Thanks so much for posting this video! I can't wait to forward this to all my volunteers so they can see the beginning part of these dogs' stories! Puddles was one of my favorites from this group...although they're all perfect in their own way. Keep up the awesome work, and thank you for trusting our shelter with helping them on to the next part of their lives. We love them all and are so thankful to play our part in getting them home!
Shaina, thanks for sending the link to all us volunteers. This video made me cry (in a good way) and I never cry. I'm so glad we've all been able to help these dogs find homes. :)
FloBair, just so you know...the receiving shelter here was not North Shore Animal League, but Northeast Animal Shelter in Salem, Mass. (Which is near Boston, hence the song they used in the video.) They always welcome donations of any amount!
thank you all the volunteers and transporters.I live in NH and one of my pups was transported from Georgia where thankfully, someone cared enough to spare her life and send her to me. Our spay /neuter programs allow us to have the homes available for dogs from other parts of the country yet our stray cat problem is astronomical -Please -spay/neuter your dogs AND cats. Adopt from shelters -don't patronize the pet stores and realize a pet is a life time responsibility and family member.
Thank you, thank you so much North shore. You are God's hand and the lives you save are his tears. Thank you for speaking for those that have no voice. I will continue to support your efforts with my donations however meager because I know that every penny counts for these babies.
Thanks to all of you who have adopted and done rescue and transport. These animals don't stand a chance in hell holes like Georgia. Doing as many transports as I can, the reward is always seeing these dogs get delivered to the happy, waiting faces of their new Moms and Dads. It always tears me up!!
PLEASE Spay and nueter your pets and don't breed them until every shelter is dark and empty!!
any shelter and look at te dogs lying there looking so forlorn waiting for their owner to come back...and if they did all would be forgiven. If you cannot adopt a dog for LIFE, then do NOT adopt them. They love you and it breaks their hearts when they are tossed away lke so much trash! Nothing makes me madder than to see these precious waifs hoping and waiting for their owner to retun for them. Their little hearts broken. It is the cruelest most inhumane thing you can do to adog~
Thanks for making me cry at work! We adopted a coonhound mix puppy from Northeast Animal Shelter last March and my husband and I love him beyond words. I should post some of his hilarious and adorable videos.
May God ease the suffering of his furry little children. I have so much outrage and have shed so many tears that I'm just numb at this point. I do what I can, contribute whenever I can and try to educate people on this issue when I can. Hope you guys feel the same way. I love these guys. Northeast AS is one of my favs in terms of the job they do. I live down in Miami Beach and still try to follow and supoort them.
for ANY REASON. When you adopt a dog, it is for the lifetime of that dog. Unless the owner dies, there is no excuse-NONE. If you are not going to keep a dog for the duration of his life, then do not adopt them in the first place. It is totally unfair and it breaks their hearts. They form attachments just like people do. The death of the owner is the only acceptable excuse to find another home. Nothing makes me madder than to hear a dog was tossed out because of a stupid baby. ---cont.
sandrahender, I agree with most of what you said regarding careless people giving up their pets. There are a lot of selfish people in the world. But, your "stupid baby" comments are out of line. It's not their fault they have idiots for parents. Also, not all people are jerks that have to give up their pets. There are valid reasons. People have lost their jobs, homes, spouses and children and they can't give the proper love and care to their pets that they once could.
This is a wonderful video and saving these dogs is so wonderful. What I do not understand though is how anyone can just give up their dog. Owning a dog is a lifetime committment. There is no acceptable reason to throw your dog away, except the death of the owner. I get sick to death of hearing dogs given up because a stupid baby came. That is a bunch of horseshit. Nor is "moving" acceptable. You do not move where you cannot take your dog. I have never, will never give up a dog-2 b cont.
In a world full of such horrors & cruelty, it is nice to know that there are still such wonderful, caring & loving people out there. You made me cry tears of joy. God Bless all of you!
Great Video as and employee North East Animal Shelter I am so happy to say that I did adopt Patches to a wonderful family. The day I went in and saw Patches I made it my mission for him to go home with his forever family and so the story goes.

Do you think your puppy came from Old Fella? If so, we would love to hear from you! :)

I should've mentioned he was from Virginia...do you make runs from Virginia? He's the sweetest most special boy and he makes me laugh every day.

Please keep comments G rated. I'd like for young children to be able to watch without seeing nasty words. Thank you.

The song is titled "Boston" and it's by a group called Augustana (you can Google them or go to Youtube and search for them).
