In fact, the verb is "s'appeler" . It's a pronominal verb with the complement pronoum "se" that turns in " s' " before a vowel like in "Appeler" > "S'APPELER" . The verb without the pronoum, "appeler", means "to call"... you forgot to say that.

@lucliter You are right! ''Je m'appelle'' would be in fact ''I am called''. But since this is a more difficult grammatical notion, we prefered not giving too many complicated details in the first lesson... we wouldn't want to scare you about the french language right away!! ;)

Doll I have an idea that you can use to Teach.

Tell Full stories in French read from like a book. Put the English Translation on the bottom and French on top. Use a good mic and maybe sit closer to the screen so it doesn't echo.
