On July, 28th, Tibet's Regional TV & Telephone Economy Briefing was held in Lhasa, reporting that Tibet's first half year saw a major economy leap forward, news with the local newspaper. The briefing released the economic data from January to June, saying that the GDP of Tibet Autonomous Region increased by 16.5 percent than previous year, to 2.5084 billion yuan.
According to the briefing the per capita income of Tibetan's farmers and herders in the first half is 1546 yuan, up by 15.2 percent. It has become a common phenomenon for Tibetan people to go to other provinces of the country for work.
Also, one of Tibet's pillar industry-tourism marks progress as well. About 2.24 million tourists have come to Tibet in the first six months, 24.8 percent higher than the precious year.
This year is the first year of the 12th Five-Year Plan, and also the 60th anniversary of Tibet's peaceful liberation and 90th birthday of the Chinese Communist Party. All the favorable conditions urge local authorities to give more impetus to the construction of projects, raise fix assets investment and boost customer consumption.
The 'think tank' of Tibet suggests that the government pays close attention to major economic index, facilitat Lhasa-Shigatse railway construction, continue fiscal support to economy, stabilize the CPI index, provide sufficient human resource backup to economy, advocate private capital injecting to market and strive to increase people's income.
People accuse our government of crazy coverups, but why wouldn't Area 51 be secret if we dropped an atomic bomb, everyone knew about it, then Russia, France, and eventually China had nuclear power? Some things are best kept secret because I don't want Iran or North Korea having planes that go 1/5 of light speed and laser weapons or anything similar.
@Hellbastardo666 and you talk with no proof. Who the fuck told you china is oppressive to tibet? and mongolia is not even in china you fucking dumbass.
Please people... DON'T be Fooled by PRC Propaganda!!!
1)China has killed more than 3 million(20%)of Tibetan people, and destroyed Buddhist temples, torturing and forcing Tibetans to abolish their language.
2)Oppressed and murdered more than 2 million in Uighur.
3)Tortured and killed more than 5 million people in inner Mongolia.
4)They ally with North Korea, Encouraging Abductions of Japanese civilians.
The world should stand firm , and fight back against this Racist CHINA!
Tibetan Buddhist student says:CHINESE government NEVER understand the Tibetan people at all. This is a religious issue for them. Even after 50 years the devotion to The Dalai Lama is as strong as ever.
He is not only their King who they will follow, but he is also their Spiritual Guru, who is their hope and inspiration. They_ will never give up the quest for the Freedom of Tibet.!
Very very good Video - shows the truth. Long Live the Chinese Government, which makes the life of the Tibetans so much better! FUCK DALAI LAMA, SLAVE HOLDER, THEOCRATIC PIECE OF SHIT!
who is this guy? is he a tibetan? i dont think so if you want know the reality of Tibet? then just ask only senior tibetans. other then that all bulshit.
twisted by what media? you think i watch cctv or xinhua? or cnn or fox? ;P
"I doubt 2%..."
-doubting or guessing doesn't mean knowing. lol, it's a paaarrrtaaaay everytime a whiteman from hollywood visits dalai lama in his castle. u gotta give tibetans a lil more credit. they're more than just country bumpkins stuck in an old world you know. if they are however, well, no wonder...;)
DuhLie--knowing is certainly different than guessing, that's true. What castle of the Dalai Lama are you referring to? He does not have one. That is an example of how you have been misled by the media and the CCP. You are a true fool!
he HAD a castle. haha! and besides, "castle" is supposed to be a metaphor.....douche. that's what people who live like kings have ;0
btw, i didn't know my comment was removed. did it say "comment removed by author"?? in any case, thanks posting it up again. i didn't see your reply in my inbox, but i just knew you were going to, so that's why i checked this vid again ;)
HH The Dalai Lama does not live like a king. That is a lie. He is a monk that lives a very humble life. I have been to his residence in Dharamsala and it is not fancy or big. It is very simple. He sleeps only 4 hours a night and works constantly. You have once again trapped yourself in a lie. Hu is the one hu lives like a king! The CCP top dogs are hu you are really talking about...
...and if you are referring to the Potala Palace (which I have been inside of) it does not compare in scale to the Castles of Europe or the Palaces of China.
---oh and the one billion peasants in China live in castles? haha They live in hutongs or block buildings that fall on top of eachother like in Chengdu. The CCP is responsible for the earthquake victims because of the terrible construction...Han peasants need to be liberated now! (and if Tibet was always part of China, then China is responsible for all the "crimes" against the Tibet serfs anyway)
hutongs are better than grass huts, especially in high altitudes haha. being under rubble, or become a popsicle?
i think the ccp has an "earthquake-making" machine too. that must be it, because if an earthquake with that kinda magnitude hit a US city, then nothing will collapse........
even hurricanes like Katrina. there were no American casualties......only Blacks. XDD
well, dalai's evil deeds IS China's responsibility. that's why the ccp kicked his ass out. that's being responsible :)
Look at his nose. It's called broccoli nose, or Gin nose. It comes from Hard drinking. 95% of Modern China is living as low caste-peasant slaves. Bon is a sect of Tibetan Buddhism still to this day. The caste system he speaks of is a lie...what about the Hui?
