  • 2:06-2:10 my favourite part by far.

  • Can someone make a video that is exactly like the clip they showed before Ian came out? I would appreciate it because that was the best clip I ever seen of Darth Sidious.

  • He was my hero as Luke in the late 70's, and has remained that way to this day.

  • Both Megatron and Sidious have the same idealogy. Peace Through Tyranny!

  • @GODCONVOYPRIME in the expanded universe sidious was creating the empire to defend the galaxy against a race of unknown aliens

  • @GodschildJCE Um where and when did you get that info?

  • i can't see that guy anywhere besides star wars

  • "They only give me 1 thing to do, and I screw it up."

  • Stopping the video right before Ian starts speaking. Now that was a rare display of brilliance!

  • So what's CE? and why can't we hear Ian's part?

  • prequels = garbage

  • @ming746 Revenge of the Sith was awesome!!!

  • He was the best thing about the entire Prequel Trilogy.

  • Mark Hamill and Ian McDiarmid are my two favorite actors! Surely, what they did for the SW universe is amazing!

  • Thanks for the video!

  • I like it when they have actors who you would never expect to play a villain to..play a villain...both Heath Ledger and Mark Hamill are 2 people no one would ever expect to play the Joker. Jack Nichelson on the other hand has played many villains before he played the Joker so it's not as much of a surprise.

  • Hamill is a damn good voice actor, actually.

  • When did his voice get so deep?

  • I think he's a nice change of pace in ROTS as far as the prequels go, so maybe he's a bit much during the fights, but when he's turning anakin to the dark side- it's chilling. Either way it's very nice to finally get some actual EMOTION and DEPTH out of a character in the prequels! And not stupid angsty emotion and depth like Anakin, I mean really good stuff only an actor like McDiarmid can supply. There are so many great actors in the prequels- shows how weak the scripts really are.

  • Ian is brilliant:p

  • He was the best thing about the PT.

Screw Dooku, Maul, and Grievous. Sidious is still the best villain ever.

  • @tetrisclock no shit he was their sith lord -.-

  • Marquand got a deliciously evil, yet subtly nuanced performance from Mcdiarmid in ROTJ. Under Lucas' cack-handed direction in SHIT, that effective restraint is completely gone in favour of embarrassing over-the-top theatrics, with the end result being a performance that is pure unintentional self-parody.

  • In the original Episode V, that wasn't McDiarmid. In the rerelease of the Special Edition of Episode V in the 90's was when they replaced the hologram of the Emperor with McDiarmid right before the prequels, right?

  • @mmcgill0415 As far as I understand it McDiarmid played the emperor in Return o the Jedi, but what you're saying about the hologram is true

  • Yea, I found out that in Episode V The Emperor in the original hologram was actually a woman in the makeup with the gaping left eye and this other Brit actor did the voice.

  • Cool video. Mark's a real hoot.

  • "I have one thing to do & I screw it up".

  • It's the same actor.

Go look it up at imdb

  • He must've had a lot of make-up on cause that was 16 years before episode I.

  • It's Ian McDiarmid again, just in lots of prosthetic makeup.

  • That was Ian McDiarmid.

  • I know........... a couple people have already told me on this vid now.

  • Ian McDiarmid gurns and chews scenery as if he was playing Lady Bracknell for the Croydon amateur dramatics society. You half expect him to go 'A Haaaaaandbag?' between pulling stupid faces and talking in silly deep voices. Terrible.

  • Ian helped make the Emperor the greatest villian in cinema history.

  • I wouldn't go that far -

But he his terrific. He was the only improvement Lucas made to the original trilogy.

  • He delivered the performance asked for by the director (Marquand in Jedi, Lucas in the prequels) - rip a strip off them, not Ian! I think he's a great actor.

  • Its a kids film...

  • ...and not a very good one, at that.

  • You must have seen different films. But the image of Palpatine saying "a haaaaaaaaaaaandbag" is hilarious!!

  • I was talking about ian mcdiarmod

  • How under rated is this guy !!! He's one of the best around. But hey , who am i to judge. Lets pile praise on tossers like tom cruise etc etc .

  • or Hayden Christiensen... pfft

  • Theres a reason why hes not in many films thats coz hes a theatre actor and director thats why hes so good all the best actors come from the Theatre hes also a shakespearen actor and yes he is prob the best too ever play a villan in any movie

  • Ian made the last prequel worth it. He is so belieaveable as Palpatine that one forgets he is an actor playing a part and saying his lines.

  • I love Mark Hamill's Joker. I remember the first time I heard that he did the voice of the Joker, I was stunned. He was brilliant.

  • @RoguePlanet

Maybe i'm wierd here, but the debate of "whos the best joker" it hink always leaves out Mark Hamil.

    Ceaser Romero? Bad

    Jack Nickleson? Impressive

    Heath Ledger? Impressive

    Mark Hamil: Best.

  • @RoguePlanet

Yeah, I love that role of his.

  • GO JOKER

  • Well, clearly that's exactly what happened. Yet another "immaculate" conception.

  • Comment removed

  • Considering what transpired in the prequels, is it really that much "in the air"? Shmi's "immaculate" conception, Sidious's complete manipulation of the senate, Federation, and Darth Tyranus to start the Clone Wars, that whole business about Darth Plagueis, his manipulation of Anakin. The only rub in this is how random his discovery was but otherwise I'd think that the lineage is closer to being canon than not.

  • Superb!!!!

  • Lol luke is the emprors??? Friend???? Lol thats weird

  • looks like luke did join the dark side after all!!lol

  • Let's watch the clips...

  • oh yeah cut out when Ian comes to stage >:(

  • Haha, Mark's great!

  • I wish I could be there then. Mark Rocks! Just like everybody from SW Cast

  • LOLZ!

  • That's the one and only time i've ever see the joker voice live love it !

  • Mark Hamill's voice should get a star on the walk of fame next to his

  • where's the rest of it?

  • Yes where is it?

  • My pseudo complete edit of this part of the weekend is finished and you can see it on my video page. I edited Mark Hamill so He looked cooler than he really was on this evening.

I hope you enjoy it. I added the music score, visual sabre effects and a three camera view. Had a lot of fun on stage and finally had a great time editing the effects version.

I welcome you to come and view another perspective of this weekend. Thanks, Duane

  • Mark Hamill rocks.

  • very cool. Mark has still got it!!!!!!!!!

  • That slip up kinda gives you a flavour of the whole outdoor event, eh? Great to see those guys, but why would you have an outdoors event under an airports flight path?

IT was cool when a plane flew over during the opening scene of ANH, not so cool when the screen broke down halfway through the film!
