The thing about this solo is that Daniel reliazes that hey im at a nickelback concert with a bunch of drunk people listening to me...i should just play fast and hard. Daniel can play polyrhythmic and odd time solos he just knows that this isn't the time for that kind of drumming
I saw him at a guitar show two years ago, he was playing with some serious chops laden fusion, he's the real deal, a badass motherfucker. this is a NICKELBACK gig you fucking retards, the drum solo will reflect such, it`s called versatility and being able to play the right thing for the right gig. to all you nameless losers with the gall to think you`re better than he is, keep dreaming little dreamer.
It is mediocre yes, it's not too creative, but its technical and it entertains the crowd. That's more what counts; entertaining. It's what Nickelback do afterall.

@LordOfTheDrums ahahahahaha omfg that is so true, i did a "clinic" for my old school and if i play technical stuff they get bored but if i play flashy hip hop beats its amazing. yet if i play flashy hip hop beats in front of other drummers they say that was nice, but if i pull out technical rudiments and use poly rhythms then i get actual questions and compliments. so its true when they tell you know when to play what and dont get carried away. discipline is key.

Vinnie paul (when he was wid pearl), Joey Joridson, Virgil Donati any1 u want and compare the sound of their drums to the sound of nickelback, rush, trivium, opeth, avenged sevenfold, etc (any dw drummer). First of all the reference series toms r NO patch on dw. They r completely flat drums, they don't give the quality and bass dw give. Listen 2 the artists I named..

Ryan Vickedal was much better in Nickelback. He's technic is ideal,like in schoolbook,he play more cleaner and accurate. Why he dont play in NB? Anybody knows???
I was on the opposite side of the stage,probably a little bit further back but not much,and a liitle closer to the centre if ya get me?A guy right in front of me caught one of his sticks and literally everyone around me got a pick!The lads i came with all got a couple,i was pissed i didn't!But i did get beer down the back of my tshirt..that was pretty cool!;)

pearl sucks, dw is better! He has the VLT/X Shell, and pearl is 2 flat, not like dw which is fatter sounding, much more bass and better quality