you think he was drunk when he made this vid ;)) haha. "classy" rant there man. heeh
i bet you think those 2 white ppl in the tibet diary were paid by the ccp too. lol. they went there, it changed their perception, they shared their experience, and you're pissed :)
if you were born as a serf, then you'd know he wasn't lying about the caste system.
what about the hui? the hui can live in tibet without no Buddhist dictator who traditionally discriminated Muslims in Tibet :)
His judgment is impaired. He has no credibility outside of a very small circle of people that have such an agenda. He is only good at preaching to the choir. Beyond that, he is irrelevant. I could easily make a name for myself by acting like a bafoon like you, but what is the point. You are just masturbating. Nothing else.
Nothing has changed. We are still serfs because 1% of the world owns 99% of everything on this planet. Tibetans that weep for the Dalai lama should remember their past and realize we are all ONE under Creator .
99% of tibetans in dharamsala are living like that too. if not worse. same goes with other parts of india, other parts of asia, africa, europe, the americas.
are you "powerful" enough to change that? you seem to think so, being stuck in ur own dimension and all :)
if this is not sound scholarship, that means it makes your stuff pieces of crap that's so horrid, that even flies would bother landing on it.face it, the guy in the vid has quality. both video and knowledge. u should learn from him.
Most people in Dharamsala are Indian. This guy is a famous scholar, but is also quite famous for not being agreed with by almost anyone. He is no more qualified or intelligent than I. Some say he is paid by the CCP. Maybe that is true. I don't know for sure. His historical references are off, as well as his analysis. He's not the only one wrong. You just worship him 'cause he's White. How typical....haha
haha, i didnt ask about the demographics of dharamsala. i was just stating simple facts. there's no other way of explaining it. as long as they're happy? riggghhhhhttt. good for you you've got a "home" to go to, a place where you hide when you can't take the pressure. you choose to go to slums, but you don't choose to stay there.
and it's good to have a white guy speaking balancing things out for once. that's why you dislike him haha. how pathetic.
So it's true, because he is White, you think he is Lord. Sad. I choose to go to slums to make a difference when I can. Is that so bad? What do you do? Bafoonery...masturbatory idleness...you probably live on the dole. I think this is the first time I actually feel sorry for you. You are still going...how sad! Try knitting...
hmm, isn't my perception of this white man that i worship relative to how dalai and the exiles worship richard gere?? or you?? ;)) it's a nice reflection. it IS typical!! :DD
such a keen eye you got, knowing that the guy's impaired. u should be a trooper haha.
masturbation?? wait!! how do you know?!?! do you watch me??!! *gulp*
........but do you jerk off while you watch me.....ohh yeaaaaaahh ;)
WE both are still going...going..up...oh.....blast off!
I don't think any of the exiles even know who Richard Gere is. He is not that well known to Tibetans, despite what YOU might think. Typical it is not...Look at this guy: He is impaired, his scholarship is disputed, he is not part of the academic community. He is bitter and makes money from the CCP.
well, you're sorta white. so it goes the same for those serfs who listens to ur opinions.
speaking of hollywood, dalai and his crew are the only ones who desperately sought for attention there. "seven years in tibet, kundun, RICHARD GERE IS MY HERO" puahahaha!! (but apparently, they don't really know him hmm)
stone, ford, segal......and other idiots with no brain.
it would be pathetic if it weren't hilarious. only brainless people join that fraud.
You have been twisted by the media into thinking that H.H. The Dalai Lama really cares about Hollywood. How foolish of you. I doubt 2% of the Tibetan exiles in India know who Richard Gere is, or Stone, Ford, Segal, etc. The Tibetans in India are hardly concerned with that stuff. You really don't understand the situation there or in Tibet...
twisted by what media? you think i watch cctv or xinhua? or cnn or fox? ;P
"I doubt 2%..."
-doubting or guessing doesn't mean knowing. lol, it's a paaarrrtaaaay everytime a whiteman from hollywood visits dalai lama in his castle. u gotta give tibetans a lil more credit. they're more than just country bumpkins stuck in an old world you know. if they are however, well, no wonder...;)
money from the ccp? do you have documents that shows it? like the official CIA documents showing how tibetan exiles got their money? ;)) do u even know this guy? sounds like u r more obsessed to him than i am haha!
maybe they got no tv's in dharamsala....pelosi is another white person they worship hahaha. "she's got powers!"
"free tibet"=masturbation. now that's an accurate example, wouldn't you say? or is it a wet dream?
btw, you're vids of despair and hopelessness turns me on ;))
masturbatory does not mean literally to masturbate. You are so stupid. How would I watch you anyway, you have never shown your real face. I have, so I don't know what you do...but it sickens me to think you jerk off to my videos...yuk!
A noted expert in calculating the number of deaths caused by authoritarian regimes says the late Chinese communist leader Mao Tse-tung's policies and actions led to the deaths of nearly 77 million of his countrymen, surpassing those killed by Adolf Hitler and Josef Stalin

