First, this is NOT a 'loach' (or more technically correct, an OH-6 'Cayuse'). The OH-6 / Hughes 369 has a 'V-Tail' not the 'T-Tail' seen here (indicative of a Hughes 500D or later variant).
Also, at 13 knots faster than a standard UH-1, I would say the OH-6 could outrun the Huey in straight and level flight, but with the maneuvering being performed, I would also say neither aircraft are performing at peak performance. Definitely agree with the sports car and pickup analogies though.

We just visited a boarder patrol helicopter pilot stationed at Alpine, TX. We learned that OH6 "Loach" is still in service for the border patrol. He showed us a Loach, and he loves this small helicopter. This Loach is used in Veitnam, and still in service!

The Hues 500MD is much faster. Love that chopper. Look for it in Blue Thunder as well, where they attach two 30mm cannon

Loach, my favorite helicopter, it's like a sports car. Cobras are faster but more like flying a pickup. The Huey is like flying a slow pick up.
