Hansun wants Hitler to win, but Hitler's deputy in Norway (Terboven) should be sacked for being too barbaric. Hitler is unwilling to comply.

Jeg prøvde ikke å få hans forfatterskap dårlig. Men det jeg sa ble bare helt feil. Man kan si han hadde en bra side, og en dårlig side. Og den bra var definitivt forfatterskapet hans.

I boka "Victoria", så var han utrolig flink til å skildre indre følelser, på sin måte. Noe som er helt fantastisk bra.

Well for others norwegian and german can sound barbaric, I'm norwegian and compared to danish and swedish, our language isn't exactly a "singing" language. But believe me, norwegians does not sound like goats.

Funny remark :-) I am Danish and to me and many others, Norwegian is the most beautiful of the Scandinavian languages. In contrast to the majority of Danish and Swedish dialects Norwegian is actually singing in my ears :-). By the way, Hamsun wrote in a Norwegian which is closer to Danish than "New Norwegian" is. Hence, I would never dream of reading him in translation.

Bokmål you mean? I personally prefer Bokmål too because I find it easier to understand, (I'm learning Swedish as a casual hobby) but I get the impression that nowadays Nynorsk is considered more distinctively Norweigan. Am I wrong? Please point out if I am. I too think the Norwegian language is the most beautiful among all the Scandinavian languages, especially Nynorsk, it's just that I can't understand a word of it :-(

@h1zchan sorry but bokmål is definitely the dominant one. Though Norway has a lot of very different dialects that might as well be considered independent languages.

he didn't write in Bokmål, he wrote in riksmål, a more danish version of my language, or some other older version of my language. it doesn't matter much, as allways it is all just versions of our dialects and no written language is more correct than the others. my way of talking norway is distinctively norwegian, but it has nothing to do with nynorsk. i speak that eastside oslo dialect, doing it our way. hamsun is one of the greatest, and i hate norwegian culture in general.

I am German myself, so in a sense (your sense) more 'pure' than you are, due to the fact that you are just an American 'culture-mixup', a fake of a German.

I speak Norwegian aswell, and can say that the Norwegian language is everything but "barbarian". It sounds, indeed, millions times better than most of the American-English accents. So learn this language, and learn about Germany.