Pretty good, NON bias, historical video. based on this, it is safe to say Tibetans have a beter life Now under Chinese rule than under the Dalai Lama.
The Kathmandu Valley in Nepal was much more influential in Tibetian Buddhism then India. The Tibetian prince, Shranchan Gampo had two wives, of which one was from Kathmandu. Through her Buddhism spread to Tibet and then to China and Japan. Lhasa did most of its trade with Kathmandu.Tibetians used artists, artisans and architects from Kathmandu extensively.A lot of the scripts on prayer wheels and murals are Newari. Boudhanath in KTMwas built primarily for the Tibetians that visited KTM.
Can't blame China for upgrading their armed forces. If I lived there I'd be paranoid about being attacked from all sides. The Mongolians,British, French, Russians, Indians, Japanese, and Americans have all had a go. The call should be "Free China".
Qing wasn't the first dynasty to rule Tibet, Yuan and Song were the first, past Imperial scrolls and edicts had recorded Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Chinese Emperors have sent Viceroys to Xizang.
I didn't say first dynasty, I said "first truly Chinese dynasty".
You say there was no Mongolian identity before Russian intervention. I say if Russian/Soviet intervention is to blame for the Mongolians seperate self-identity, why did the Mongolian Yuan dynasty lose influence over other Mongolians; perceived as "too Chinese"?"
This is solid evidence of Mongolian self-identity PRE-DATING Russian intervention.
It is a little difficult to provide credible evidence when the CCP seal the border, however there are plenty of pro-Tibetan groups with plenty of good evidence. I'd provide it if I didn't think you'd dismiss it.
We all saw the tanks pouring accross the border less than a year ago.
If the PLA were doing anything to be proud of, we'd have seen it on CCTV. We didn't, ergo they weren't. If you believe their presence there was benign, you're dreaming.
And regarding to Tibet, its not demonizing, its facts provided with credible evidence, and talking about slaughter in Tibet, it was Dalai who mistreated its people, then it was the British who point its guns on the Tibetans, and actually slaughtered thousands of them. If there are credible evidence of brutality, show it. What really bugs us Chinese is people who made claims without showing any credible evidence, just like Dalai and his whole stupid gang.
About so called brutality in the so called Chinese occupation, it doesn't even existed, and if it does, where are the credible evidence? So far, Dalai Lama has shown NO CREDIBLE EVIDENCE that brutality has incurred among the ethnic Tibetans, in fact, it was Dalai Lama himself inflicted heavy brutality when he ruled Tibet in a Feudalistic and cruel. Credible photographic evidence has show that Tibetans were enslaved in Dalai's Feudal Tibet, they were subjocated to Torture even.
I didn't say that modern day Russian intervention was about self identity.
YOU said that "The subject of ethnic identity were only implanted... into the Mongols when the Russian intervened."
I then said, "If Russian/Soviet intervention is to blame for the Mongolians seperate self-identity, why did the Mongolian Yuan dynasty lose influence over other Mongolians; perceived as "too Chinese"?"
This is solid evidence of Mongolian self-identity PRE-DATING Russian intervention.
As I said, Mongolia was never a nation, it was nomad tribe, there were no self establish identity there, it was always a nomad tribe that voluntarily identify themselve as part of China, ethnically and politically, until Russia carved that tribe out of China and force the nation "Mongolia" upon its head, it was Western Imperialism that force identities into these tribes.
The point is, Xizang and MengGu were never a nation, they were nomadic tribes voluntarily join themselves as part of the Chinese nation. They were only forcibly separated by Western Imperialism, and the Western Nations are trying to separated them from China again by false rumours.
If Russian/Soviet intervention is to blame for the Mongolians seperate self-identity, why did the Mongolian Yuan dynasty lose influence over other Mongolians; perceived as "too Chinese"? This seems to prove that the Mongolians had a seperate self identity during the Yuan Dynasty period
which pre-dates Russian/Soviet intervention.
As for Tibet, China must be fragile and hollow if a few years of "intervention" and "rumours" cannot be undone by 50+ years of brutal Chinese occupation.
Yuan Dynasty collapse due to Mongolian leader's inability to govern. Russian intervention were nothing about self-identity, its pure imperialism, pure conquest, in an attempt to divide China, the hard fact is Mongolians consider themselves to be part of the Chinese nation, and it has for centuries. As for Tibet, it has only been seperated by British occupation, it has been part of China for centuries, so Tibet is NOT occupied, besides, no nation have EVER considered Tibet to be a country.
The evidence were clear in the Imperial Scrolls as well as scrolls uncovered within the Potala Palace. The subject of ethnic identity were only implanted into the Tibetans by the British incursions and into the Mongols when the Russian intervened. These seperatist acts are the residues of Western Imperialism. Dalai Lama himself admitted that the Tibetans are part of China, until Western Powers intervene and pressure the Dalai Lama to leave.
At 0:53, he says Tibet featured in the maps of the Yuan Dynasty. However, the Yuan Dynasty was Mongolian, not Chinese, so really, by that logic, Tibet should belong to Mongolia before China.
He also resorts to the standard demonising of Tibetan culture to justify communist rule. Well, the lesser of two evils is still evil.
China didn't accept the 1913 Simla Accord. However, Tibet did, which shows their self identity is seperate to China.
By mentioning Mongolian are you implying some sort of "pure race" ideology? Like Hitler?
No nation is made of 1 ethnic, yet you're trying to divide China up by its ethnic origins
Because China's made up of 56 ethnics, though Han is the majority, minority ethnic groups are granted special rules i.e. no one child policy to help their community grow
If the world run by your idea, Americans should all go back living in Europe, shouldn't they?
Please explain to me in what way you think I am implying anything about a "pure race".
Please justify your attempt to compare me to Hitler.
"...trying to divide China up by its ethnic origins"; I am not. I simply differentiated between Chinese and Mongolian. Yes, I see a distinction. Do you see a distinction, or do you believe Mongolia is Chinese?
What does paragraph 3 have to do with anything? I don't see its relevance.
I await your clarification on these points. Thank you.
You still haven't explained your accusation of me implying a "pure race" ideology.
You still haven't justified comparing me to Hitler.
My point is simply that, race aside, modern day country A is claiming sovreignty over modern day country B because modern day country C historically conquered A and B at the same time. It's a shit rationale.
And, yes, if Scotland so wished it, I'd happily see them gain independence. The American South, too. And Taiwan, E. Timor, Darfur, Wales... all of them.
The Mongols of the Yuan Dynasty are just one of the two dynasties that China has been ruled by ethnic minorities. China have 56 ethnic minorities, only the Mongols and Manchu have ruled China's Imeperial Dynasties as an ethnic minority.
