Consider this: ANY adult, male OR female, may on their OWN consent, have parts of their genitals removed. (or not). And, some of BOTH genders DO. Nobody disagrees with this as a Human Right. So where can it be legal to remove genital parts WITHOUT the person's consent when they are an infant where no medical need can be shown which also removes their right to choose for them self later in life. Infant circumcision (male OR female) cannot be legal.
Circumcision is cruel, one of the healthiest nations like Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Norway DO NOT circ, they have one of the lowest HIV, STD stats worldwide
Thank you, Zenas for your sane voice in the midst of those too steeped in denial to hear. At the trial in Fargo, ND, where Zenas endured unconscionable shenanigans of the judge, defense attorneys, and jurors, he was David against Goliath. In a small town, jurors either worked at the hospital or knew someone who did. Zenas was not allowed to show a video of circumcision, the instruments, or the board that tethers the baby. In spite of that, he carries on, Thank you, Zenas! Thank you, James!
Thank you! This interview covers the crux of the issue IMO. Circumcision already IS illegal under dozens of international, federal, state, and local laws. It is so shocking to see US policymakers wearing blinders, which cause them to conclude it is ok to carve up infant boys' bodies.
Court's use the "standing" red herring to avoid making decisions. Yep! Look at the "Under God" in the pledge of allegiance. They said the dad had no standing so they wouldn't have to decide the obvious question they don't want to decide. Like Col. Jessup yelled: "You can't handle the truth!"
@nett103 Hell, if you so much as THINK of saying that female genital mutilation and male genital mutilation are even remotely similar, people will practically crucify you. It's unbelievable how blatantly irrational most people are about this issue.
The practice of MGM [also] in this country [ the USA ] violates numerous laws and international treaties, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Convention on the Rights of the Child and the UN Convention Against Torture, the Constitution and Penal-Law.
It is in violation of the 14th Amendment to the US Constitution, which GUARANTEES EQUAL-PROTECTION for both girls AND boys under the law.
I attended the Flatt vs Kantak trial in Fargo that Zenas was the lawyer for the mother (on behalf of her son). Zenas is quite right that the law in this country does not respect baby boys.
Another wise man spreading the word of genital integrity!

Completely revolting that the medical establishment makes a profit off of mutilating penises.

@tinakimmel It's because SO many of them get kickbacks for turning the other way about the issue.

94% of the world's females are proteced from even a pin-poke to draw one ceremonial drop of bloodwith no religious exemption.
Protect boys too.

A person can mention male circumcision and not get a response, mention female circumcision and you're likely to get verbally attacked.
