  • Excellent! Dave Gilmour has supreme taste in phrasing - this solo is a marvellous case in point.

  • This is one of the greatest guitar solos of all time, in my opinion.

  • This guy is a big Floyd fan if he bought a black strat and the strap the jimmy hendix used that gilmour now has pf is amazing I love this song and not now John goes boss together but dark side of the moon blows me away gilmour is the best member of pf

  • I have a question= Why does PF never play this album on live concerts?

  • just wonderful...as all your covers...you got it my friend ..check out my another brick in the wall solo cover and tell me what you think..the solo is in half step down.I mean in my modest version...

  • Great job man. Take a look at my version of the solo ;)

  • wheres the topy part after 0:48?

  • Wowowow. Found you whilst looking for Gilmour rigs via Gilmourish. Thank you x1 million dude.

  • Hey Bjørn how did you modify the Blues Driver

BTW..LOVE YOUR TONE AND YOUR SITE!!

  • very, very good my friend! great job :)

  • very good brother!

  • THE FLETCHER is one of my favourite songs.

  • @charlesportilho

Agree! I think David has some of his finest moments on this album.

  • @BjornRiis It's kinda funny, David doesn't like this album, yet some of his best solos appear on it.

  • @krissmith1986

Quite. I think he once said in an interview that he was happy with the sounds he got but didn't care much for the songs. One of my fav Floyd albums though.

  • nice. P

  • Not a big fan of the whammy on the held notes. I like those notes sounding nice and pure. But other than that, sounded really nice. Great tone.

  • nice stuff, great tone, is that the gilmour signature strat ?

  • Nice work man I really like this one. Do you have your bridge set up in a floating bridge style or flush on the body like Gilmour?

Also, dont you find that the modded bd-2 gives a lot of compression on its own? If I ever put the CS2 with my modded bd-2 (mind you its analogman) i get a really "punctured" sound which is usually an indication of too much compression

  • @MacDrevi0us

I keep it 2-3 off the body with the two outer screws on the plate flush and the four middle a quarter of a turn off. SMooth and nice.

My BD-2 is slighty different than the Keeley and AnalogMan versions. It's more like a Powerbooster with more bass and less gain. Don't have any problems with using compressors with it.

  • @BjornRiis Did you mean 2-3 mm or something?

Thanks for the reply though it was helpful :)

  • @MacDrevi0us

    Yes... sorry :)

  • I could never count the number of times I listened to the solo pieces on The Final Cut, including this one in particular.

Watching this really brings back the fondness I hold for that album, and this particular song.

    :)

  • Man, I forgot about this solo. Isn't it amazing how D Gilmour can come up with these most beautiful jaw dropping solos ? LONG LIVE SIR GILMOUR !

  • awesome really awesome! i like your guitarsound (and i like ''your'' guitar! :P)

However, did you put the BD-2 before or after the muff?

  • @thedeadliest

Thanks! The BD is after the Muff.

  • classic gilmour style, I like the part at :36 it kicks

  • nice one mate

  • Great solo man one of my fav

  • Do you ever play your own stuff?

  • Yes. Check out my band's site or youtube channel - search for Airbagsound. Cheers!

  • nice black strat... Like gilmour's one, even the little vibrato^^

  • How do you do that slide that Gilmour always does at 0:13 , 0:24-0:25 , 0:33-0:34 ?

  • I meant 0:12 not 0:13

  • Simply stunningly gorgeous!

  • may I recommend that you use a usb microphone for the amp just so we can hear your magnificent sound.

  • That is THE tone! Can't wait till I get my Memory Man!

  • Fantastic!

  • Underrated song! Good selection!

  • Underrated album!

  • ....veramente un gran suono !

    ciao Alex , Bologna Italy

  • What about Gilmour's other solos on that album?

  • The first 2 notes sound just like the beginning of the solo on Mother.

  • That's because they are. :D

  • One my favorite Gilmore solos! Love the attack Dave uses on this track.... a great rendition here!

  • Good job again, Bjorn! I use your website for all of my PF vids!

  • ur fukkin amaizng man

haha i dont like the neck... im not makin fun or anythin just sayin my opinion im more of an ebony guy buttt ur great man keep the vids comin

  • great, but isnt it an harmony with 2 then 3 guitars at the end ?

  • Oh. Wow.

I'm sorry the man didn't whip out two other guitars and start playing those parts as well. Quit nit picking at this bit of perfection.

  • Awesome ! Inspired me to make my own

So many thanks for your amazing website too, I visit it very often

  • great final cut solo cover,1 of the best on the tube.

simple but very effective, and addictive to listern to. top job.

  • Final cut good album but Waters lost his mind and the band hated him especially this album. I love it. It's depressing but if you could sit Gilmour down he would tell you he hated the ablum

  • gilmore did some of his best solos on the album

    they are awsome

    oh

    and great playing as allways

  • It's beautiful!

  • One of my fave Gilmour solos. Its a shame that The Final Cut is played down by so may people. Its a true classic album. And my birth year Floyd LP. :)

  • The best album!

I listen to it all the way through at least once a week.

  • The CS69 pickups sound great! Do you know what Gilmour currently has in his black strat? My friend swore they were Kinman Woodstocks, which would rock as that's what I have in my strat!

  • David has never used Kinmans. At least not in any of his main Strats. His Black Strat has original Fender early 70's (dated 1972) in neck and middle positions and a custom wound Duncan SSL-1 bridge. CS69 are very close.

  • I really loved that! I am of the opinion that the Final Cut and the Division Bell feature David's best playing for Pink Floyd ever. Unfortunately many people don't care for those albums.

  • I love those two albums, i completely agree they have got some of his best playing on them.

  • i hate full bends at fret no. 2, haha

  • great job, i'm looking for an analog delay that can cover a wide area of gilmour tones, specially from saucerful to animals, I'm between a deluxe m.man, a maxon ad-999, an mxr cc and a malekko 600, can you recomend me any? thanks :) I love your site and your playing :)

  • if i were you, i'd go with the mxr, or get a boss dd-20. the boss isn't analog, but it has settings to sound like it.

  • You have a Callaham S Bridge in this Strat, dont you? The tremelo seems very smooth on this guitar and your sustain goes on forever.

  • Yeah, the Callaham S Bridge is excellent. Highly recommended!

  • Oh i see from your other posting that you swapped the pick ups, cool answers my question. They sound great on the 50's man!

  • I thought you had 54's in the Black Strat Bjorn and 69's in the 70's?

  • Nice, I love Gilmourish and Airbag, keep them coming. Check out some of my videos if you get time, all done with backing tracks from your site of course

  • Bjørn you should start making lessons!

  • wow that was like...spot on

    awesome job
