I agree with you to an extent. But...isn't a client someone who hires you for a service? My clients hire me to perform shows for them ( Marionettes). They hire me, tell me what they want, pay for my service, i show up, do what they request. That's a client. I am a client of many businesses also. I don't like the current PC term for handicapped people 'consumers' makes them sound like cows. I prefer client. But i suppose customer is more empowering.

I agree with that concept as customer allow us to have freedom of choices.
