  • My favourite Crowded House song. Brilliant.

  • @jewsbury87 Yeah, it is a pretty darn good one. Kicks off that album wonderfully!

  • thanks for posting:)

  • CH at their absolute peak. Anyone know if this is available on DVD?

Damn glad they got together again, though -- seen 'em in Nashville once and Chicago twice....

  • Wow, thanks for posting...I used to have this on VHS somewhere but I think I lost it or taped over it or something...awesome!

  • @browneyeddog31 Glad you were able to rediscover it! That is why I posted it. Great performances in this appearance especially of the TA songs. I think I can safely say that in retrospect, looking at the original band's catalog TA is my favorite album of theirs. I think it has held up the best (but of course they are all great!).

  • Thank you ChizelMonkee for this vid, I've been a CH fan for over 20 years. I met them at a radio station in 1991, they were very charming. And saw them in London in concert in 2007

  • Wonderful performance! This is a treasure- thank you!

  • Does anyone know what Mark Hart (the slide guitarist) is holding in his left hand here to slide up and down the strings on the fretboard? I wanna know because he gets a damn good sound out of the guitar with it, one that the song wouldn't be the same without! It doesn't look like a bottleneck because he's holding it between his first and middle fingers instead of sliding it over one of his fingers, anyone know what it is?

    Thanks.

  • I don't think the sound is determined that much by the steel, or tone bar, he is holding, but simply by the fact he uses a proper lap steel guitar. A lap steel guitar is played with a steel rather than with a bottleneck. It just has a tone of its own other than a guitar combined with bottleneck.

  • ClanRewired: ah right, I see. I don't think I've ever seen a 'steel' before, then again I've barely ever used a bottleneck! Thanks for letting me know :-)

  • @AndyB1286 I think that the name of that thing is only SLIDE. If anyone else know other name, please, write down :P

  • @Lixtentain

it's actually called a 'steel', and it can be solid or hollow. solid steels give a very clear and bright tone because of the mass of the steel and the hollow ones give a more mellow tone - the actually resonate slightly.

i'm not totally sure but i think lap steels use solid steels only.

  • one of favourite songs by Crowded House!

    RIP Paul Hester

  • Harsh? Lol, what's wrong with Canadian people? I'm British and I can probably name several British show hosts who'd do a worse job than she does here.

Anyway, Kare Kare is top-quality Crowded House, and it's great the way Together Alone was recorded in a beach hut. Very original. Paul Hester R.I.P.

  • Oh, man, don't ya know not to lump all Canadian into one group?? We're a pretty diverse country, ya know.

  • I had been hoping that one dayone day someone would post this. That day is today! Kare Kare is the best song! Thanks again for hooking us up!

And unfortunately, I have to agree with a few comments below - that host is painful. lol

  • This is actually from 1994 . . .
