That is why the ph of the oceans are getting lower, causing acidification and threatening the world's reefs. Combined deforestation and fossil fuel emissions are pumping billions of tons of CO2 annually. Our atmosphere is tiny; when you fly an airplane at 35000 feet, 90% of the atmosphere is under your feet...

Duh. Yes people and animals exhale CO2. No big deal. Really. The only problem occurs when you dig up tons and tons and tons of the stuff and add it to the atmosphere at the rate of a few tons per human per year. Speaking as an engineer who aced heat transfer, to say CO2 does not cause warming is like saying your blanket doesn't work. Climate change is a tremendously complicated issue. I will say that. The fact that increasing atmospheric CO2 traps heat--is simple.

hardly- co2 just in proportions actually makes up only a tiny part of greenhouse gases which make up less than %3 of atmosphere. the other 90some% of greenhouse gas is water vapor which has an effect many times greater than co2 due to its sheer size & difference in amount. but if global temperature was depended only on these 1 or 2 factors, then how the hell can u explain ALL the past climate changes? after a while of getting warmer, it gets cooler, & after gettin cooler, it gets warmer

its definitely not thru co2- although co2 may b a potent greenhouse gas by itself, the very moment u start mixing in other gases like oxygen, nitrogen, water vapor & dust etc, the warming just logarithmically tapers off b/c other factors exponentially hav a far greater influence than a little co2.

I am curious how CO2 is not a Greenhouse gas. Saying it doesn't cause warming is like saying a blanket doesn't cause warming. It is a fact that energy radiated by the sun is not absorbed by CO2. When it is reemitted from the Earth the frequency is such that the CO2 molecule does absorb it and reradiates it in every direction. Including back to earth. Saying this is wrong is basically saying all of process engineering is nonsense. Understanding heat transfer is how civilization makes food.

I've talked to people that believe in global warming about the emails and they have not affected their beliefs at all. I was happy when I heard about this but I don't think it will change a thing. I'm convinced Gore could be caught on tape calling these people idiots for believing him and they would still believe global warming.
