@lukeslonergan This is a trailer for a movie, not a documentary. It is a dramatization that is loosely based on the life of the main character that hi-jacked the bus in Rio. Maybe you confuse this film with the actual documentary? Or perhaps you confuse films based on true stories to be documentaries, in general?
@TheBandita43 The story is the same, I know in other coutries black people have more oportunities they have choices and it happen to end up bad. Well I will say tits not racism but from the moment slavery stopped in Brazil- we still have economic problems, the probability of you change your status, and have education is lower, and it s not because they dont want, its because we dont have opportunities, the schools are pretty bad, the conditions, teachers, and many things, thefamily support
last stop 174 is an over-hyped, consumerist, "docu-drama" but lets not even call it that, that would give it too much credit, whether is was from the skewed childhood of sandro, to the sensationalized romantic love story, this movie lost me within 20 minutes, you want real tension Bus 174, same story except much closer to the truth
you REALLY SHOULD watch 'BUS 174' which is the actual, real footage of that terrible event as it is a documentary, but very cleverly pieced together by director jose padillha,it also tells you the actual truth of the futility of Sandro's(perpertrator)life up untill that point-CHECK it out-the truth is out there!
Just found out about this version. Last Stop version. You're right Bus 174 is the truth. Raw footage, blow by blow. Padilha did a great job as always. If I do end up watching this new version it is only because of Bráulio Mantovani. He, Padilha, and Hector Babenco are my favorite ones to follow
if youre in shock from the movie version-you should watch the documentary-'BUS 174' by jose padillha!it is gripping from beginning to end!also with interviews with the passengers and sandros family etc.and proves that the police are useless murderers!
Is the movie on netflix

Watching the documentary, it gets nuts at the end. The general public are fucking bigger monsters and creeps than the street kids.