It must be convenient to classify Mongols, Han etc. together as Chinese. But history stops making sense.
It would be like saying that Normans, Vikings and Saxons are all European. So in 1066, some Europeans invaded England and took control of some other Europeans. They are all Europeans. So nothing changed.
What a load of shit.
China was invaded and ruled by Mongolia; which is, the last time I checked, still an independent country.
Mongols were never established as a sovereign nation until 1923 when it was carved out by the Soviet Union, before that, Mongols only existed as a nomad tribe. They conquered China and establish their dynasty under Chinese customs, they were then submitted themselves volunteerily as part of the Qing Dynasty during the reign of Emperor Qianlong, and were officially established as an ethnic minority by the Republic of China in 1911 and again by the People's Republic of China in 1949.
Actually, their dynasty collapsed amidst coups, rebellions, cival wars and famine. The Ming dynasty took its place. Qing was 276 years later. You need to study.
Also, the Yuan lost influence over Mongols outside the Middle Kingdom as they were regared as too Chinese. This shows that while Chinese may regard the Mongols as Chinese, the Mongols (as with the Tibetans) don't regards THEMSELVES as Chinese.
The fact that these ethnicities have a seperate SELF identity was my orginal point.
During 276 years period of Ming's Yongle and Qing's Qianlong, they were roaming around northwestern China and Central Asia, Mongols were then voluntarily summitted and returned to the Qing Empire during Qianlong's reign when Catherine the great of Russia mistreated the Mongols. Even the Tibetans, the Dalai Lama were appointed only with the approval of the Chinese Emperor, they were revered as the Holy Subjects of the Chinese Empire, as Tibet were never a nation, but a religious Tribe.
what the fuck are you talking, wanna be smartass? what is ccp then? don't use words from dictionary when you have no goddamn idea what it means. but "suppressive feudal theocracy" is much better than chink autocrat, so suppressive my ass you fucker!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Dear Sir,
shut the fuck up! Are you taking chinese drugs? No, wait, was someone pointing with a gun? Ok~ then I can understand. If not, I just wanna tell you, that still Tibetans are suffering with no future under CCP! Who cares about history when people are dying!
No I don't think you need anything in your drink to make you dizzy or should I say stupid. Your blood is evil by itself from what you are bull shitting here. Go get some education, and learn to use your own brain with open eyes and first hand experiences.
This man implies the central government of China was responsible for the defeat of Japan in world war two, this and the fact that he owes his commercial success to the cooperation of the central chinese government casts his objectivity into question. To suggest that without the Chinese communist party there would have been no progress in Tibet is silly. Its simple, if Tibet was part of China why was an invasion necessary, and why now, are the Tibetans not allowed to decide for themselves.
Okay, so US nukes caused the retreat of Japan from China. It is the Communist ideal that rendered the dismantling of the Tibetan aristocracy. "Invasion" is a matter of semantics - how about 'counter-insurgency'? Pretty simple, yeah. Right to decide what for themselves? What flag they go under? Study history before you suggest that. Any former ruler would be upset by losing his power. Personally, I'm not a fan of the cast system.
Dats just one side of d story. Wat abt Chinese invasion on Tibet n slaughtering ppl(evn civilians). 100 of thousands ppl died by dis. Evn today dey live like a 2nd class citizen in d country.
I kno Tibet ws part of China since 1300. Wat abt b4 dat?? Its Tibet ppl right to live like dey want to live.Communist party behaves like a mental ancient king who wants to spread his kingdom. Com'on ppl, v r not living in 1000 AD.
Get the fact straight. Tibet belongs to China. Look at this video from old US media in 1944, way before 1959 of the so call "China invasion" of tibet. Now you understand why no one recognized tibet in the past and in present time? Case close.
We are talking about this, is it just because this video try to cover up and alter the true? In such a short video, so many were deceptive. If you believed the three year famine was natural causes as they said, & Chi Haotin (China Ministry of Defense) when visit to US said "the Tiananmen Square had no one die", what did that tell you? What anti-China? The west vote for China enter UN, let 1 billion human have a living chance, while they are now being used to against human right w/o consent.
India & China was occurrence of above-normal rainfall in decade of 1950s to early 1960s, and below-normal rainfall in late 1960s to 1970s. Famine death figures (millions). If India no famine, China's not natural cause.
Year famine, India & China, Cause.
1875-1878, 10 & 9, Drought.
1907- xxxx, 0 & 20, War?
1928- 19xx, 0 & 3, War?
1936- 19xx, 0 & 5, War?
1941-1943, 3.5 & 3, Drought, War.
1959-1961, 0 & 40, Great leap forward.
1965-1969, 1.5 & 20, small drought, Culture Revolution.
1. Cover up and altar the deeds they had done, after a few generations nobody will know, that is why they block and censor all medias, & want to take Taiwan to create a perfect crime. Chinese people will forever under wraps. Time bomb.
2. Face the fact & history, lets forgive and forget, lets its people have open minds to create for the good of country & the world. USA, Germany, and Russia did that.
if the deed is so covered up and alter like you said it is, will we even have this debate over tibet and china? The fact is, everyone knows china has an issue with human rights, but what many refuse to acknowledgte is, condition have been improving over the years, yet anti-china supporter gloss over this and chooses to demonize china. Change require time, it is not an overnight process
The people are friendly, the culture is AMAZING and the FOOD IS INSANELY GOOD.
China has had it's problems but what country that's been invaded for the last 300 years wouldn't have it's problems. Especially with 1.4 Billion people to look after.
choujiaoyaya says "in Cultural Revolution and the three years of failing crops, not only Tibetans but also Han Chinese were affected. do not think that only Tibetans suffered.
Don't you always blame china for anything happened?"
That's precisely the point.
Chinese Government is different from Chinese people.
The Chinese Government policy failure has caused your forefather and Tibetan suffering.
Nobody is blaming China for anything. The Chinese Government has shame you for its policy failure.
my parents had went through the cultural revolution and the three years of crop failures. crop failures are not caused by the chinese government. it's natural occuring. cultural revolution was true that people suffered a lot. but they corrected their ways. who does not make mistakes or have wrong doings?
in Cultural Revolution and the three years of failing crops, not only Tibetans but also Han Chinese were affected. do not think that only Tibetans suffered.
Don't you always blame china for anything happened? mind your own business

