Christianity lived peaceful in the middle east until Mohammad established the first Caliphate and attacked in all directions (Europe, Africa, India). If Muslims weren't allowed to come to Europe, they would just have fought their way in, like they tried in Greece, Spain, France, Italy and later in the Balkans, hundreds of years before European countries started colonizing other continents.
