  • Is this a joke or what?! These

people are not Jewish, and this is not how a Jewish Funeral looks like, and this so called 'Rabbi' can't even read the Hebrew he's saying, and his 'congregation' are just shooting in Amen in all the wrong places!

  • being a chinese jew I have no choice to hide my identity in a moslems majority country i live in. so we have to practise christianity in order to survive. sowhat ever death is concern we have to be more praticial with simple funeral. u cannot afford to have your enemies waiting to destroy the grave for what ever reason known to them or becos' u r jewish.

  • Every faith & denomination of that faith has different customs. In the Greek Orthodox Christian church the custom is to have an open casket funeral (cremation is not allowed) . During the wake or trisagion service the casket is placed on the solea (area in front of the icon screen) & the custom is to have the head & body facing the blessed altar. These services used to be done at funeral homes but like the funeral itself the trisagion is also performed in the church.

  • isn't the body suppose to be in a wooden casket and closed up??

  • They dont know but how ever as a Apostolic Pentecostal I do respect Jewish lawespecialy seeing how I sooooo wish I was a child of Isreal

  • Are ya'll still in the house of God? I know they don't teach this do they?

  • OMGosh... close the casket.. it is not nice to watch people sleep.

  • does anyone know what state this is in? This is interesting. Have to show this to my former Hebrew Israelite Congretation

  • where is this congregation located? I would like to visit...I'm sephardic

  • I agree that open casket funerals were not the tradition of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, Joshua, etc.

  • Thank you for posting this prayer. I'm honored to be your fellow Jew; and I'll be saying Kaddish for all our fellow children of Adam whose earthly road ended in Haiti yesterday. God bless you and God bless their memory; and peace upon Israel and upon all the world.

  • Interesting video, but saying the kaddish while viewing the body is not a Jewish practice. The body is never displayed at funerals; open casket ceremonies are forbidden by Jewish law. According to Jewish law, exposing a body is considered disrespectful, because it allows not only friends, but also enemies to view the dead, mocking their helpless state.

  • @bernardrichards They seem Falash Jews to me... maybe it is different...

  • Shabat Shalom!

Very interesting, anyone have more info on these folks?

  • @rob60201 This is one of the oldest "black" Jewish congregations in the United States, because they were Jewish and were slaves that kept their Jewish heritage they had to hide their Jewishness from their slave masters and adopt outward Christian practices while on the inside they maintained strong Jewish culture. They call their shuls Churches/Tabernacles till this day, They are known as "The Church of God and Saints of Christ" they make no reference of Jesus nor him as the "son".

  • Do you practice brit mila?

I'm glad you respect Judaism enough to copy some of our practices. Thanks, we can use all the friends we can get.

  • The way I understand it is that Jews from Ethiopa have traditionally been called Falashim.

Some of these people might have learned some of that tradition from Ethiopians who came to the USA.

Ethiopians do NOT stay in Ethiopia. Some go to Israel but some come here to the USA.

This might be how African Americans interpret Falashim teachings and religious practies. It is their First Amendment Right under the U.S. Constitution.

  • NOT offensive at all. That is your way and it is fine. IT is AMERICAN and let those people be. They are Hebrew Pentacostals okay now I get it. G-d bless you people

  • Well thank you, I'm glad you finally get it. We are the "House Of Prayer For All People" Isa.56:7. the prophet Isaiah also said that "in the last days the House Of The Lord shall be estatblish in the top of the mountain and exalted above the hills and "ALL NATIONS" shall flow unto it. And many people shall go and say Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the L-RD, to the house of the G-D of Jacob; nd He will teach us of HIS ways, and we will walk in HIS paths.

  • The Falashi tradition comes from the Queen of Sheba who had children with King Solomon of the Jews! There have been Coptic Christians from Ethiopia as well as African JEWS for CENTURIES! YES BLACK PEOPLE CAN BE JEWISH!