Chinese government represent Chinese people. do you think that if Chinese government does not have support of china, they could still rule? most chinese people still support chinese government. therefore, in some way, chinese gov. = Chinese people.
china is still a fast developing nation. she is looking for ways to make the country work, to be part of the global economy. they are trying their best. your job should be to make things easier for china, to help china, not against it.
I love China, the Chinese culture and it's amazing history. I just got back from a tour from Shanghai to Souzhou, Huangzhou, Xian, Jongnan mountain, Huashan mountain and then to Beijing. The people are so nice and the food is not to be compared to any other country! I never believed the bullshit I was taught in school about China and Mao and to see it with my own eyes was fantastic. I didn't see one homeless person in China. In australia aborigines live FAR worse than the poorest ChineseGOCHINA!
Strive for cause, that is just & correct at large, base on policy, not individual act. Hopefully before the whole history being remove from generations... No real Chinese who will face their forefather, should allow this second trauma, which would, more severe than the deeds had committed. No real Chinese should be accomplices for this attempt. As member of history extensions, don't let the momentary indulge of self-glory of individual, or party, tamper with the heritages of humankind.
Are you going to say the same to all the pro-China voices? What about those so called Tibet protestors in London who got paid by 300 pounds and hour? What about those so called Tibet protestors who didn't even know where Tibet was?! It's really hypocritical to view any pro China voice as being hired by CCP, and believing all the violent acts of Tibet protestors as their right to strive for freedom. Well done Western media! You brainwashed your people well!

