Just watched the film, pretty good one! I usually hate boxing films (as a boxer/fighter myself) I usually hate boxing scenes but they were actually relatively "real". I'm not usually a fan of Christian Bale but he did a great job with this!! Mark Wallberg pretty much just played Mark Wallberg so wasn't too bad. It's a shame that some boxers/athletes go down that path when they're career is done, I personally know people in the same situation and they are now spaced out crack heads roaming around

dickie was a very good boxer. its a great shame the evil poison that is drugs took its grip on a guy who fought a very competitive fight with perhaps the greatest middleweight in history!! also he trained micky ward, his brother who gave us the most exciting trilogy with arturo gatti that i personally have ever seen. not the biggest known fighters of all time but a pair of the most durable boxers in boxing. they had great ability, great respect for eachother and huge guts/heart. r.i.p arturo

People are makin fun of the real Dickie on youtube. My neighbor use to run (i dont mean train) with Dickie back in the day. Hes told me stories from the movie before it came out and some I will never repeat. He talks the same. We go to AA together and play cribbage. We both had our ups and plenty of downs. Its not a easy childhood being porr in New England, I dont care what frigin city it is Lowell to Bangor Hartford to Medford. Show some respect.