JUDIASM IS A RELIGION, POSSIBLY AN ETHNICITY --IT IS NOT A RACE! Hitler was a trash-talking, ignorant bigot and if he was alive today, he would be one of the morons on the Jerry Springer Show! A JEW IS A JEW AND ALL JEWS ARE JEWS TOGETHER.

  • Thank you so kindly. I have beem trying to get people for years to see that judiam is a religion not a race"" If it was a race it sure would not be the caucasian race (people from the region between the Black and Caspian Seas. Thank G-D it is a religion of people from all parts of the earth that keep the commanments, Laws, statutes, and Judgements, and belive in the G-D of Abraham, Issac and Jacob. There are many ethnic groups among jews all over the world.

  • Falashi Tradition. Sorry as a person who is Jews born and raised in Ethiopia. OKAY BORN and RAISED I thinkg that EXTREMELY insulting. Okay you are NOT Ethiopian. NOT today not Yesterday. Okay The idea of a belief in one G-d did NOT start in the bowels of a Polish Ghetto I understand that but calling yourselves Ethiopian is an insult to you AND ME.. Beacause you are not. A Jew from Yemen is as much a Jew as one from Poland I get that. Most white people don't but please don't say Ethiopian.

  • Falasha literally means stranger, in that case we are not strangers ,we like to think of ourselves as children od G-D. The nation that we are from is not as important to G-D as it is to you. It could be as insulting to me as you say it is to you for you to go on and on about something that was never a cliam by anyone of this congregation. We have people from many Nations in our congregations, yes even Ethiopia. "My house shall be called The House Of Prayer For all People" Isa:56;7

  • These people are NOT East African and Jews don't Pray over open Caskets. Well to each his own.

  • Some Jews don't even belive that there is a G-D. there are many belief in jewry. You said it right, to each his own. Condemm anything we do with the scirptures and we will stop doing it. Remmemer now, come with scipture not lip.

  • Some Christians don't believe in G-d either.

  • Not so, you can not be a christian and not belive in G-D, and anyone that don't belive in G-D will not say that they are christian, in judiasm they think of it as a race or ethinic group in whick I disagree. This is not meant to be controversial it is just a fact.

  • Ops

Rabino leu o kadish erradão...Que isso?? Caixão aberto kadish errado...sei não se são Epiopes

Pisou na bola esse rabino ai, acho que são cristãos

  • Jews? Dead people don't move.. mitsvót

  • Was this a young saint? I don't get into all the dialogue since I have no clue to what the jews believe or the hebrew pentecostal, although I luv the way they church, they have good church, I've been many times and have felt the power of God move.

  • What he heard move? power of God moved thing?

  • Good keep coming, always glad to have you.

  • what the heck is this? You have an open casket, people without kippot, and what the..... I dont understand if these are Jews or if this is some bizarre cult?

  • we are who we are, not bound to man made rules, but Sripture only. We call ourselves Hebrew Pentecostals. A lot of people would refer to different sects of jews (Ashkenazic's and Sephardic's) as bizarre cults. We do not mandate that people wear certain garments at funerals and neither does the Scriptures.

  • these are house of god people they just believe they should do some jewish things we shouldn't judge how they think they should worship god we all have different beliefs how to worship

  • in Judaism not supposed to stare at dead people...

  • Not only that, but also in a sturdy steel casket? This is different.

  • Yes different stroke for different folks, however when it is my time to go i shall be put in a kosher casket(wood with no nails), but that is a man made rule, that is not found in the Torah or bible.

  • Everything about us is different, differences make the world beutiful. If everybody and everything was just alike, "wow" what a boaring world this would be.

  • I thought it was against their beliefs to see the dead?

  • Where is that in the scriptures??? Where is that in the Bible??? Could you kindly give me book, chapter, and verse.

  • i miss mi big cousin so much.. its not the same without him... R.i.p mikey

  • My condolences to you and your family.

  • These are Falashi descendants --King Solomon and the Queen of Sheba ( Ethiopia) and they are every bit as Jewish as any other Jew is.They just happen to be living in the US.

They would have been consumed by the Shoah just like YOU and just like ME.

