  • thanks gemans and chekos!!!! and all europe for the accordion (the magnificent instrument) this instrument was brought long time ago to the north of mexico now there's norteno bands all over mexico,,,even in other countries in south america play our music and that's great!!! this music is the root of our broad styles of music like,corridos,huapangos,cumbia­s,boleros,polkas ,chotis, etc.....

  • @ibold1000 The Mexicans that made polka in Spanish were of German Descent--they were German immigrants, it just so happens when cultures mix :)

  • @muhreuh1= There's another story. When German immigrants moved to the Hill Country of Texas, they brought polka with them. The Mexicans that lived in the area, saw them performing with the accordion. so, they adopted it. They mixed German polka with Northern Mexican music, and thus, Tejano music was born.
