  • Having played this in band, myself, this is actually the right tempo.

  • Needs that bounce too it!! All marches bounce!

  • Wow we just got this for our Honor Band Audition Music yesterday

  • I'm writing this critique as a musician.

    (1) Intonation -- perfect

    (2) Tempo -- too fast. girolle01 is correct. This is a British march; the tempo should be about three notches slower.

    (3) The beat is a little incongruent. This is a top-notch band; director should have stayed on top of keeping the beat.

    (4) elli003 says "pretty, but not majestic!" I agree. This is a majestic march. Tempo should have been slowed down drastically near the end to give it the "sock it to 'em conclusion."

  • Very good performance. Good use of dynamics. It's nice to hear a strong clarinet section.

  • I think it's a little too fast...it is a British [style] march. And the trio needs more of the low brass melody; not just the clarinets.

  • Critique: This is a MARCH play it like one.

Stay on top of the beat. Discant trumpet riffs a little off sync. Arrangement and acoustic recording makes this sound woodwind heavy - more low brass. Pretty but not majestic ! Think Dynamics!

Fill up those horns - use that diaphram !

Overall nice sound quality -no notable intonation.

This is the only Division I band playing British Eighth on YouTube.
