@GPrMike03 The 03-06 Rubicon has an I6 4.0 liter engine equipped with a one piece ignition coil rail that bolts down over the top of all six plugs at once. No distributor.
@GPrMike03 Its a 2003 or older Wrangler, the distributor cap was fazed out after the (I think) 99 model. My 2000 doesn't have one, so it was sometime before that.
@HummerInvestmentsInc - good luck without a snorkel, even my jk wouldnt make this... the snorkel saved its life... watch as his front end drops its goes about 1-2ft under the water... that's where your issues are, with stock intakes... a h2s intake also has a vent on the right quarter panel for extra flow... bad idea for any kind of off-roading...
@cclover89 coil packs, no distributor. As far as the alternator goes, as long as he isn't going underwater for 30min at a time, there should be no problem.
@rawkm but properly sealing the right things you wouldn't have a problem as long as your not trying to imitate a boat and keep it in the water for a duration of time...
thats the funnest thing ever bro, i have an 04 rubicon with a 3in lift and 33" dick cepek fc-II and recently put on my safari snorkel and tested it out with water reaching my front winshield, scary but exciting!!
OK.. i have a Question.. When you do this, Do you disconnect your Fan or something?? because when i do this my engine Boggs down bec its trying to turn the fan...
Getting the itch for speed and thinkin about trading the rubi in on a jeep SRT-8.....damn i'm ganna miss doing stupid shit like that and getting away with it. :)
@cledus10376 Not that I like H2's or whatever, but that water would probably not crest the hood of an H2, let alone stop one with an after market snorkel like this jeep has.
@t4thfavor1212 no not without a snorkel... watch as his front end drops 1-2ft below the water surging it into his engine bay... and a H2 has a side vent for extra air flow... without a snorkel i don't know what stock vehicle would make this... my jk lifted 4.5" and on 35's wouldn't...
@motocross363 You can do it, but in my experience, it's no fun man. Jeeps are made to be built up. You won't be able to resist the wonders that lie where the pavement ends!
@motocross363 Well here's the thing, I've a 95 Jeep wrangler. I got it probably around a year ago. It's my first car. I LOVE it. Saving up all my money from working a crappy ass fast food job, I've lifted it and put tires on it. There's more to be added. If you want to drive Street only, I would recommend that Charger. A lot of the times, I find myself wishing I could drive faster when I'm on the street but the jeep just can't do that, but if you get a Jeep, you will probably not JUST drive
@motocross363 on the road. You'll find a spot that you can take it out and enjoy the heck out of it. There's a place I like to go to do some rock climbing. My jeep in the only place that can get to it. My friends trucks are too big and NO cars can even get half way to the spot. There is nothing like owning a Jeep man. It's more than just having a car. It's a lifestyle. "It's a Jeep thing."
Nice video! I used to own a 1995 Pathfinder with just a ARB snorkel and my vent lines ran up higher and that thing would go through 4 feet of water all day long. Don't ask me how the fan or anything else for that matter didn't break, I don't know but it was a blast off-road and driving through deep flooded streets.
Hey, So what happens to your electronics doing this? Can you seal it up? Im going into my "sub" jeep project. I want the electronics to work. How fast do the seats dry up? Should i be wearin waters or something? ha
@offroad188 in a newer jeep you shouldnt have to worry about nothing like that.i took my 06 down a stretch of river that was just up to the fenders and my floors were still dry.
@offroad188 Generally nothing should happen if you get in and out of the water as quickly as possible so the water doesn't have time to intrude past connector seals. They're not totally waterproof, but a couple minutes' worth of submersion is fine.
Haha we did this out at suburban estates and the water was about 3/4 of the way up the windshield with a 6 inch lift and 37's, it was pretty flooded that day and the worst damage we got was a burnt up fan clutch =)
Another group of boneheads advertising their stupidity.
Law enforcement and government decision makers just love these kinds of videos in order to justify their position on protecting wetlands, watersheds and associated ecosystems.

I bet he walked back ...water in the distributor. If you don't seal the computers and distributors in the new POS trucks/jeeps they get one drop of water in them and you're screwed (well any truck really). I found that out the hard way.
