I've seen all of Makoto Shinkai's films, except this one, and I love them! However the one thing that always stands out is that the character designs are a little bland. But looking at this trailer, is it just me or is there something a little Miyazaki-ish about the characters- @ 0:37. But, you know, that might be knit-picking. Perhaps Miyazaki's style has become more universal now...

It comes down to knowing the creator. If you're familiar with Shinkai's work, you can assume this is going to be a story about a connection between two people that is strained by the progression of time and space. Reading the reviews, this one is more about how to recover from loosing connection with someone you care for. And of course the trailer showcases the animation, if its from Shinkai expect animation to come to the forefront with everything else.

For those who love anime out there (as well as me)...I'm sure that we all indulged ourselves with "Drama" and "Romance" but we must all realize that this is an anime. Some of us watch anime with a passion and some of us watch it for entertainment. Regardless of what it is...we must be able to tell the difference between anime and reality. Such serenity....I still remember the first time I watched Voices of a Distant Star....Makoto Shinkai's works are so deeply moving and astounding....with a visual style that's just as involving and emotionally engaging as the stories they represent. I will definitely be giving this a watch as soon as I can!
