  • i dont get it

  • UPDATE......... sorry I didn't point this out in my previous post, but when you listen to the "Hard Day's Night" version of this song, the mistake is not there.

  • He laughed a little at the end of the line "was in vain" because of how high he had to go with that last note on the word "vain"...... no mistake but interesting.

  • He actually does make a mistake in another song ob la di ob la da he missings he accidentally says Desmond does his pretty face instead of Molly

  • @deathbackwardsify Nope. It was his sense of humor to switch genders in the song. He wrote it that way on purpose.

  • @iPhoNeptune I think you're right. If you listen closely, he does that a lot while they're singing.

  • Oh.......this is totally cool. In my whole 56 years of life (less the few years prior to the recording of "If I Fell") I've heard this flub. There is another vesion where this is not heard. Until now, no one I've ever pointed this out to had never noticed. Sir Paul is King! But nice to know he is human.

  • don't quit your day job.

  • It wasn't really a mistake. He laughed actually :D

  • Mistake? What mistake?

  • Actually I noticed that mistake too. This was taken from the remastered version of A Hard Days Night and I this song is one of my favourites on that album and when I heard the remastered edition (which sounds excellent with John's double track voice) I noticed I heard Paul choke or something on that verse which wasnt on the older CD or Record version. But either way, it is an excellent song!

  • waste of viable internet resources

  • Uhhh... Where's the mistake? If you're referring to the harmonizing, that's pretty normal. Especially for The Beatles

  • I think you made the mistake. Harmony...

  • he almost choked on his spit that happen to me sometime when i record

  • he start to laugh, always he laugh in recording, he cant above it

  • I didn't get it?!

  • I didnt hear it, what is it?

  • @beatlesgirl104 Me neither!

  • The thing your referring to as a mistake is called harmony... Where 2 vocalists use different tones of the same note to sing the same word...

  • Lol I didn't even hear any mistake XD

  • Lol I didn't even hear any mistake XD

  • Lol I didn't even hear any mistake XD

  • Thats not a mistake. It is his voice cracking. Happens to singers a lot.

  • oh... :>

  • There is another version where Paul' doesn't crack. Different mixes.

  • I cant get it, cos japanese me hehe...

  • @anayamamasayuki he starts to laugh

  • Paul's voice gives out on the high note in the word 'vain'. This is only on the stereo master; the mono mix corrects this.

  • There is no mistake at all.

  • where is the mistake !?!?!!??!

  • what fucking mistake???

  • I was too busy listening to John's deep bass vocal, which couldn't have been done better.

  • wtf

  • They mess up a lot and their songs still kick ass!

  • yeah, he messes up in Please Please me too. So what? he still is a genius <3

  • I love that mistake. Paulie is amazing because of everything. Even that.

  • This is a joke, RIGHT ??

  • Oh wow that's crazy! Omgggg!! lol just kidding, I don't care.

  • I've always heard that mistake Paul makes. Oh well, he is human after all.

  • What mistake? Can you elaborate?

  • Don't mess with imperfection.

  • It's not about how good you play or how good you sing, it's about how good it sounds and the emotional transferance.

  • i barely caught the "mistake" but i think it was on purpose

  • is it a mistake if he meant to do it? smart singers vary the variety.

  • what?

  • what is the mistake?

  • HOLY SHIT hes human?

  • what's the mistake? none of the beatles had great voices :P they just wrote weird songs that don't make too much song... "i am the walrus"?!?! they were just having fun and getting high :P

  • @MrNocco That is the most retarded thing i have ever heard. The Beatles were more artistic then anyone the last 100 years. And they had remarkable voices. Anyone with a little musical knowledge should be able to see that, even if they don't personally like their voices.

  • @MrEspenBakke oh cmon they didnt have that good voices, sure they werent bad, but it's not their voices that made them big it was their music and beats and weird lyrics that people could interprete the way they liked :P

  • @MrNocco I can see how people say they're not great technical guitar players, but they're voices are truly good in many ways. Maybe you can explain why they're not great singers.

  • @MrEspenBakke i don't know, their voices just don't seem that special to me.... compared to other singers that were known especially for their voices such as whitney houston for an example :P

  • @MrNocco well ok, i don't know if your a beatles fan and know their songs but you should check out Paul. He's definitely a great singer. On songs like Oh Darling, helter skelter, i'm looking through you, got to get you into my life. And John's a great singer because there's so much passion: My favorite is Dont let me down.

  • @MrEspenBakke paul? you mean faul? :P

  • @MrNocco hahah die please.

  • @MrEspenBakke c'mon i'm joking :P

  • @MrNocco yeah i got it.

  • @MrNocco please, don't make your own opinion as truth it's just your opinion

  • @MrNocco John had an amazing voice. Paul did too. And George. Ringo was good too. Are you talking about the right band?

  • Hey I noticed that too the first time I heard it

  • Comment removed

  • Great catch! I've listened to this song at least 500 times and I never heard that giggle until today.

