@mvmusicable ok thanks. what do you think about the line6 m9 in general? I need some basic effects like reverb, delay, chorus, etc. What do you think? Should I buy stomp-boxes or does this sound really good? I've had a bunch of pedals, but I'm starting to get a bit sick of having to carry all the patch-cables, ac adapter, etc. How does it compare to high-end products like the nova? And how does it feel?
There's something weird with me. I like half of the effects of line 6 (basically delay and reverb) but from the nova i like the chorus and the overdrive more. So i would have to use both? They certainly sound different tho.
@diegofr90 There's nothing wrong with you. I like most of the M9's delays and reverbs but I don't like or use the overdrives. I use the M9's modulation with a separate overdrive stompbox for aggressive rock sounds. I'm iffy on the compression and filter sounds.
were the level set the same? I almost wanna say the Nova System sounds softer? Not sure if its just me or not, but for right now the M9 sounds a little crisper...but then again if the delay volumes are different then I think that would cause the Nova to sound not as pristine
Hi, you don't mention if you tried to match the settings on both units. The Nova has six delays types ans assuming you went with the clean delay, then the nova has six settings. Did you match these settings on both units?
this type of test is not fair to the better quality unit because the audio is compressed youtube garbage. differences would be audible more clearly in person and on higher quality amp/speaker combos
Its funny because I actually like both for different reasons. The Nova is definitely a warmer sounding unit. The M9 os a little brighter with possibly a slight hint of 'hair' around the notes which is pleasing as well. The ADA converters on the TC products are "better" quality but once stuff starts hitting a good tube amp, its all about the tone so I really do like both.
I've owned the M9 and now have the Nova System. M9 is more flexible but I like the analog dirt on the NS. God bless.
ok but now to you're own taste what can you tell me about the the two units? witch one youd recomend? some one its selling me a nova and i was looking at the pod x3
@zapz2101 Well, The nova is bigger, not designed to be on a pedal board whereas the M9 is. Looking at them sound wise, they both sound the same but the M9 beats the Nova in qty of effects. I personally kept the M9 because of the reasons above. So I would recommend you getting the X3 live package cause you get the same effects plus an expression pedal.
Both are excellent units. To my ears (and as a former Nova System owner) the Nova System's delays are a little more pristine, but the M9 has the Nova beat as far as flexibility and selection. Thanks for this video!
@renatomimessi That is a Junction Box, it saves me from plugging to and from the effect itself, all I do is plug my guitar to the "In" of the junction box then connect the amp to the "out" of the Junction Box. Soon I will be manufacturing this hand made junction boxes, stay tuned!
hello! do you hook these units in the fx loop of your amp?
MyLifeChanger 1 week ago
@MyLifeChanger I hooked up both unites to the true bypass on the bottom so i can A/B them. This amp does not have fx loop

Nice... BTW, what's that silver stomp box at the bottom of M9? is it a MIDI foot control an amp switch of a kind of ABY box?
vincentcostales 5 months ago
@vincentcostales That is a patch bay, it saves me from plugin in to my pedals so I save the jacks on them. I can make one for you for $25

Ive played on line-6 units, I hate them!! but then again, I use analog pedals, including handmade ones that have been made with the best parts!