You may not believe it, for the appearance of wealth in China now, only account for a little over 5% of the world GDP.
I didn't believe it. Now I confirm it is true. 5% of world GDP for 20% of world population, is it good or bad? If 100% of world GDP for 100% of world population =1 as norm, it is bad. That means very low productivity per capita. I know China will get better everyday, so does the rest of the world, the others does not have the system to slow them down.
By the way the whole WW2 deaths were 55 millions include civilian. Mobilized 93 millions troops all together.
If the "Reduce 60 million" figure is truth, most cause by famine, government corruption and mismanage of money. Do you know? For that period of time China economy once had been accounted for 30% of the whole world GDP, 70% of China's silvers were earned from the West. The great trade imbalance may cause the import of opium. (The silver part is from CCTV百年航程- 招商局 135年.)
"Reduce 60 million populations out of 400 million" make everyone's blood boiling & hate the foreigners ever more, right? Chinese people's emotion forever being used as political pawn. Pin a little not all on the West.
Most arms confrontation were few 100s to 1000s of western force; in the height of "Eight-Nation Alliance", less than 50,000 westerner presented, and used only 20,000 force. For the whole period of the westerner in China there were not enough men and weaponry to do it.
He use 1950 not 1949 & 1945, puts "ending the civil war", & "defeating the Japanese army" in one sentence in reverse the time order, imply CCP defeated Japan.
From the research of Chinese historians inside & outside of China (not Taiwan, HK, or US historians), they wrote books about it, some of them even in Chinese army, confirmed & praised KMT fought the Japanese, not CCP. CCP didn't had enough men at that period of time to fight 2 millions Japanese even if they wanted to, & they didn't
If the protesters were the 10% of the rich landlords descendants want to get back their good old life, then where is the 90% of the counter protesters?
The truth need not be produce by any producer, Chinese nor Westerner.
Free (International) press will do nicely.
I see some historic facts questionable. Can you find them?
Either he implies KMT as warlord, or he makes a mistake of Nanking for Beijing.
Dalai Lama escaped or sneaked out of Tibet, not send out. (movies)
I assume what he says about Tibet is what he believes and what he knows. I do think Tibet is part of China, no question about that.
I don't object Bush go to Olympic, I don't object one who don't want to go to the opening ceremony if don't want to, and I don't object people fight for their rights. Lets the chips fall where it may be. Hopefully before the whole history were removed from generations. That is the most I am worry about.
However, China should end Censorship. So little is know about what happens in China during the past 50 years, China's record of being tranparent is not good. So, if China really wants the West to understand China, then China needs to open up, censorship will work against China. Chinese people in China also needs to learn about the West. There are both good and bad from both sides.
But you see, there had been western media in China. I can't post the link, but I'll paste words from it. You can ask me for the link if you want.
"... Buddhist monks who have advocated Tibetan independence from China, western sources in Tibet said.
The confrontation began when officials arrived at the Rato monastery, 15 miles southwest of Lhasa, the Tibetan capital, on Sept. 30 and demanded to hear the monks' views on a number of issues, including Tibetan independence, the sources said."
Oh really? China do not wish their children dressing like sluts. Over here i see little gr.3 and 4s dressing like pornstars. So you think no cencsorship is good? Look at the amount of teen pregnancy! What kind of image is the western media affecting on young minds?
The Western Media should find out more about Tibet. But the history does not necessary mean it has to be that way in the present. However, Tibet is far from capable of being an independent country. Same could be said for the American Indians. I am sure native Americans would like to have their land back and declare their independence from the white Government of our United States. But that is not going to happen.
This is a great video! I think whoever blindly support the Tibetans should view this before they point their finger at the Chinese government.(esp. Daley, the SF supervisor)
they should have an election in tibet and let the people decide if they would like china to control them or be independent. If people are really unhappy the way they are now, they will vote for china control.
hehe, a typical naive westerner. Do you know how hard to have a vote on 2 million people scattered on the area twice of the france and consists of the world's greatest mountains? China has been working very very hard to improve the infrastructure of tibet, but still, far from enough to have a vote there.
typical excuse for not taking into account what people of tibet want. If they wanted to hold a election on this issue, it could easily be done.
Truth is, China does not have a good human rights issue.. just look at what they are doing to falun gong supporters... killing them and selling their bodyparts to the wealthy.
haloaum, without the chinese government, 95% of tibetans will still be illiterate, because under dalai ma, 95% of tibetans are slaves, for the rest of their lives plus their children.
falun gong is a totally different issues than this one.
Where the hell do you people come up with outrageous claims like that? "look at what they are doing to falun gong supporters... killing them and selling their bodyparts to the wealthy." <--- proof? The falun gong leaders who were jailed were because of money laundering, for amassing monetary contribution from their followers. Use of religion to get money has had much previous precedence.

