Landing on the beach would stir up a lot of sand and would get into every part of your helicopter. i really would not want to subject my ship to all that unnessary sand abrasion. Yes flying over a congested area is a no-no. I always try to stay over the water whenever I can. Sometimes its necessary to spend a few moments over an area that is lightly congested to get to these free fly zones but even then I'll always follow a road or highway so that I have an emergency landing area available.
nice flight! would like to see some beach landing or some low flying to see peoples reactions :)
so the area your flying over isnt considered "congested" under 103.15? I live in Vegas and theres places i want to fly other than the open desert but im afraid of breaking the 103.15 rule. what would your take on "congested" be?
I would rather just put a saddle on a Florida Mosquito. They're bigger anyway, and all I have to do to keep it running is let it land on a tourist every few hours.
As an UltraLight, it can "only" hold 5 gallons(Part 103-FAA Reg). The craft burns about 4.5gph. 'bout enough for a flight just under an hour @ an average cruise speed of approx 60mph (100kph). It's an "AMAZING" craft!
Although we try to spend several weeks each year in PCB, it's nice to be able to take a ride down the beach anytime I want, especially on these cold dark days. thanks for the post
Daaaaaaaaaaaaamn! I've got the day off and I just spent 10 minutes of it above the most beautiful beach in the world. Thanks for a great flight. You're the man...

Do they have a missile pod option for these rotorcrafts?
Seriously, great video. I love PCB and definitely would love to own a Mosquito.

that is so cool, i would be afraid to crash it, i fly fixed wing, but would love to give an ultralight rotor craft a shot.

mmmpie 1 year ago
@mmmpie The engine is a MZ201 and it burns reqular gas but since it is a two stroke engine you have to mix oil with the gas
