It's only a couple years old but I love making cookies with my daughter. She gets so excited with cookie cutters and frosting :) And we pick the best for Santa.
When I was a little girl we were always allowed to open one present before bed on christmas eve. It was always a new pair of pajamas. Now we do that with our kids but there is one twist. Santa visits and drops them off. The kids get so excited.
My favorite tradition is holiday baking with all the women in our family :) It's a tradition that has been carried out for many years and it's especially fun when the little girls are finally old enough to help because it's wonderful passing it on through the generations!!
I buy my daughter a tree ornament every year with intentions that when she leaves home she will have enough to decorate her own tree with many memories.
Just getting to decorate the house and seeing the lights around time. It's nice to b able to walk through the house and stop to see all the details and ornaments on the tree.
Christmas - I get to spend it with family. It's truly special. Sharing is caring. I also get to think of my 'in laws', friends and could spend it with them if possible especially someone special.
Dec.5, 1998: On a second date,( and my birthday) I went to the "Christmas Carol" play with John, who proposed marriage Dec,. 15, 1998. We're still married, quite happily. Every year, we either rent a "Christnas Carol" movie, go watch a new version at the theatre or a live play: That's our holiday tradition.
Usually working Christmas, this year both my husband and myself will be home (if he's out of the hospital by then) with the 4 year old, soooo..I don't know whats gonna happen.
Could not read all of your t-shirt, one of the joys of watching you.
Tradition is our Uncle coming for dinner then saying our gift is out in the car....then he drives away. Sometime in January, we get gift cards...lol silly tradition.
Christmas Eve before bed we read Santa Mouse (we have the stuffed animal to match) to my daughter. My Mom did it every year for me up into my 20's and now I am doing it for my daughter! =)
We have three kids, and when it comes to opening Christmas presents it comes and it goes so quickly. With our family of 5 being gamers of all sorts we started playing games on Christmas who ever wins the game gets to open one of their Christmas presents, and gets to pick the next game. We started this last year and it went so well we're doing it again this year. Thanks for the chance to win :)
I love decorating the Christmas tree with all the ornaments we have collected over many years, even have some from my childhood, handmade by a friend of my mother. I like going around and looking at Christmas lights too.
My Mom would always let the Grandkids open 1 present early like on Christmas Eve Day sometime and then Christmas Eve night we went over to her house and opened the rest of them.R.I.P Mom not the same anymore without her :o(
watching the old school christmas cartoons that we loved as a kid with out kids. Seeing their faces light up the first time we turn the christmas lights on :)
Christmas morning in general is my favorite tradition. Spending time with my family and seeing how everybody likes (or pretends to like) what I got them.
We always open presents on Christmas Even and have a big meal of homemade soups, cinnamon rolls and relishes. We also have a tradition of the youngest who can read reading the Christmas Story from Luke 2. Right now we use a Bible Story Book just because it's easier for them to understand. =D Thanks for the giveaway!
When I was little we use to go all out decorating the house and going to church on Christmas Eve and open one gift before Santa came. This year will be an extra special year because we almost lost my mother right after Halloween and she Thankfully has got to come home but has not made a full recovery, but at least she is alive and with us to celebrate Christmas rather this is her last one or not we plan on making it a special one to remember. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to everyone!
When I used to work in different types of residential programs for mentally ill, homeless, etc., I would always plan a big Thanksgiving meal and incorporate dishes residents wanted and I would invite former residents and their friends and families.
Putting up and decorating the tree. We used to do it on Christmas Eve when I was a kid but now we do it a few weeks earlier to enjoy it longer. But I make cookies and we have not beverages of various types and we spend the evening decorating.
Christmas Eve with the whole family, and opening stockings & presents with my husband on Christmas morning. This year will be our first Christmas as a married couple! :)
My favourite part is going as a family on our annual "Christmas walk", where we take hot chocolate in travel mugs and walk around our neighbourhood together, looking at the lovely Christmas displays in our area :)
Starting with the first Sunday following Thanksgiving, we start the Christmas celebration with the lighting of the first candle of Advent. One December 6, we celebrate St. Nicholas Day. We then celebrate Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and ending with the 12 Days of Christmas following Christmas Day. We don't do much presents, because we like to keep the focus on the celebration and giving to those in need. Of course, there is also all the cooking, baking, and eating.
I would have to say making presents for everyone. It's nice to start a project with a specific person in mind. Makes it much more personal by the end :)
Now that my hubby and I have kids, our Christmas tradition is making cookies with our daughters on Christmas Eve for Santa and once they fall asleep, my husband eats them all! I then write a thank you note from Santa.
Christmas Eve at my parents house for games, eating, and just spending time together. Then we go back Christmas Day to open gifts. Christmas Day night we go to a relative's house where my 25+ family members converge in a night of chaos (food, gifts, and merriment)! :)
I like spending time with my family.

As far as holiday traditions ours went away when the boys grew up and moved out.
Now I just want it to be over because it is a sad lonely time for me.
Winning a GC would sure make it better. Then I could buy myself a gift to make up for the ones I don't get cause I live alone.