  • oh come on.. seriously?

    get a life..

  • Paul's mistakes are too amazing to be called mistakes.

  • This is the most famous voice crack by Paul on their US hits. Did you think you discovered it? Hey, I discovered gravity.

  • you cant really say tht when u hear it in mono ha ha ha

  • paul doesn't make mistakes now faul is a different story

  • @christian661199 Shut up about 'Faul' already!!!! There is no FAUL, there never WILL be a FAUL. Paul is alive, and FAUL ISN'T!! Catch my drift?

  • @squeeky95 i was joking come one who ever believes in faul is really stupid

  • the mono recording of "If I Fell"

Because The Beatles hated repetition, they usually twisted the verses (he/she, her/him, etc). This made it challenging to sing correctly. If you want to hear mistakes, go listen to the various studio 'Takes' for their songs. They had fun along the way.

  • When McCartney farts he sounds better than the musicians today. I bet he could even fart out a hit in todays industry.

  • @YesYou123333 well justin bieber did!

  • he's just laughing. wouldn't you if you were a Beatle in the 60's and about to make music history + billions of dollars????????

  • Wow if your voice cracks you just get on with it but no if paul mccartneys voice cracks oh no call the police paul made a mistake my god tisk tisk tisk

  • You're dumb..

  • I always thought he laughed

  • i like your username lol

  • I dont hear a thing... you must be death and plus who cares if he makes a little mistake thats what makes him, well.. him!

  • What? I cant hear it!!

  • to me it sounds like he ran out of air in that part of the song i think there is one version of the song were he sounds normal

  • It's a mistake but who cares...I noticed it the first time I ever heard it. Oh well...

  • It's a mistake. But not a singing mistake. It's an editing mistake made by an engineer. The "mistake" is not present on the English recording.

  • Paul starting laughing on the last note, that's all, no mistake. They were singing this at the same mike, John did something that made Paul laugh.

  • his voice cracks

  • the actual mistake is to post this thinking it was a mistake.

  • doesn't really seem like anything's wrong

  • He Did It On Purpose. Hell He Can Do Whatever He Wants, He Is Sir James Paul McCartney!

  • He hit the note...he just couldn't hold it...

  • wow there was no mistake at all

  • his voice cracked

BUT they left mistakes in their songs on purpose all the time

    nice try.

  • i heard it =D

  • theres nothing...you'd better try something else when you are bored

  • @cuterockingirl what hes saying is when paul says vain his voice kind of goes out

  • @johnwinstonlennon1 @glennjridge @wellitstrue102 By the way it was John's voice not Paul's, he don't have such a deep voice.

  • @TeamMastaPr2 you should be able to tell that it is pauls voice

  • @johnwinstonlennon1 I can hear the differences, it's John Lennon who made the "mistake"!

  • @TeamMastaPr2 obiviously it is pauls voice i cant see why your confused

  • @johnwinstonlennon1 I recognise the voice easily, Paul don't have such a deep voice. It's John god dammit!

  • @TeamMastaPr2 its pauls (the high voice) that messes up

  • @johnwinstonlennon1 I can't hear that Paul makes a mistake. John kinda sing "vain" like he drawed the word too long.

  • @TeamMastaPr2 look, im not going to argue with you on something im 100% positive of.

  • @johnwinstonlennon1 Fine, but I'm 100% positive of that's John who's making the **** "mistake".

How to recognise each Beatle's voice:

John Lennon - deep, soft and raspy voice at the same time, powerful

Paul McCartney - soft, high, lingering, powerful voice

George Harrison - soft, sweet voice (John's voice is higher)

Ringo Starr - high, deep "macho" voice (deeper than John)

  • @TeamMastaPr2 oh my god just shut up everyone else knows that it is pauls "mistake"

  • @cuterockingirl no he's right the voice wavers out of tune on the word vain. I notice these things also. it takes people with good ears to hear it.

  • big deal.

  • big deal.

  • It's THIS kind of content that makes me question the wisdom of allowing just anyone to upload videos on YouTube. What a waste of 21 seconds of my life. The mistake made was too late in life to correct for the parents of this self-loving "s----- ass----". We should have known that any content from a member with such a debased and rude User ID would offer video content to match the quality of his name...

  • dude. nice username i guess?

  • Dude the only thing I heard was in the first snippet at the end Paul Laughed. nm

  • Fail.

  • even though he did burst out laughing it still sounded great!

  • That's what makes these recordings great--humans..not computers!

  • i think it sounds better that way :)

  • it just sound like hes running out of air to me ha ha think he saying my love was in vain

  • What was I listening for. You have to be more specific. Some times I think they did things to give it a little edge or uniqueness. The way they need to rhyme like when saw came out as sarw and odd things like that. Nothing unusual for them.

  • I had always noticed theet to, on the mono version it supposedly doesnt do that, so ya.

