  • Hola!!! Tengo una duda y te agradecería una respuesta :D

Al final dices "me comí el sandwich" "me lo comí"... bueno no explicas ampliamente pero es esto un cuasireflejo? o cómo lo clasifico?... es que he pensado en este tipo de verbos por ejemplo "yo no me se las canciones de navidad" ese "me" que indica?... Y bueno por otro lado creo que en inglés es más claro lo siguiente "ella me dijo" (a quién: to me) pero este ejemplo está incluido en que categoría? ... Muchisimas gracias!

  • thanks bro :) LE ROSEY INSTITUTE SWITZERLAND

  • The thing that i love about your videos is that you explain the concepts in an easy to understand manner and you give many examples. Also in this video where you threw in the last part about native speakers and how some verbs are just reflexive that some other people might have left out. Great videos!

  • Stop talking Melissa

  • Mrs mezzane is the best

  • Good day , is it possible you can make a video or give some examples of the Reflexsive verbs in past tense and future tense? thank you

  • @lanuagenow please.. record a video on IMPERATIVE form of verb in SPANISH..

    pls.

  • Thanks for your help! Your videos are great. It's really nice to be able to get additonal help/practice from you for the things I can't quite grasp in the classroom the first time. I really enjoy learning Spanish and especially like when I can understand more completely. Thanks again!

  • how would you say something like "She is getting dresses"/"She is dressing herself", like present participle?

  • @athenaloca you'd still use the verb reflexively, but you'd conjugate in the present progressive, using the present participle form: Ella se está vistiendo OR Ella está vistiéndose. As you can see, with this tense, the pronoun (se) can go before the conjugated form or ESTAR or after and connected to the participle form (ando/iendo), which requires an accent. Hope that helps. Thanks for your comments! J

  • @languagenow thanks so much! all of your videos are very helpful.

  • this is the hardest subject for me

  • trololololololololollling! i hate spanish

  • I have learned a lot from your videos and was wondering if you could post a video about Adjective Agreement in spanish.. if you already have one i could not find it.

  • wow mate you said ok 38 times hahaha :P

  • THIS GUYS IS SO ANNOYING. PLEASE STOP REPEATING "K" ... :(

  • "When one subject(s) does something to another, or for another--maybe a blowjob--..." (7:19)

  • You are very, very, very good with explaining this subject and also keeping the anxiety down in a person who is learn to speak another language. The streaming video is perfect and best, but I would buy your workbooks too for when I was out and about and not at a computer

  • Thank you so much for teaching in such a clear concise way. What a good teacher! The text underneath is very helpful too. My Spanish is definately improving!! We will be moving over to Spain soon and hopefully I will gain more confidence through these lessons and be able to speak with my neighbours more easily.

  • Una recomendacion cuando digas Yo intenta pronunciarlo como suena la Y (ll) es decir lo pronuncias como yo ( io), al igual que en "ella"

Y con la "L" Intenta poner tu lengua en la punta del paladar, no intentes pronunciarla como en ingles!

por cierto me gustan tus videos

  • when i learned verbs, they told me that its just ar/er/ir, is the 'se' added just another verb ? so therer are a total of 4?

  • 6:18. Sorry. But you said sit up when you said "sentarse" :P

  • Thank you so much for posting this! I have a make up a Spanish test and my teacher didn't tell me what the reflexive verbs are since i forgot what they were and i was sick when the test was taken. Thanks!

  • i learn more with you in ten minutes then i have in 2 years with my spanish teacher

  • Question: Why can't I use just normal present tense?

For instance, if I can say: Yo duche, why would I want to change it to : Me duche?

  • @shaykay1995 you need to put the person who receives the action in that case. You can take a shower yourself or give it to another person (sorry for my english XD)

  • "Se fue" is reflexsive isnt it? But its not saying "he went himself" Can someone explain reflexsive that isnt all about daily routine verbs??????

  • Primero, que en español la frase es: "A diario" no solo diario. Sin la A la frase no tiene ningún sentido.

NO y no te vuelves a equivocar si te refieres a esto en el sentido de que solo se puede decir la oración con la A, tu puedes decir me baño diario o diariamente, me baño a diario o me baño de diario, creo te falta lectura. Consulta el diccionario de la Real Academia, ya que esta discusión es absolutamente bizantina.

