In any case, those who claim famine haven't met their burden of proof. If three million starved to death, just getting rid of the bodies would show up on satellite, particularly if the other 22 million were too weak to work.

According to the ROK constitution the "South" Korean government is the legitimate government of the entire Korean peninsula, which means everyone in North Korea is entitled to ROK citizenship. If the conditions in the north itself arise that would make unification possible (i.e. a revolution), South Korea won't be able to stop it.

China will prevent reunification as long as it can, but if there is a revolution in the north unification will be a de facto reality and china won't be able to stop it. go to the Korea Times website, there are several articles saying Kim Jong Il may have been assassinated, which means there are people within the current system who want drastic change in NK. for a "Dear Leader"/God to be a target of assassination by his own people...does not bode well for the survival of the regime