On July, 28th, Tibet's Regional TV & Telephone Economy Briefing was held in Lhasa, reporting that Tibet's first half year saw a major economy leap forward, news with the local newspaper. The briefing released the economic data from January to June, saying that the GDP of Tibet Autonomous Region increased by 16.5 percent than previous year, to 2.5084 billion yuan.
mispistoIeros 4 months ago

The CCP top dogs are hu you are really talking about...

hehe don't comapare dalai's former castle with the ones in Europe or China. compare it with the other ones in Tibet at that time.....
let's see, what other castles did the serfs live in........OH SHIT, they barely had huts! hahaha!

Back the the original Mongolian discussion..
antonyrogers 3 years ago
And regarding to Tibet, its not demonizing, its facts provided with credible evidence, and talking about slaughter in Tibet, it was Dalai who mistreated its people, then it was the British who point its guns on the Tibetans, and actually slaughtered thousands of them. If there are credible evidence of brutality, show it. What really bugs us Chinese is people who made claims without showing any credible evidence, just like Dalai and his whole stupid gang.
YotJoey 3 years ago
About so called brutality in the so called Chinese occupation, it doesn't even existed, and if it does, where are the credible evidence? So far, Dalai Lama has shown NO CREDIBLE EVIDENCE that brutality has incurred among the ethnic Tibetans, in fact, it was Dalai Lama himself inflicted heavy brutality when he ruled Tibet in a Feudalistic and cruel. Credible photographic evidence has show that Tibetans were enslaved in Dalai's Feudal Tibet, they were subjocated to Torture even.
YotJoey 3 years ago
I didn't say that modern day Russian intervention was about self identity.
YOU said that "The subject of ethnic identity were only implanted... into the Mongols when the Russian intervened."
I then said, "If Russian/Soviet intervention is to blame for the Mongolians seperate self-identity, why did the Mongolian Yuan dynasty lose influence over other Mongolians; perceived as "too Chinese"?"
This is solid evidence of Mongolian self-identity PRE-DATING Russian intervention.
antonyrogers 3 years ago
As for "no credible evidence" for brutality; I seem to remember Chinese tanks pouring across the Tibetan border less than a year ago.
It was one of many military interventions by the PLA into Tibet.
And you're back to the standard 'demonising Tibet' tactic. I shall refer you to my original response on that:
The lesser of two evils is still evil.
Finally, I would say that the first truly Chinese dynasty to rule Tibet was the Qing, under Kangxi. Question: How was this achieved?
antonyrogers 3 years ago
As I said, Mongolia was never a nation, it was nomad tribe, there were no self establish identity there, it was always a nomad tribe that voluntarily identify themselve as part of China, ethnically and politically, until Russia carved that tribe out of China and force the nation "Mongolia" upon its head, it was Western Imperialism that force identities into these tribes.
YotJoey 3 years ago
The point is, Xizang and MengGu were never a nation, they were nomadic tribes voluntarily join themselves as part of the Chinese nation. They were only forcibly separated by Western Imperialism, and the Western Nations are trying to separated them from China again by false rumours.
YotJoey 3 years ago
If Russian/Soviet intervention is to blame for the Mongolians seperate self-identity, why did the Mongolian Yuan dynasty lose influence over other Mongolians; perceived as "too Chinese"? This seems to prove that the Mongolians had a seperate self identity during the Yuan Dynasty period
which pre-dates Russian/Soviet intervention.
As for Tibet, China must be fragile and hollow if a few years of "intervention" and "rumours" cannot be undone by 50+ years of brutal Chinese occupation.
antonyrogers 3 years ago
Yuan Dynasty collapse due to Mongolian leader's inability to govern. Russian intervention were nothing about self-identity, its pure imperialism, pure conquest, in an attempt to divide China, the hard fact is Mongolians consider themselves to be part of the Chinese nation, and it has for centuries. As for Tibet, it has only been seperated by British occupation, it has been part of China for centuries, so Tibet is NOT occupied, besides, no nation have EVER considered Tibet to be a country.
YotJoey 3 years ago
The evidence were clear in the Imperial Scrolls as well as scrolls uncovered within the Potala Palace. The subject of ethnic identity were only implanted into the Tibetans by the British incursions and into the Mongols when the Russian intervened. These seperatist acts are the residues of Western Imperialism. Dalai Lama himself admitted that the Tibetans are part of China, until Western Powers intervene and pressure the Dalai Lama to leave.
YotJoey 3 years ago
At 0:53, he says Tibet featured in the maps of the Yuan Dynasty. However, the Yuan Dynasty was Mongolian, not Chinese, so really, by that logic, Tibet should belong to Mongolia before China.
He also resorts to the standard demonising of Tibetan culture to justify communist rule. Well, the lesser of two evils is still evil.
China didn't accept the 1913 Simla Accord. However, Tibet did, which shows their self identity is seperate to China.
Free any and all societies who want to be free.
antonyrogers 3 years ago
By mentioning Mongolian are you implying some sort of "pure race" ideology? Like Hitler?
No nation is made of 1 ethnic, yet you're trying to divide China up by its ethnic origins
Because China's made up of 56 ethnics, though Han is the majority, minority ethnic groups are granted special rules i.e. no one child policy to help their community grow
If the world run by your idea, Americans should all go back living in Europe, shouldn't they?
xuci111111 3 years ago
Please explain to me in what way you think I am implying anything about a "pure race".
Please justify your attempt to compare me to Hitler.
"...trying to divide China up by its ethnic origins"; I am not. I simply differentiated between Chinese and Mongolian. Yes, I see a distinction. Do you see a distinction, or do you believe Mongolia is Chinese?
What does paragraph 3 have to do with anything? I don't see its relevance.
I await your clarification on these points. Thank you.
antonyrogers 3 years ago
You're saying: "the Yuan Dynasty was Mongolian, not Chinese, so really, by that logic, Tibet should belong to Mongolia before China"
But note:
1. Later the Mongolians called their era of rule Yuan "Dynasty" (元朝), using the Chinese naming system
2. Tibet was also a part of China in the Manchu Qing Dynasty rule, or are you going to say Manchu is not a ethnic group of China now?
"Chinese" don't just mean "Han", in modern meaning it's a nationality, not an ethnic group
xuci111111 3 years ago
Oh and "Free any and all societies who want to be free"?
So... if Southern America want to be "free", the US Senate should just let them go?
Or if Scotland want to be free from UK, the British Parliment have the duty to announce their independance?
Maybe you should "free" the 2 above before "freeing" Tibet
xuci111111 3 years ago
You still haven't explained your accusation of me implying a "pure race" ideology.
You still haven't justified comparing me to Hitler.
My point is simply that, race aside, modern day country A is claiming sovreignty over modern day country B because modern day country C historically conquered A and B at the same time. It's a shit rationale.
And, yes, if Scotland so wished it, I'd happily see them gain independence. The American South, too. And Taiwan, E. Timor, Darfur, Wales... all of them.
antonyrogers 3 years ago
The Mongols of the Yuan Dynasty are just one of the two dynasties that China has been ruled by ethnic minorities. China have 56 ethnic minorities, only the Mongols and Manchu have ruled China's Imeperial Dynasties as an ethnic minority.
YotJoey 3 years ago
Would that be the CCP's list of 56 ethnic groups?
It must be convenient to classify Mongols, Han etc. together as Chinese. But history stops making sense.
It would be like saying that Normans, Vikings and Saxons are all European. So in 1066, some Europeans invaded England and took control of some other Europeans. They are all Europeans. So nothing changed.
What a load of shit.
China was invaded and ruled by Mongolia; which is, the last time I checked, still an independent country.
antonyrogers 3 years ago
Mongols were never established as a sovereign nation until 1923 when it was carved out by the Soviet Union, before that, Mongols only existed as a nomad tribe. They conquered China and establish their dynasty under Chinese customs, they were then submitted themselves volunteerily as part of the Qing Dynasty during the reign of Emperor Qianlong, and were officially established as an ethnic minority by the Republic of China in 1911 and again by the People's Republic of China in 1949.
YotJoey 3 years ago
Actually, their dynasty collapsed amidst coups, rebellions, cival wars and famine. The Ming dynasty took its place. Qing was 276 years later. You need to study.
Also, the Yuan lost influence over Mongols outside the Middle Kingdom as they were regared as too Chinese. This shows that while Chinese may regard the Mongols as Chinese, the Mongols (as with the Tibetans) don't regards THEMSELVES as Chinese.
The fact that these ethnicities have a seperate SELF identity was my orginal point.
antonyrogers 3 years ago
During 276 years period of Ming's Yongle and Qing's Qianlong, they were roaming around northwestern China and Central Asia, Mongols were then voluntarily summitted and returned to the Qing Empire during Qianlong's reign when Catherine the great of Russia mistreated the Mongols. Even the Tibetans, the Dalai Lama were appointed only with the approval of the Chinese Emperor, they were revered as the Holy Subjects of the Chinese Empire, as Tibet were never a nation, but a religious Tribe.

