  • ladies and gentleman John Lennon is back lol

  • @DJT609 That's what everyone says..... Not a surprise to hear this again.... lol

  • i wouldnt try this agian

  • @nosredna1624 Actually I did, with someone else on the piano.... Didn't had the lyrics at that time, but I just started singin' it, felt I could handle it, but this guy didn't know how to play the whole song, it was just something coming out of nothing and it dissappeared again when he didn't know how to play further... But PLEASE STOP SAYING ANYTHING LIKE; BETTER STOP THIS OR THAT OR STOP TRYING AGAIN!!!!!! It's the strength to keep trying which makes it better.....

  • right??

  • you see; HAVE A LITTLE FAITH IN ME...... okay?

  • Your voice touches me but the piano-playing is too dominantly present and sustained. But seriously, that voice is amazing! And that's something you have or don't have

  • @jungleboogie78 Thank you so much!! Yes, I know, it's a very small room in which I was playing, and I'm not yet very good at using the sustain pedal the right way... Mostly I just leave it pushed down, and only release it at the end of a chorus or verse (allthough I guess I didn't do that that time, but that's almost a year ago). Also singin' and both playing isn't very easy, and well, in that room the piano just sounded much and much louder than my voice... But thanks for aprecciating my voice!

  • wauw, is that your voice.. kinda beatles voice!;)

    nice!

  • @Karin28K Kinda John Lennon perhaps :P

  • Don't let guys like Cathal get to you ;) You can carry a tune fine and the first few minutes I actually enjoyed! Yes it's not perfect, but then again, who is? I know that it is very difficult to play piano and sing at the same time from personal experience and I don't think I need faith to see that if you work on this you will make a great cover. Just a few hints; Try to use the right pedal less or let it go in between chords, it will sound better. Also try to work on the modulation part

  • The modulation part (2:54) is where it starts to sound a little bit off tune. Modulations - or changes in tone - are very difficult to sing, let alone sing & play, just work on that and your pedal use. I think that will improve your recording :). I hope you found my comments helpful, I also learned myself to play the piano and I must say that you can probably play it better already than I can

  • @mauranius Thanks a lot for your usefull comments.... Yes, I also got that idea to do more with the sustain-pedal,

but at that time I had really to concentrate FULLY on playing the right chords AND singing it a bit okay with the feeling which is in the text.... For sure it can't be perfect...... I believe, at the time I found out the right chords, I rehearsed a couple of times on my guitar....

  • @mauranius Then I went to the place where I usually rehearse with my band..... Got only half an hour to use the piano, because afterwards the room was busy...... So I just started the camera, recorded right from the start, and I guess I played the whole song about 5 times.... So actually this is more a record from the best of my first rehearsals of this song, than a really worked out version..... But well, at this time I feel this is good enough.... So much advantages in other songs to do.....

  • @mauranius by the way, at that 2:54, I guess indeed my voice is a bit out of tune, but only for a short time.... What I hear (but of course what I HEAR from myself is different from someone else hearing it) is that I get in tune quite well, the only thing is that there are very high/screamy-like parts in that last section, which you can't REALLY do perfectly in tune, unless you choose to sing them without that emotion John Hiatt uses....

  • It's all in the intention and you knew how you wanted to sing this song. You did a fine heartfelt rendition and the success is in the doing of it! Keep going now and I'd like to hear you do this one again in 6 months cuz everyone has a story and a song to tell and it just keeps gettin' better everyday. : )

  • @anne451 I can't promise I'll do this one again in six months..... There may be other things and other songs on my mind which I'd like to take at my heart and telling them..... Just watch some of my songs from about a year ago.....

They're vere different...... This channel is a story......

  • You did just fine. Just be yourself ( don't copy anyone) and do what your Soul wants to do. The greatest person you're ever gonna meet is Yourself. Let yourself shine through and it's none of your business what anyone else thinks. Just be YOU and that's good enough. You remind me of a young John Lennon. : )

  • @anne451 Thanks very much Anne.... You're comment gives me the feeling you understand....

I don't know what you mean by "don't copy anyone".... Yes, I tried to sing and play this song

kind of the way John Hiatt did.... But that's because I love the way he brings it, and I think

that's the best way.... Taking the feeling he expressed, easy 'cause this song's very close

to my heart.... And that just leads to that I try to do it his way, and not wanting to change

    it to something different....

  • bad singing dude :/

  • @cathalhughes well, I guess it's what you expect from someone who sung this song just for 5 times or so, playing piano along with it, without ever having singing or piano lessons........ but lots of other people told me the total opposite of what you say......... and I wonder if you can do it better....