  • I always notice

  • He's laughing while recording as they always did.

  • Its probably on purpose either in the mixing stage or performance to give the effect from two to one voice to create a fullstop.

  • wat song is this?

  • @myaccountplz3 If I fell ;)

Really great song, actually for me one of the best !

  • its john making the mistake, i know paul's voice. and its the REALLY high voice that's paul's.

  • Comment removed

  • @1lundun You are very wrong.

  • @Sydwayman sorry yeah i it was paul. i make mistake doesnt every one??? well sorry :(

  • You must have been high

  • dude paul is the best living songwriter. of couse hes gonna make a couple mistakes! duh!

  • his voice . .doesnt quite make the full word . vein ...

  • Sorry wrong video

  • It sounds like Paul yelling cord not John

  • ...No mistake detected.

  • @dmenkhau i think paul just laughs while singing the word "vein". that's all it is.

  • where humans people we make mistakes wow

  • i guess he doesnt complete the word vain he says sth like vaih. but i kinda like it when they keep such mistakes in the recordings.

  • Holy shit. He made a mistake?! I thought he was a celebrity! They never make mistakes because they're not human!

  • I don't get the hate for this video...the poster didn't say "WOW PAUL IS A RETARD HE MADE A MISTAKE LOLOLOLOL" he said he made a mistake, listen. Calm down, I heard the mistake...not a big one at all, I've heard worse in other Beatles songs but it was interesting. And it's not really a mistake...he just stopped singing when John sang. More John's fault.

  • People aren't perfect, I hope you know that. We all make mistakes.

  • ive noticed that without thinking much about it, yeah. kinda chokes just a little bit?

  • I don't consider it a mistake...

Actually, these are the little imperfections that make him PERFECT!!!!

    =P

    X)

  • he was laughing

  • oh yeahh I always noticed that but i thought that it was dust on my vinel record and kept trying to clean it thanx wont have to do that again!!!

  • It's called a crack, you musical illiterates. His voice cracked on the word "vain." On the remasters, this is fixed.

  • there was no mistake, this is the right way...

  • @stonegrooved -Who's owns it?

  • @stonegrooved -What about Eleanor Rigby? What do you think about that?

    Stoney. :)

  • In the Let It Be song there is one chord mistake actually, if you listen to it carefully.

  • sounds like someone made him laugh a little

  • Hey Dude wat is tittle of this song?

  • @Wilife12 The title of the song is If I Fell :)

  • The mistake was that Paul's voice cracked. It is kind of hard to hear but on the song If I Fell you can hear it better. I love you Paul!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep on rockin' :)

  • In Maxwell's Silver Hammer from the Abbey Road album, at one line Paul laughs a bit

  • The original recording of If I fell did not include this vocal crack - it was in making the remasters, the capitol engineer actually used the wrong take - this one - which included this little mess up. The vocal take was returned to the vault without being aware of the issue.

Good ears, not many people catch this kinda thing.

  • I´ve allways heard that Paul didn´t hit the high note with ease, but I liked it, still do; you know what ..Paul did a dubb on that note some twenty thirty years later when they put the songs on CD, I prefer the old version. As long as it is a good vibe and it´s not disturbing, and as someone says here.. I can´t even hear what should be a misstake. Thanks.

  • Better than auto-tuning

  • @HelloMyNameIsMattZ Agreed

  • Always heard that it's great! He laughs...or snickers in Maxwells Silver Hammer too! Right before he sings: "Writing 50 times I must not be so oh oh oh." Paul Laugs and it is cool.

  • so what if he did? The Beatles are/were human just like anyone else and made were mistakes using less technology than crap today where theres lots of technology to fix and prevent mistakes yet the music is aweful. BEATLES 4 EVER

  • Sounds like he ran out of breath.

  • he went a lil too hight. his pitch was off.

  • every Beatles fan knows he couldn't quite hit that high note, doesn't matter.

  • @flarbton Yes he could. Listen to the Mono version of this song. He hits the note perfectly

  • ??? delete this video

  • Sounds like he had a slight crack in his voice right at the end of the phrase?

  • That's the way a natural genius sounds.

  • The "mistake" is just that he cuts short of holding the word "vain" which just makes the song even better. Why does it have to be perfect, polished, and edited?

  • Sounds like his voiced cracked. So what? It's an old recording it's not gonna be perfect.

  • Are you kidding? It's what MAKES the song so great! It's a true signature of their youth and innocence. Its perfect. Wouldn't want it any other way! Thanks Paul!

  • so... theres no mistakes

  • he just probably ran out of breath

  • Everyone messes up. There is no such thing as perfection. You mess up, you move on, laugh about it later. Paul is fantastic and brilliant but of course he will mess up a couple of times, and we will still love him for that ^^

  • I think thats the different vocal level at the end, sorry if you not anderstand, I'm Québécoi

  • are you smoked ? hahah
