I run on a higher quality in napoleon, and in the battles themselves i have no problems at all. Its only on the campaign map and only when moving the camera around that i get stutter, otherwise everything is smooth. Tried lowering the setting to very low but still had the stutter.

i found sources that told me that they are saving rome 2 for later

no the map will not be too smal the regions you saw on the map conteins 4-5 provinces each

all clans will start with one province and the other ca. 40 provinces will be controld of none-playable clans with one province each

and the total war series are history following pepole and will NOT make Lotor like games

I love the Total War series. I have Rome + BI and Alexander, Medieval II + Kingdoms and Empire + All DLC (incl. Warpath Campaign). I didn't like Empire's gameplay a lot, so didn't buy Napoleon, does it have the same gameplay as Empire? Loved the setting of Empire though.

I really like the looks of Shogun 2 Total war and all it has to offer, but my only concern is: is the campaign map only Japan? Isn't that a little small campaign map? I hope some parts of East Asia are included too.

Can't wait for this game. Should be great fun. I would agree with those asking for a total war WW2 game as I think it would be very interesting if they could make it work. But I can't understand why you would play WW1 as a game. Who wants to watch soldiers sitting in trenches for years on end without advancing, dying from disease from exposure to the filth or getting gassed. Sounds a bit dull for the player no?

Not really. Admittedly, it wasn't as much trench warfare, but it was still nothing like a war of today. And "creative strategy"? Are you serious? There was more strategy back in 500BC then there was in 1941. WWII isn't as easy for TW to pull of simply because they'd need land, sea and air units. Although they could definitely do it.

@nmikas73 Who are we? I tell you that modern day warfare will not work on Total War franchise. In Total War games you move big units with dozens of soldiers in them. Modern day warfare is too much of individual soldiers rather than large units with many soldiers in them to work in Total War series. I think it's good idea to return to Shogun because it is only theme used in Total War series that I have not tried.

P.S. With Modern day warfare I mean warfare after United States Civil war in 1860's.

Everyone is always complaining about how "MTW2 was terrible" and "Empire was boring". Maybe it's just me but MTW2 was definitely my favorite and Empire, although it graphically looks like chutes and ladders on my system, is really an improvement on the TW series! (Napolean should have just been an empire expansion in my opinion though)

The biggest problem I see is not with WW2, but with a WW1 total war. You couldn't just have armies fighting pitched battles, there would have to be a way of bringing trench warfare into total war gameplay. The only way I can see of doing this is to build the trenches on the campaign map when two armies meet, and then the real time battles would consist of "going over the top" and trying to push the enemy army back, at which point the trench lines would move further forward on the campaign map.

I think Rome: Total War 2 has to be on the cards for the next one, but it will be interesting to see where they go from there. Surely there can't be a Medieval 3! And I think Empire will be too close behind to make a sequel to that (or at least a sequel that offers anything different). I think something set around the first and second world wars could be interesting, but personaly I would like to see one set further back in ancient history (i.e. from the very early days of civilisation itself).

making games about other ages is good, but the game that best suits total war game play is Rome total war and I wonder why are they delaying rome 2 total war, we all know that Creative assembly became popular with rome, that was their master piece, not RTW in medieval times titled Medieval 2 total war, or absolutely boring games like napoleon and empire, and I doubt about the success of this one.

I think Shogun 2 will be even better, nothing bets Japanese culture and diplomacy. Their armies are very fun to control as well :)

empire total war was the worst total war game. all the factions were the same all in all. muskets pikes and cavalry.. only the naval battles were good. i'm really happy the series go back to its roots.
