  • 64K Demo....64 Likes

  • HOLY SHIT...ALL THIS IN 64K!? AMAZING!!!!!

  • because it takes up more space than 64kb, it only takes 64kb in the file yes, but it unloads alot more in youre memory, thats why in the old days, it took a few minute to start these demos. but yes its VERY VERY impressive :D

  • .... shut up and take my money!

  • There's coders and there's wizards

  • what does the sampled voice say anyway?

  • 64K??? :-OOO

  • very impressive

  • This is propably one of the sickest intros i've ever seen <3

  • Glad to see the demo scene is still alive and kicking :D

  • Lovely! Reminds me of the good old times - there is still creativity! Thanks flt

  • How the hell is that possible? Can someone explain that a bit?

  • @doeterniettoe123 I am as baffled as you are :)

  • @doeterniettoe123

    WIkipedia - Procedural_generation

  • @doeterniettoe123 Search on Google for "Techniques For 4kb Intro Development" and "S Tec and Dave Polaris Valentine" which should return a link to the media page of the Notacon 4 conference, which was held in 2007. The video recording of the educational session talks about a lot of things that are about the reduction of the production, in this case about the even more hard core stuff, the creation of 4 KB intros (including textures, sound, meshes and everything else hehe)

  • amazing!

  • does the 64k include all textures, models and samples?

  • @madsrydahl Yes, it does... it must or it would disqualify :)

  • @sacreleases I have no knowledge of these 64K contests, but it sure as hell fascinates me.. are you saying that all graphics, all sounds, everything, is 64 000 bytes? run under what program/system? a normal PC? in what code?

  • @pastorrtom check out this:

    /watch?v=R35UuntQQF8

It's 256 bytes. And there are even smaller demos.

  • @madsrydahl The 64kb contains no textures. It only contains some very good coded algorithms to generate those textures/music.

  • Amazing. Go FLT!

  • Nice timbaland sample

  • amazing!

  • I remember my jaw dropping when I saw this at ASM '08. :<

I was kinda glad I didn't submit my 64k entry, as it was... well.. very primitive, compared to this.

Might try something this year, though.
