Why do Aus & US still use the old book of lies.I have a digital Tacograph here in the UK&it is impossible to over run unless you been stuck in a jam as it bleeps warnings at you telling you how long you got left. Also a touch of a button tells you how much driving you got.It records drive, other work&rest. It saves a hell of alot of paperwork & storing the old discs we used to use.Alot of drivers resisted them, but its made my life a hell of alot easier.Cops r still cunts worldwide tho , thats true
@oscarfish38 The Australian government knows very well they couldn't leave us stranded in the heat only a few miles from a town because our hours have run out. With the logbooks you can risk it if you have to drive a bit more and it is a good source of revenue if a traffic cop happens to pull you over for a check. In a couple of states here they don't even have logbooks and there are no more accidents than anywhere else.
@gm16v149 I read ya brother , alot like here.. you caught between a rock and a hard place. Traffic violations here in the UK are just looked at as a revenue raising exersise & truckers just accept it as an ocupational hazzard. I think the clowns who draw the "rules" should have spent at least 10 yrs behind the wheel of a wagon before they even given the powers of Parliment. Personally I,d rather plant a bar stool in thier teeth tho. It,d get the message across quicker. Save drivin bro.
It's quite amazing............there may be well over 8500 miles that separates our continents,.....and we both drive on opposite sides of the road ,but yet.....your Australian D.O.T. officers seems to suffer from the same lack of common sense as the Ontario (Canada) D.O.T officers here!!!!
Our old log book was styled on the American one, but they've bought out this new book & driving hours rules which could only have been thought up by a completely out of touch bureaucrat on "Yes Minister" if you've ever seen that TV show.
Burpengary in qld is shocking, they sit there and don't even give you a sign to come in, mostly just get you on the uey, call you up to come in, so if you're not on 40 ( which most of the time you're not because of the dickheads on there ) you miss the call then Evil Kenivel comes for ya!! nice big fine for not pulling into the bridge!!
cant you drive 14 hours a day in australia?. no need to cheat then, we can drive 9 in europe and then have to stand still for 11. thats the main rule, but there is some aditiones to that.
LOL, That is exactly what it's like too. A cop will let 50 cars pass him speeding, just to catch the one truck that may have a logbook violation. Good job Chris.

It's 12 hrs a day normally, but if you do a course it's 14 hrs, or up to 16 hrs occasionally.
All the states have different rules.
The new hours regulations they've just bought out are almost impossible to understand.
