  • How is it possible that he was born in 1936? He looks so young.

  • The fans of Tom Robbins give me great jot and relief because they let me know that I'm not alone as I feel sometimes.

  • I am a fan of Tom and have read all his books, but this is the first time I have seen him on video and heard him speak. So I am wondering about his speach pattern, it seems odd. As someone stated below, it is like he has had a stroke. So I mean no disrespect, but why and how does he speak this way? Natural or did he have some medical issues or drug issues??

  • @lctrout

    He is 75 years old.

  • @MarxMarvleous

Tom claims to be 77 lol! He thanked Wikipedia for the compliment :) Although, the resource that Wiki used was a voter's registration listing Tom's DOB as 1936???

  • hes got a mouth like brain wilson...did he have a stroke at one point

  • another roadside attraction

  • tis man is so open minded and such a great writer that i cant find the right words to describe him

  • Jitterbug Perfume must be left alone, there's no way a movie could ever come close to the greatness of the book.

  • A-vibrating-men

  • I've read Jitterbug Perfume 4 or 5 times and pick something up from it that blows me away. It wouls be very hard to make a movie out of a story that spans over a thousand years with so many magical characters, However, I'd pay to see it over anything else that's produced.. I dream of having a long dinner, conversation. drinks and song with Tom Robbins and Bob Dylan. Then, maybe go fishing. Oh, and throw in 3 French Polynesian girls for measure

  • @firstcoming I just finished it the other night and am so blown away.

  • Not just A junkie, THE junkie.

Whether external stimuli are a significant contribution to the man's style (doubtful, for the most part), Tom Robbins is one of the most daring philosophical authors out there, bringing both the poetry and the funk to create works that make one proud to be a member of the human race.

    Bravo, sir.

  • Amen, soul friend!!

  • By far my favorite fiction author.

  • love his novels soooo much, hopefully jitterburg perfum will never (!!!!!!!!!) be a movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Haha I hear that!!!

  • I wrote to Mr.Robbins while I was living in Seattle and actually wrote me back with some great advice on writing. An American icon and a national treasure.

  • Greatest writer of contemporary fiction.
