye1218 7 months ago
I have about 5 products I use. Shea Butter (once every week to stretch), Shampoo (every 2 weeks), Rinse-out conditioner (once a week), Leave in (make it-mixing stretches the product too), and hair lotion (daily). I might spend 60 bucks every other month. Less than I used to spend on fast food and it all goes on my grocery list. I don't buy clays, hennas, proteins tmts, and masks, too scared.

Question .. If you don't comb when dry .. how do you detangle ???
whatchulookingatshaw 8 months ago
@whatchulookingatshaw
Mist it with a oil and water mixture. You want it to elastic so you can stretch it to unravel without it breaking. At least thats what I do. I got that tech from mummy:). Go slow too, seduce your hair!
BeaSiegal 7 months ago
Finally someone says it ! I was overwhelmed with all the products these women on youtube use. I too was close to broke :-). I am however still trying to figure out my own hair regimen. Enlightening.
P.S. What island younna from? ;-)

I want to say that the one thing I MUST have is virgin coconut oil. that and water I would be good!

you're in your 30's? you look younger! on another note, I'm transitioning and I find that it is cheaper to go natural than having to get relaxer retouches every 6-8 weeks, etc. there are many good products out there that don't cost an arm and a leg.
TheLboogie01 10 months ago
I make my own hair products...there is no way in hell I 'll spend so much money on these other products. Basically, check the ingredients from those natural hair care products, and research homemade hair shampoo recipes, and concoct your own recipes. First thing is the distilled water, then about 3/4 cp depending on the thickness N length of hair castille shampoo, oils, and essential oils. That's it.
SoftWhisperss 10 months ago 4
also either buy or use your local library and find a book on homemade hair and body products.

@luckynumbr13 Anything that contains mineral oil such as grease. Alot of black hair care products in general contain mineral oil.

ChiChivonchichi 1 year ago
Lol. So true. I use the cantu products, very affordable and add my olive oil and other oils in my leave in. I've been natural for two years and my hair is just past shoulder length. The high price products don't grow your hair or make miracles happen it's the attention and tender love you show your hair.

what do you mean you don't comb out your hair when it's dry ?is it a bad thing?
bitchiteen 1 year ago
@bitchiteen yes!! if you comb it when its dry it will be a whole lot harder to do and you cause alot more breakage that way.. thats why its best to do it when its wet
polarBEAR819 1 year ago
@polarBEAR819 well when you comb your hair when wet ...youre streching the hair causing it to tangle and break ....so no it's not best to do it when wet only if it's with a wide tooth comb.....and with dry hair i think its better to comb it when you have some type of conditioner or oil in it for less breakage...
bitchiteen 1 year ago
@bitchiteen correct.

...would like it if it were lighter. :)
najintrigue 1 year ago
Great video! my hair is much like yours in that it likes a LITTLE oil but anything more than that and it's heavy or greasy. when I was growing up my mom used to grease my hair and scalp frequently and I hated it, even though she changed from mineral oil based grease to coconut oil. My hair just needs a little oil and a lot of moisture and I honestly use suave naturals conditioners as my leave in with a little gel added to frizzier areas on top and I get great results! As for Shea, my hair

i keep seeing these two "lanolin or linalool" ingredients in many cleaning detergents. i d rather study my hair type and the best ingredients for hair, in general, then try to create my own with help from ppl who are already doing it. btw "fragrance" is not one product. it consists of maybe 10 other ingredients, believe me. this is not easy of course but africans need to know that it s not gonna be easy getting back the cultural history, richness and beauty that was erased.

Do you think that washing natural hair daily is good?
melane03 1 year ago
@melane03
It depends. If your using a sulfate shampoo, absolutely not. If you aren't, then you should be able to wash your hair at least once a week. If you really want to cleanse it daily, you can always co-wash which is basically using a conditioner instead of a shampoo to cleanse your hair.

Chelleybean1 1 year ago
Shea butter products make my hair softer and its a good moisturizer. Grease doesn't moisturize or make your hair soft. It does just was it says.....it greases you like a car engine. It doesn't prevent you hair from growing, (my hair has always been long) but there are no benefits from it's use. The only reason it was created originally was as a lubricant for the straightening comb to glide through your hair. I looked it up.
TRENZ2 1 year ago 12
I think Carol's Daughter's product were better when they were indie because I believe their formula changed up once they started producing mass quantities. The price they paid to go commercial. BTW I hate shea butter on my hair, its good for skin but for my hair I can't take it. The smell, the way it just sits on my hair. I know everyone's downing "hair grease" but that stuff works wonders. I don't use it anymore because the oil always gets on my face and causes break-outs but I love it.
boomboomgirl 1 year ago

@kharyzma4u
I found letting it (shea butter) sit at room temp then adding oils to it and mixing it is really great! WHen I was melted the shea butter and added the oils it was an oily mess (in my opinion).

@rayeovlight Hey there and @kharyzma4u if you you don't want an oily mess you can let the mixture cool in the refrigerator for a couple hours.

LOL!

Well said! Your hair is proof that we do not need to go over the top top have good healthy hair!
There are some products in my food cupboard that works fine for me, like extra virgin olive oil coconut oil/milk, honey, to name but a few.
People should think about the moral implications when it comes to perming a child's hair, we need to ask! who are they perming the child hair for?
Thank you!
Peace!
