this guy is a negative face for this movement. i was ready to put up a tent and protest fee increases. i was ready to protest the fact that my close friends were pepper sprayed. characters like Brown have given the demonstration a negative undertone that keeps me from being on the quad.

"Professor" Nathan Brown is completely clueless. 1. Chancellor Katehi did not order the use of force, what she directed was for the peaceful enforcement of campus safety policies. 2) The police officers were not brought onto the campus from outside, they are employees of the university. I guess if you dismantle the police department, there would just be no crime on campus. What are you trying to prove, Nathan Brown?

What an idiot. Katehi should go but order all police force off campus? Believe it or not, the police do spend most of their time protecting students and not pepper-spraying them. What UCD should do after sacking Katehi is rebuild the bridges between the administration (including UCD police) and the student body - they are all on the same side. @MCPetruk I was there, the PA system they had was not loud enough for everyone in the huge crowd to hear. The people on stage at one point specifically asked the crowd to use the human mic to try to make it so that everyone could hear.
