From looking at this, I bet that there's less tendency to get that front-to-back rocking motion that is so common with laterals. I'm going to check these out next chest-shoulder day.
I was a little confused when coach said that you are using different planes of motion than in other lateral type raises. Really, you are just using two different planes here at once, rather than an actual different plane than what is normally used, no? Just trying to see if I'm missing something.
I thought you were suppose to stop when your arms are parallel to the floor? Does it put extra strain on your rotators cuff? Not trying to flame here, just want a clear understanding.
@thatsmysherman I like to label that another myth of over-analysis. Parallel to the floor is just the beginning points to where those muscles are made "the weakest muscles in a group of acting muscles" which is essential for true overload
