you should get that remapped as spitting flames may look cool but it is bad for the engine! an engine shouldn't backfire, you are running the wrong fuel:air ratio or the timing is out causing your valves to be out of sync meaning that the explosion that should happen in the combustion chamber is also coming out the exhaust. so you will be loosing power.

It's not a real backfire if you've had to remove the fuel sensor. It's just overfueling.

If you cant do it naturally without trying, your engine just aint good enough! Dont piss about with your fuel mixture.

if u read the info box at the side of the video u would see he says its a 4-2-1 manifold so it wont have a cat (at least not an OE 1) as the standard cat is integrated into the standard manifold.

so by the sounds of it hes fitted the mongoose cat back onto the 4-2-1

Again, you know nothing, as a N/a car with a full exhaust can spit flames on over-run without being knackered or over fueling. All you'd need to do is blip the throttle when overrun catches... as for turbo'd cars, if they got an exhaust system, they'll almost certainly pop flames, with or without antilag,

Now, as for you, good2go, i was giving examples of WHY cars DO backfire, and why it isnt a bad thing, overrun causes backfires in Na cars as well as turbo'd etc etc. Dude, im right.

It depends why the flames are occuring, if the mixture aint right then yeah they arent the flames you'll want however it depends on the performance parts you've fitted, Ferrari's and all other quick cars split flames, depends on the context.

most 'vee' engines (like ferrari) spit because the order that the pistons fire.

because there is four strokes and 4 cylinders there is only one piston fiing at once.

This is also why u get the nice sound from anying that isnt 4 cylinder.

err dont think thats right mate on the old r1 it has 4 pistons which 2 fire alternately, but on the new 09 one they created a cross plane crank which means its firing on all cylinders all the time creating a smoother aceleration curve and better sound

@good2go40 its not a problem, caused by valve overlap where the inlet and exhaust valves are open at the same time briefly all cars have it but the exhaust causes the flame by igniting fuel that makes it through

not as fast, but id say they handle better. Interior is a bit plain, ie no recaros etc but the exterior and wheels look spot on. Still its not an RS :p