This man implies the central government of China was responsible for the defeat of Japan in world war two, this and the fact that he owes his commercial success to the cooperation of the central chinese government casts his objectivity into question. To suggest that without the Chinese communist party there would have been no progress in Tibet is silly. Its simple, if Tibet was part of China why was an invasion necessary, and why now, are the Tibetans not allowed to decide for themselves.
islandhopper111 3 years ago
Okay, so US nukes caused the retreat of Japan from China. It is the Communist ideal that rendered the dismantling of the Tibetan aristocracy. "Invasion" is a matter of semantics - how about 'counter-insurgency'? Pretty simple, yeah. Right to decide what for themselves? What flag they go under? Study history before you suggest that. Any former ruler would be upset by losing his power. Personally, I'm not a fan of the cast system.

I was here because this video is deceiving.
An exact same video in a different link was send to me.
Where there I spend a span of 6 weeks & posted 123 comments.
Quite a lot of people station there knowingly or not, to keep the deceptions alive.
There were a lot of fireworks.
If I can let some know the true, my efforts were not in vain.
Yesterday, on July 4, I think I have said most I want to say & bit farewell.
If interested.

1965-1969, 1.5 & 20, small drought, Culture Revolution.

There are 2 ways to achieve perfect? harmony:
Most Chinese seems to pick 1, what a pity!
hkslee 3 years ago
if the deed is so covered up and alter like you said it is, will we even have this debate over tibet and china? The fact is, everyone knows china has an issue with human rights, but what many refuse to acknowledgte is, condition have been improving over the years, yet anti-china supporter gloss over this and chooses to demonize china. Change require time, it is not an overnight process

Mix information is the worst.
Although some of the thing he mentioned "might be factual", there are lots of negative events that was not mentioned. This is apparently a bias film.
He did not mentioned the cruelty of the Cultural Revolution nor the failure of the crops.
Pick up the book "The Search for Panchen Lama". You will get more shocking "Truth" on what China did to Tibet.
China can blame everyone else, but
the recent Tibet events is a sign of bad Chinese government policy failure.

God bless China.

Tibetans say want more freedom; the same apply for the rest of the country for that matter.
Dalai Lama says more freedom not independent is what they want, CCP can't give them that, so they must well say:" They want independent."
The conversation is:
"I want more freedom."
"No, you want independent."
"No, I mean, I want more freedom."
"No, you want independent."
The introduction of Tibet pull out the "Landlord" lines, does it sound familiar? See what got us in the 50's in China.

I put it in 7 sections:

The Western Media should find out more about Tibet. But the history does not necessary mean it has to be that way in the present. However, Tibet is far from capable of being an independent country. Same could be said for the American Indians. I am sure native Americans would like to have their land back and declare their independence from the white Government of our United States. But that is not going to happen.

they should have an election in tibet and let the people decide if they would like china to control them or be independent. If people are really unhappy the way they are now, they will vote for china control.
Let the people of tibet decide their future!

hehe, a typical naive westerner. Do you know how hard to have a vote on 2 million people scattered on the area twice of the france and consists of the world's greatest mountains? China has been working very very hard to improve the infrastructure of tibet, but still, far from enough to have a vote there.
katukov 3 years ago
typical excuse for not taking into account what people of tibet want. If they wanted to hold a election on this issue, it could easily be done.
Truth is, China does not have a good human rights issue.. just look at what they are doing to falun gong supporters... killing them and selling their bodyparts to the wealthy.
haloaum 3 years ago
haloaum, without the chinese government, 95% of tibetans will still be illiterate, because under dalai ma, 95% of tibetans are slaves, for the rest of their lives plus their children.
falun gong is a totally different issues than this one.