We don't display our dead like they do but that is their choice.

  • Excuse me but this congregation is not Beta Israel. They could be descendants of West African Igbo or another but they are not at all East Africans. And yes, thank you, African Jews are true Jews, like any other kind of Jew.

  • We are descendants of different nations. Isaiah says "My house shall be called the House Of Prayer For All People, Isa.56:7. Yes many of us are east africans.

  • East Africans are East Africans. Perhaps, and I know there was, some are descendants of much older migrations of East Africans. However, that does not make one East African of today. African is not homogeneous. It's rather an insult to say a Nigerian descendant is Ethiopian and vice versa. They are two distinct peoples, with a host of ethnic groups, languages and etc. within those countries.

  • Falashim? How so? When you have real, live, in-the-flesh Ethiopian relatives that are Beta Israel, hmmm, they don't look, act anything like real Ethiopians. No insult, just stating fact. Falashim have an unbroken history...in East Africa.

  • Well Falasha literally mean stranger. When the Ethopians were airlifted to Isreal they still were compelled to go thur ceromonial wahings to become accepted by the poweres that be. You say we don't look like? ,um, maybe you better take another look. Africans comes in all skin tones colors and textures. I guess the next thing you'll tell me is that Ethiopia is not in Africa. Yes so call Falashim have an on broken history, and many belive in JESUS. Well as far as act like, who's acting???

  • The fact is, your family is not Ethiopian. Mine is. I know the difference. I'm not talking skin color, I'm talking tribal. You are not Amhara, Tigrinya, Afar, any of those people. Your mannerisms are not Ethiopian, pure and simple. It's not an insult. Why do you keep insisting you are Ethiopian?

  • You have to realize, there is no welfare system in Ethiopia. You fall thru the cracks, you starve and die. Many people tried to keep their businesses, farms, etc. to survive and take care of themselves. This is why some have converted out.

  • If any body ask you who we are, just tell them we're children of G-D. Thanks for the comments.

  • Yes, children of G-d. I agree with that wholeheartedly. Just not East African.

  • THESE ARE NOT FALASHI. NOT at all. West African descendants of the Americas. More like Ibo or Yoruba but Ethiopian NOPE

  • You have never heard anyone from this congregation say that they All are ethiopians, americans, west africans, east africans, south africans, caribbeans, south americans, yemenites or so on. Sorry our way of worship offend you, but this is AMERICAN, and we are free to worship the way we please, and we belive that it pleases the ETERNAL to worship HIM according to the scriptures. What nation our ancestors come from is not as important to G-D as it is to you, HE is the creator of all mankind.

  • It IS American thats true You are Christians

  • how do you know they are christians?

just curios here, there's some evidence to this claim right?

  • So they are hebrew pentecostals -- house of God -- sabbath keepers? I have some friends in ministry who are house of God-- so I wanted to know if I was speaking correctly (not trying to be funny)

  • yall need to stop and eat some ham and cook some pig feet on the 7 th day lol

  • Why would you say that these people are non-

    jewish?

  • They're not Jews because they are "Hebrew Pentecostals." The way it looks to me, they have found a way to combine the worst of both Judaism and über-Protestantism. As a Roman Catholic, I am disturbed by this, and I imagine that it is also offensive to Jews. God historically hasn't reacted well to being mocked. Perhaps they can find some way to mix in some Islam as well?

  • I am sorry that you are offended by the way we worship, a lot of things about the Roman Church (catholic) is offensive to GOD, Mary worship, bowing to statutes, celebration of pagans holidays, changing the sabbath and the list goes on and on and on and on, you worry about that. You worship ye no not what. WE know what we worship John4:22

  • Well You got a point there. Oh and don't forget about Blaming Jews for diacide

  • because jewish caskets are always closed.

  • I find this offensive, non Jews pretending to be Jews totally disrespectful.

  • Are these House of God People????

  • Yes''''

  • wow i wish i could hear the entire interpretation of this

okay i am hearing some of the english now
