Saw these guys warm up for Marshall Tucker and then for Charlie Daniels in the early 70's in Syracuse NY. Always a great shows. Their sound sounds to me like a mix of The Allman Bros. (After Duane) , Skynard and Tucker. Solid So. Rock Band. Hey can you post Red Wing? Always loved that song.
Superb album released shortly before dru Lombars death. Highlights are drus duets with Miranda Louise , superb vocals from them both Dru , sadly missed . Check out a rare footage of dru with Dr Hector and the Groove Injectors
Yes Dru was the best , I loved Dr Hector and the Groove Injectors too . Miranda Louise is a close friend of mine , his duets with her were just wonderful. Sadly missed . Regards from Scotland
it is sad that this band never got the exposure of such bands like the allman brothers, grinder switch is a true southern rock band.i guess " c'est la vie "as the french saying goes.thanks for posting
Yeah.Charlie Daniels mentioned them in "South Gonna Do It Again".It goes something like this "..Train is grindin' switch comin right on time.Ol checker board are cookin down in Caroline".
The drummer on this CD is Wally Condon from Jacksonville Fl. He also wrote and produced the CD. He is currently woking on a new project with a band called Crockett in Ft. Worth Tx. He also played with Dr. Hector and the Groove Injectors.
