  • So much nostalgia

  • Aquaman can fly?!?!?!?

  • AND IN THE LAYER OF EVIL....

  • "Meanwhile, back in Meg's braaaaa........."

  • This parodied at the intro of Family Guy episode Family Goy.

  • Most epic narrating ever introduced to a cartoon intro.

  • I remember watching this in the 90's

  • The invisible jet isn't really invisible, is it? I mean, you know exactly where it is and, of course, if it is indeed invisible how wonder woman would know where the door is...?

    Anyway, AND MEG!

  • aquaman has no powers outside of the sea

  • i really love how Superman's punching comets, batmans riding a zipline, wonderwoman is flying an invisible jet, and aquaman is just riding a seahorse XD

  • really what use does batman have?

  • @thekiko02 He's the World's Greatest Detective.

  • I will always love the Superfriends!

  • hmm i use too want to watch this every night at grandmas when i spent the night now i seem too dont when there on utube now whats wrong wit me HELP!!!! um dont know really.

  • where are the superfriends when you really need them?

  • (Narrators voice): Superman, Batman & Robin, Wonder Woman, Aquaman , (Bored voice): And Meg

  • I consider The Wonder Twins, Gleek, and Windy Marvin and Wonderdog has comic relief. The animation was crude even by todays standards. They all had double chins, lol. Some of the best animation at the time was Tarzan - Lord of the Jungle, Spiderman and his Amazing Friends and The Incredible Hulk. Just my opinion.

  • We lost Green Lantern to get Gleek? Heaven help us.

  • LMFAO... good one! At least he's back in the newer Justice League, which is a much grittier form of fantasy entertainment.

  • and meg

  • LOL....family guy will increase the number of hits on here

  • ...and Meg.

  • why some cartoons had "space monkeys"? not only the superfriends, but also space ghost (to name one).

  • These were the absolute best of times in the world of animation. Today, this would be considered the exception.

  • This represents a serious low-water mark in the history of the medium. Utter shite.

  • "Meanwhile, back at the hall of justice...."

  • Wonder twin powers ACTIVATE!

    Shape of -- A LION

    Form of -- WATER

I miss these cartoons. Now it's all power ranger/ anime crap. I guess I'll always have dvds.

  • why the hell is batman and aqauman flying in that intro????

  • it's more like "gliding"... >.>

  • I love it. Now when I hear this version of the theme, I automatically yell, BATMAN DOES NOT FLY! ;-)

  • funy i dont remember Wonderwoman flying either???

  • Classic!

  • Ted Knight was the announcer during the first season of the Superfriends with Wendy and Marvin. then Willam Woodson took over the rest of the series untill 1986 when it was cancelled. hope that clears it up for those wondering who the announcer was.

  • Ok I found this info on "Superfriends: Wikipedia about who the announcer was during the superfriends intros.

    Notable voice actors

The commanding voice of the Narrator was provided by actor Ted Knight during the early hour-long episodes. His signature line was, Meanwhile, at the Hall of Justice! William Woodson took over once they dropped the original format.

  • wow im 36 now and when this show was on saturday mornings back in the late 70's an 80's i couldnt wait to watch it..now this is the REAL saturday morning right there! lol

  • omg i love his show!!

    ...

    lol

  • Wonder Twins were so fucking useless.

  • is that Don Pardo?

  • not Don Pardo, Ted Knight

  • actually I'm wrong it's not Ted Knight

  • sounds like don pardo for sure...

  • @gnithe What's the matter, you gay for him?

  • lol i could haveword i saw batman fly and wound twins are no so strong 1 of em truns into a bucket of water

  • Batman flys!

  • and Aquaman.

  • Damn i remember when i first saw this when it was on cartoon network(when cartoon network first came out)

  • yo people who was the guy at the start of the show song always say in the great hall of the justice league? any one tell me he's name

  • In the later episodes, it was Ted "there's no gambling at Bushwood sir and I never slice" Knight of Mary Tyler Moore fame.

  • Spacemonkey?

  • The 1973 intro was a lot more dramatic, but this is the one I used to watch the most. At least Robin gets a much better deal in this one.

  • Did anyone notice that the SUPERFRIENDS title has the same visual effect as the Hanna-Barbera closing ident?

  • This was the intro for about 2 or 3 seasons. Better then the first one for sure with Wendy and Marvin.

  • Was not a bad show enjoyed it.....I knowed one guy who posted named "Reverned Syn" said Aquaman was jut lame since taking to fish is not so great...well maybe it is lame but then so is those two kids Wendy and Marvin who have NO powers whats so ever and ride around on bikes in each epoisode getting into trouble..and having the Superfriends bail them out of trouble..yet as a child growing up you don't care about such things, at that age is just fun to watch.

