Three companies with many differing business philosophies - All have similiar financial issues. CAW and UAW being the common link among all three. By the way, in all the tests conducted in just the past two years for 1/4 ton pickups, Ford came dead last in almost every catagory. The top 4 were as follows:

I am not pro Union however GM has been assholes here. Firstly the union just finished negotiating a contract with GM for the next 5 years. Then GM says they will close the plant in a few years violating the contract. GM has received a $1/2 billion from the Ontario Gov't in Ontario to produce vehicles in Ontario. This plant is one of top ten GM plants in terms of quality. They should re-tool the plant and make smaller cars here but they won't this is an excuse to make cars in Mexico which is a...

cont'd....mistake. Honda and Toyota are the world's most successful car companies and they don't have any plants in Mexico. They charge more for similar cars than GM/Ford/Chyrsler yet they do better. Why? People want quality and reliability, and fuel economy. Mexico has horrible quality and reliability. Audi made cars in Mexico for a while and they quickly moved production back to Germany. GM needs quality products which Oshawa makes. They should retrofit Oshawa and make smaller cars here.