  • i feel bad cuz im in spanish 3 and im watching this for review for a quiz instead of studying but its actually helpful! thanks

  • @buggyiscool

Damn you are lazy.. read your book.

  • But if you say Yo me baño it would be too repetitive, you should say just. Me baño. Yo me baño sounds odd in spanish. Is like when you make a double negation in english, like I don't like Nothing instead of I don't like Anything.

  • @ilargitxo2 not quite...a double negative is not proper grammar but this is proper grammar

  • ya well I said it was not the same but an example to help people understand what I wanted to say.

Of course Yo me baño is not incorrect in spanish but it is too repetitive, we spanish don't use it, we use say Me baño, only foreigners or people who is learning the language says it since they think it is like in english where you have to use the person each time you want to use a verb but that's why verbs in english don't have a person unless you put it before them.

  • what about verb " remmember"?????

  • ummm.... i still dont get it :(

  • What about "that" and "it"? Is it "el/la se levanta tarde"?

  • you are amazing teacher, i took a practice reflexive verb quiz on the internet and missed like 8, the first and second time i took it. once i was done with your lesson i took the quiz again and didn't miss one question, muchas gracias

  • you are great at explaining things in a very logical, easy-to understand, no nonsense type of way. i watch a few of your videos almost everyday. just a little tidbit, though "theirselves" is not a word. the correct English pronoun there is "themselves" =) thanks for posting! your videos help a great deal. Ive learned German and now Spanish is my next conquest. since i cannot take it as a class because of a full schedule, your videos help me learn what I would like to learn. Again thank you!

  • what is the difference between demonstrative adjectives and demonstrative pronouns? I have a test tommorrow and I just can't understand.

  • Professor Jason- I notice that when you say me in spanish, you use 2 different pronunciations. When do you pronounce it "may," and when do you pronounce it "me?" I don't understand the rule, or the difference of using different pronunciations. Thanks!

  • hey thanks a lot. hav a spanish midterm tomoro this rlly helped.

    :D

  • Wow, thanks for this. I have my basic Spanish exam today, and reflexive verbs were a bit of a problem for me. This was very helpful!

  • How do you make a reflexive very negative. Is the NO placed before the reflexive pronoun or after. If you use both the reflexive pronoun and a regular pronoun where is the NO placed?

  • I am from spain and.. english is too hard for me pff

  • Excelente teacher ,gracias por enseñar mi idioma ... A+

  • hola

    como estas

i am a regular viewer of your videos. can you please post a video on common phrases on spanish other than previously posted?

    gracias

  • You can also use these Verbs in differents Sences (Past, present, Future... and even more).

    Example: To say good bye

    Past: (Yo) Me despedí

    Present: (Yo) Me despido

    Future: (Yo) Me despediré

    Etc Etc....

    Nice, Isn´t it ?

    Thanks Teacher !

  • I love Spanish but I hate reflexive verbs. Even the native speakers can not tell which verbs could be in refelxive forms and which ones could not be. There is almost no rule about it. The native speakers just do it by habit. Que lastima!

  • Just like any other Language ! Don´t you think ?

    Saludos desde México. :)

  • tysm :)

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! THIS WAS UNBELIEVEABLY HELPFUL!!!! I have exams tomorrow and my tacher....cant teach.

  • what i dont get is sometimes, when i use reflexive verbs its wrong. like, me como a las ocho. thats the write sentence but assuming thats a reflexive form, i am doing it to myself

doesnt htat mean i am eating myself?

  • I eat myself at 8...Yeah lol

It's just Como a las ocho.

  • you eat yourself?? o_O lol

  • No I was explaining to some that "Me como a las ocho" meant I eat myself at 8, when they should say "(Yo) Como a las ocho"

  • this was very helpful. thank you!

  • HEY ITS LEVI IN SPANISH 2

    DID ANYONE SEE THIS?

    (my class was watching this)

  • Hi Jason, Thank you very much for these helpful videos! You're an extraordinary teacher!

I just checked out this video regarding reflexive verbs because there's one that I just don't quite "get". I hoped to get some clarification here. It might be obvious, but...I don't how to differentiate between the use of "irse" and "ir". Is there a rule that would help me to understand this? Thanks! For everything!

  • By the way, you could also say:

    ME* necesito levantar temprano.

