@Angelmkd1 What happened when you typed in your gateway port into the address bar? Some modems that the internet company gives you doesn't work properly. The Modems are Built in routers but some ISP's block the web interface of it. You might have to access your isp site to see if they have port forwarders in it for your account. Cables like Time Warner (Road Runner) have that on some of their SMC modems.
@KrOuPTcHiiLD If it is an ip conflict that would mean your ip address is the same as another ip address from another device. Try going to control panel, network connections and try disabling and then re enabling.
@parasashfaq If you set it up and never changed the username or the password it would be default. you can find the default username and passwords on the portforward (dot) com site. If someone else did setup your router and never told you the password and they cannot remember it. You would need to do a hard reset which would be to hold down the reset button for 30 seconds. When you do a hard reset it would erase anything you put into the router such as wireless name,password or custom ports
@mitchyb90 are you sure 192.168.1.1 is your router ip? to check go to the command prompt and type ipconfig and it will tell you your gateway ip. if 192.168.1.1 is your gateway try it with htt p
@nargarothfreak666 The problem i see, is that portfoward is for routers. You are using a modem. Modems do not need ports to be opened because all ports are (except from what the internet company blocks). When you use a modem the only thing that closes ports is your firewall on the computer.
@nargarothfreak666 what is your default gateway? go into command prompt (press start, run, cmd) and type ipconfig. It would load up with your default gateway under local area connection. Also your modem seems to be a dsl line. which to me doesn't seem possible to get 20Mbps. If you can get me anymore information that would be helpful.
@Jjmonkeygamesnstuff1 If you look under the router there is normally a section that has model and serial number. Other routers would have the model number on the front corner of the router.
@LV30000 you will know what router you have when you try to access the web page. It would say Linksys Wrt54g or netgear, etc... The easiest thing to do is find your cable/dsl modem and find the router attached to it. Some modems have routers built in like the Verizon Fios modem.
with mac you can still use the same setup as i showed you on windows. Another way is to go to HDD> Utilities > Network Utility > Apple> System Preferences> Network

portforward dos not have all the routers
my router is not on the site i cant acces my modem because my modem is not in the list. so thats fucked. but thanks anyway.

and that type is not on the list. so if you can help me please because i want to have faster internet.

well the thing is my modem got a build in router
and thats fucked up. if i close my fire wall my internet speed is not going faster
it got the same speed as normal. i have 20Mb connection. but can download max only wwith 832 KB
and that sucks. so maby you know what i can do?
