The everlasting Dragon is very interesting, I watched the intro again last night and I just noticed that he was there since the "Ash Lake" wasn't formed yet. And those archtrees are very interesting too, they weren't hollowed like in the game.

all the fire keepers are girls? so the everlasting dragon isn't the keeper to the bonefire thats in the great hallow? idk i haven't tried to kill him or nothin lol

@Themarinechaos That's what I said - but someone mentioned that we have several "fires" that give us 10 flasks. :U The one outside of gwynevere's room, the dragon covenant one, and a couple of others. However, the knightess in arno londo mentions "female firekeepers" and how they cannot meet face to face. I have a feeling its in reference to specific NPCs. However, for all I know that dragon could be a lady dragon haha.

@ThatVoodooThatIDoDo Noo I wouldn't take it that literally. Butterflies are more than just sanity. Butterflies - like in the situation of the story I told or in Fatal Frame - are messengers of a recently deceased person.

Havel was locked in that tower by a friend when he went hollow. He became crazy so he's 'friend' thought it would be best for him to be locked up

@PropaneWP If you look at the text of the key that is used to "unlock" Havel, it says that he went hollow and was locked by "a dear friend". I believe the dear friend is the smith that possesses the key -the one who is dead (after the Moonlight Butterfly fight).

@Carnophage Nope, his friend was gwyn, and he might have also locked him up because he wanted to kill seath after he went hollow.

@Carnophage Nah, like everyone said, "Gwyn" was that friend. The Smith didn't possess the key to the actual tower - just to a certain part of the forest. Keep in mind, the "locked" door is actually at the start of the Undead Burg / Parish level which you can unlock with the starting key item. :) The only relationship mentioned in any text is that of him and Gwyn.

Havel is locked in the tower/cellar by "a close friend", so I guess that is the reason why he isn't killing Seath :p

I was gonna write a bit on how I think it's funny how symbolism has parallels in different cultures despite them having isolated histories, but there's not much room to write here. I'll just cut and paste from the wikipedia butterfly page instead:

@Magus322 Unfortunately I am/have not. :( I've only watched Wing, 8th MS team, f91, G gundam, mobile suit gundam, anddd that's it. I never got around to watching Destiny / Seed etc etc. I am really excited about watching Zeta and Turn A though since I love Tomino.

@remoteviewer6 Yes. :) I kind of wish it had a multiplayer / arena option like extreme vs. That's what really made the game stand out for me. Otherwise I think I'd enjoy playing Armored Core in terms of atmosphere / story. They're a bit more clunky, but it feels right. Curious to see what they can contribute to the gundam series.

@Magus322 Baha its okay. G-Gundam was my first. Wing aired in America before G-Gundam, but being a kid at the time a lot of the political undertones of Wing couldn't hold my attention. G-Gundam was just absolutely insane enough to catch my attention. Though I can readily admit it was one of the worst gundam series in terms of story hahaha. But it holds a strong place in my heart.