    Ella SE* se quiere acostar.

    Both ways are correct.

Greetings and congratulations. Your Spanish is really good.

    B

  • Hi Jason, you are a really good teacher! Thanks a lot!

  • ya he estado aprendido español por dos años y mi clase acaba de empezar en este asunto. el asunto ha sido dificil para me a familiar, asi este me ayuda mucho. yo puedo entender tu acento, y tus explacaciones son maravilloso. tambien, hasta este cinta, no pude hallar una explicacion que tiene una tema sobre de poner los pronombres en el ultima parte del verbos reflexivos. sin embargo, tú lo hiciste muy claro para me. muchas gracias.. is this correct Prof.Jason?

  • I've been learning Spanish for two years now, and my class has just started on this topic. It's been a somewhat difficult topic for me to get used to, so this really helps. I can understand your accent, and your explanations are wonderful. Also, until this video, I wasn't able to find an explanation for putting the pronouns at the end of the reflexive verbs, and you really clarified that for me. Thank you very much.

Ha sido de algun modo una materia dificil de acostumbrarme, por lo tanto esto ayuda.Puedo entender tu acento y tus explicaciones son maravillosas, tambien hasta este video no era yo capaz de encontrar una explicacion para poner los pronombres al final de los verbos reflexivos y tu realmente me aclaraste eso. • This is a very useful lesson. I made myself many flash cards :o) I'd love to have a lesson about common Spanish idioms.

  • che q pasa q no haces mas videossssssss todos los q hacian videos buenos no hacen mas nada es una mierdaaaaaaa....

  • This is an excellent explanation of Spanish reflexion. I don't remember having this explained to us at all in the Spanish class I'm currently taking, but we were tested on it anyway! Well now I won't feel quite so helpless when confronted with it.

  • teamodmd no entiendo todo lo qe decis pero se puede decir "cepillarse los dientes"y"lavarse los dientes" es lo mismo jajaja me corrijo yo mismo el otro comentario "Y asi hay un monton"

  • Hey cool vids!! Yo naci en un pais hispano, y mis padres son hispanos pero me crie en los estados Unidos. Umm we say Sepillarse los dientes ( brush your teeth), lavarse means wash so it's just a minor correction. I know tons of spanish but I'm horrible at spanish grammar, you definately beat me there. God job, I guess in some spanish countries they may say wash your teeth instead of brush your teeth ( sepillo los dientes).

  • cepillo, cepillar con "C"

  • You can make the ñ by using Alt164. I don't know why I got a negative mark in my other comment. I was just trying to help him simply because spanish is not exactly the same in every spanish speaking country. Every one has different accents and different ways of saying things. My way was correct for my country but perhaps my spelling was off. I moved to the states when I was 4 and my parents are primarely spanish speakers that's why I know. Any- how it's ok you will be understood either way.

  • But I think washing your teeth is not as good as saying it correctly which is cepillarse los dientes/ sepillarse los dientes ( brush your teeth). lavar= wash cepillar/sepillar= brush.

  • Tan correcto es decir en español "lavarse los dientes" como "cepillarse los dientes". Es mas, te diria que coloquialmente es mas comun utilizar "lavarse los dientes" que "cepillarse los dientes".

Y te lo dice una española de España.

  • Bien dicho!

  • I know of the use of the Alt164 and stuff but that's not the problem. The problem is that when I apply it the message disappears, why? I just don't know. By the way you not only need to improve your Spanish but your English as well. Why don't you review what you type before you post it?

  • che posteate algo ja hace 2 semanas qe no posteas

  • inspírame, amigo, sobre qué podría ser??

  • Hello Jason,

thank you, it was really helpful. What about having a session about direct - indirect objects?

Btw, and another idea: could you please help me how to upload films on youtube - explained in a similarly simple and concise way? From step 1 choosing a camera brand, through standing the camera and the mic in front of you etc. I would appreciate it in English but Portuguese or Spanish would also be fun. :)

  • Complicados los verbos en español, ¿no?

  • Very interesting lesson, this is probably where spanish starts to get tricky...the reflexive stuff, the inflection of various words, changes with tenses. Thanks for this, you have an easy and simple way of explaining things...It would be cool if you were my teacher in real life, hehe. Cheers :-D
