  • PLAY LIKE A BOSS

  • Perfectly executed!

  • their is one word for this BOSS

  • please play more songs of dream theater!

  • Goddamn dude. That was so sick. Props dogg.

  • Dude right on! I have been working towards covering this and I was a little unsure about the transistional fills but you showed them right on! Keep playing! :)

  • How do u tune your snare?, can explain, sounds great.

  • @ricardoieci the top head varies generally on what mood im in but the bottom head is usually quite tight to get the crack out of the snare

  • Muito bom! Ficou excelente!

  • what do you use to write out the score?

  • The only reason I clicked on this drum cover/tutorial is to hear the chorus.

  • good that you have a cover and a lesson in a video , best lessons!

  • wow. just MEGA cool.

  • holy crap ronnie from the jersey shore rocking some foo fighters!! :D

  • Can you please explain how to do the fill at 7:06

  • Hey man, this information might be somewhere that I"m unaware of, but are you self-trained? I see alot of jazz in your fundamentals: your limb independence, finger control, flow, all your knowledge of the ins and outs of rhythm placement, etc... Did you go to school?

  • @Ch0colatepuff I was privately taught when i began at age 10 until a began high school (age 15) from which i self my self since.

  • @wrightdrums Wow! Huge props. That takes a lot of passion and talent to end up as good as you are now, cheers man.

  • 7:36 he does a silent fill lol

  • hey man could you maybe do a lesson porcupine tree's futile?

  • you're a beast dude! good and clear explenation, but can you also teach how to play the solo's?

  • @reinyschuil hey man its all written in the transcript

  • very impressive! Keep on the good work!

  • what mixer do you use ? great cover

  • Dude you look like Ronnie in Jersey Shore... XD

  • @TheKrakenLegend But he is inteligent. Ronnie isn't.

  • @110996man Yes I agree ! :P

  • Hey mate, amazing cover, Every fill was executed perfectly. I also really envy a drummer who has the time to practice to metronome outside the studio. One small thing I noticed about your drumming and I don't know if you know this but when you strike the snare you sustain the hit which chokes the skin, not letting it resonate to its full potential and can also be more strenuous on the wrist and hand. Beautiful drumming though dude. Fair play! :)

  • GREAT COVER!!!

  • I've watched many of your videos, the first ones were your Meshuggah medleys, Animals as Leaders, and after that some tutorials and now this one. It's amazing how flexible you are in your playing! You cover some of the most technical and challenging music I've ever heard, you add own elements to it, you are a great teacher and you can adept to this kind of "simple" rock without showing off, despite your great skills! A true inspiration indeed! Keep the videos coming! Cheers from Sweden!

  • thats awesome. i wish i was that good at drums right now. great song too.

  • Awsome mate, fantastic job and great lesson, 5*s. Did you score it yourself? There is a serious lack of proper drum scores on the market today :-( All bloody Tabs.

  • @DRUMSMITH81 thanks mate. yeah i transcribed it myself in sibelius. it will be available soon for free from my website

  • @wrightdrums Excellent news, been looking at your site man. Awsome stuff, will be a regular visitor to that. I myself had a crack at Sibelius. Found it a little tricky to use. Any tips on how you learned it etc? Don't worry I don't expect a full blown tutorial lol, just a couple of tips on how ou tought yourself. Was it through just messing around with it etc?

  • @DRUMSMITH81 I used to work with a cover band a few years ago (oz hornz) that was a reading gig. The guy who ran the band charted everything up in Sibelius so i was fortunate to get some tips from him. Search youtube for sibelius tutorials i found those helpful too. once you know how to write a basic few grooves you get the hang of it fairly quick.

  • @wrightdrums Thanks man I will have a look. One last question, which Sibelius do you use? Is Sibelius 6?

  • @DRUMSMITH81 yeah mate 6 :)

  • @wrightdrums Thanks dude :-)

  • @DRUMSMITH81 btw tabs are for guitars and bass..... GUITARS AND BASS ONLY!!!!!!!!!! lol

  • loved the tune when it first came out, wondered how those solo fills worked, you are so easy to follow, believe it or not I don't read music, but I can really follow your notes, will continue to watch and take "lessons" thanks again.

  • U R AWWWWWEEEESSSSSOOOOOOMMMMMEEEEEEEEEEEEE.

  • Absolutely awesome!

I pretty much got the entire song down now, and it sounds pretty good. I just cannot get the 2 fills at 7.20 to sound right when I play. Especially the second is a killer.

    Any help?? ;-)

  • @rbn2212 hey mate yeah taylor played some great some fills in this song.. i would try the first fill with out the kick first? maybe play the crash part on the hats to get comfortable with it.. its all singles man. the second fill is pretty straight forward as long as you start on the right beat. hope that helps. cheers. troy

  • awesome cover man

  • This is SO AWESOME !!! Great vid ! I have watched it more than 15 times today ! :D Very helpful ! Maybe I will have a problem with those fills - can I ask you, where you get the tabs ? Please more of these vids ! Can you do Burning Bridges ?
