@ELECTROHOUSEMADE These man shot an average of 2 rounds per second from the first shot to the last. One of them was shot 29 times. Law enforcement doesn't carry those types of weapons or ammo.

Dumb cops with pistols. No body armor will stop a .300 winchester mag. Get on a roof or stay out of range of the AK's 7.62x39 and blast them. Oh! but LAPD wasn't issued those higher calibers! So stay out of range and have 1 officer go get some better rifles.
Don't know what catagory of armer they had on but it was probably only rated for pistols, atleast use a AR15 in .223

If the robber just fled, and they totally could, seeing at every cop on that day had to duck for cover and no one was able to put them down; the robbers were exposed and not moving (imagine how hard it would be to shoot them in a ca). For the cops, it would've been a win for them too: nobody got shot. The robbers could be catch later.
These guys really wanted to fight and shoot back, and they died.
