I knew the 2007 Genesis tour was going to be its last. Phil Collins wants to be a devoted dad to his two young sons as he regretted on missing out on watching his other three children grow up. On top of that, he lost a bulk of hearing in his left ear due to an ear infection. Peter Gabriel is not one for nostalgia. Tony Banks is working on a classical album, Mike Rutherford's making his third proper solo album and Steve Hackett's releasing a new album soon.

Peter plays his solo tunes but he refuses to sing about Hermaprodites, Rael, Old Henry with croquet mallets at his age. He's been a solo artist longer than he was a member of Genesis. Now Phil Collins has problems with his right hand so he can't play drums properly after he had corrective back surgery earlier this year.

So there it is. He won't be an active member of Genesis again and if I get that right, he even won't tour with them again. The only thing he could imagine would be a project for a film.

Genesis is now officially over after Phil Collins dislocated his back on the 2007 tour. Here's the press release from Phil and I quote "Somehow during the last Genesis tour I dislocated some vertebrae in my upper neck and that affected my hands. After a successful operation on my neck, my hands still can't function normally. Maybe in a year or so it will change, but for now it's impossible for me to play drums or piano. I'm not in any 'distressed' state, stuff happens in life", end quote.