  • In fairness, its not merely that Aquaman can talk to fish (who cares?), but that they listen to what he tells them, and obey his commands. Being Emperor of all fish, sea mammals, and assorted aquatic life, both fresh and saltwater, is pretty damn good, I'd say. Too bad he was such a femme otherwise.

  • Since when do Wonderwoman and Aquaman fly around like Superman?

  • Actually, although Wonder Woman's powers have changed with time, if my memory serves me right, she's been able to fly for most of her history in comics. Aquaman, on the other hand, can't fly AFAIK.

  • LOOOOOOOOOOL

  • i want to see the wonder twins and gleep fight marvin, wonder dog and that uptight chick they hung out with.

  • Is there any episodes here?

  • Go buy the "All-New Super Friends: Season 1, Volume 1" and/or "Super Friends: Volume 2" DVDs.

  • Alright. :) It's out on dvd?

  • Yes, volume 1 is out right now.

  • Thank you for telling me.

  • Thank you for telling me.

  • I appreciate it.

  • This was made in 1977 before the Legion of Doom was around.

  • great cartoon

  • you know, this is only like the 2nd or 3rd time I actually this intro in it's entirety.......I know I know odd as it may be.........also, I never put much stock into the scenes in the intros, even as a kid......I just knew I loved the characters, no matter what they were (or weren't) doing....that's the beauty of being a kid (from that era specifically)

  • Wow. Never saw that issue. Had a Jimmy Olsen comic where Clark Kent is lead away in kryptonite handcuffs his identity blown and Jimmy Olsen is clutching handfulls of dollars. The story was almost as it appeared on the cover, if memory serves me right.

  • The two Super Powers seasons were some of the best written stries in Superfriends history.

Adam West even did Batmans voice.

  • Yeaaaaaaaaaaah!!!! great remembers!!! Here in Mexico this TV Show was aired between 1984 & 1985, with a great cast of dubbing actors in spanish from these ages!!!

Greetings from Mexico :) this video is cool !!!!

  • Dude where are my Honey Combs? This was the best cartoon, aquaman never got proper respect, totally misunderstood.

  • Because talking to fish is such a vital, powerful weapon. "Hi Mr Guppy!"

Come on, he was a lame-o then and he's a lame-o now. The beard, hook, the attempt at a badass attitude and water hand couldnt change the fact. That is why he will always be a joke character. I think the only reason AM sticks around is that DC doesnt want to admit making him was a mistake, so they keep trying to reinvent him with new comics that always end up cancelled because everybody knows talking to fish is lame.

  • The last scene is supposed to represent Aquaman SWIMMING. And, at this time, Wonder Woman was able to glide on air currents -- simulating flying.

  • Aquaman cant Fly

  • robin is a fag

  • ROFL

Wonderbra woman, Seamen :) and f!cking space monkey? Come on...

  • i love this cartoon so much!

  • how come at the end of the intro they show wonder woman and aqua man flying

  • Hmmm... maybe they're caught in a ''space vacuum?'' :-)

  • Just a symbolism thing. WW never actually fights that dragon in any episode. Nor do we see Aquaman ever command a legion of sea life like that. Sort of like how comic book covers are seldom accurate to what actually happens inside. Check out "Superman is a Dick" for examples how the covers, like this intro serve only as packaging to entice you to read/watch.

  • Yeah, I know what you mean.

Used to be drawn in by the superman covers only to find that the story doesn't quite match up to the cover. Used to feel conned

  • Yeah, I know what you mean. It IS pretty annoying sometimes. My favorite however was a giant Superman stomping Metropolis and Mxyzptlk saying something along the lines of. "Sorry folks, this scene, like most covers, doesnt actually happen in this issue. But with ME around it just MIGHT!" Which I thought was a nice poke at the industry.

  • This is actually PRE-Legion of Doom, not ''post'' as the description says.

But you're right about it being the 2nd season. Challenge of the Superfriends was the 3rd incarnation of the series. The version with Marvin, Wendy, and Wonder Dog was the first.

  • yeah but she can park the lain anywahere :P

  • Actually this was before challenge of the superfriends and the Legion Of Doom.

  • So, if Wonder Woman had an invisible airplane, but she was not invisible, dosen't that defeat the purpose?

  • that was the problem, in the ORGINAL Superfriends, Wonder Woman had a TRANSPARENT jet not "invisble", it COULD be seen

  • For me it would be about mid to late 70s,Saturday morning cartoons.

  • Excelent! Haven't seen that intro since early 80's afternoons. Dope!!!!

  • This cartoon was so friggin' good :'(
